I was less impressed with this jacket versus other Columbia products I've encountered. The body size of the 3XL is good but the sleeves are tight. Also I expected it to be warmer than it is. It is good for 32 - 45 degree F weather but not below freezing. I bought it on a whim while buying a gift for my wife. Bottom line Meh for winter. Maybe better for early spring in Detroit Mi area
One final thought the inside silver/fleece liner and tight sleeves make it hard to don or doff.

Need to add a second button on the wrist of the sleeve of the liner and place them a little higher. The liner is a pain as it comes out 2-3 inches every time you put the coat on. Same goes for putting a couple at the bottom back of the coat to hold the liner from creeping up the back when putting it on. I plan on using this permanently as a winter coat so I am going to stich the liner at the wrist and back of coat to keep liner from sliding around so much.

Almost a great jacket, with a critical problem: the sleeves are super-duper tight, especially in the forearm. Fine if you're wearing a shirt underneath, but any thicker layer (fleece, sweater, etc) and its is a huge pain to get your arms through the sleeves without the bottom layer bunching tremendously.
This is annoying enough that i'm replacing this jacket this year.

I purchased this winter Coat for the purpose of buying a Winter Coat...
Pretty straight forward, I was excited to receive it and it was going to be right in time for the Cold Front coming through here in the midwest, I have 2 issues with the product:
1ST
-What I am upset over is the hood, there's nothing to it, you have to tuck it in on both sides and awkwardly velcro it to keep it on and even worse, there's no padding to keep your head warm, a Coat designed for Winter, should have a hood that's designed for a Winter Coat, NOT a Wind Breaker.
Second, I'm upset about the advertising on the website, it does not reflect the inner lining of the coat looks like a 70's disco ball.
I understand that this is a material used to keep people warm but the fact that it does not let you know when you purchase it... IS REDICULOUS!
So I am returning it, because much to my dismay of not having a coat to keep me warm for a few more weeks IN IOWA! -If I'm spending money on a coat, I want a hood that can assist keeping me warm and that I don't have to awkwardly tuck in each side and velcro.
I WOULD HAVE NEVER BOUGHT THIS IF COLUMBIA REFLECTED IN THERE ADVERTISING, THAT THE INSIDE LOOKS MORE LIKE A DISCO BALL, RATHER THAN A PROFESSIONAL INTERIOR I WAS LEAD TO BELIEVE I'D RECEIVE FROM COLUMBIA!

I wear a size 50 got the 2xl it was to tight in the arms had to get a 3xl. Jacket is nice but you need horizontal hand pockets to put stuff in and not have it fall out when you pull your hand out like the side pocket. I wore it in 20 degree weather and I expected it to be a lot warmer with the new space age material.

The jacket is waterproof and warm, but for the outer shell there are zero interior pockets, and only when you wear the liner do you have a pocket, but it's just a big netted pocket with no zipper. I bought a coat just like this from Columbia many years ago and wanted to update it as the years weren't kind to it. I believe it was also a bugaboo, it was a two piece like this jacket, a red outer shell and a grey interior liner. The shell had on the inside a headphone pouch, a velcro pocket in the chest that I used for my wallet, and 2 goggle pockets, one on each side. It also had 3 outside pockets. Even with the liner attached there were still plenty of pockets. This coat is like a cheaper version of my old Jacket, but it was on summer clearance so I will keep it and just use a small backpack or something to carry my items.

I've owned two of the original Bugaboo jackets and the quality of this one doesn't come close. The fleece lining has no insulation and is no thicker than a heavy T-shirt, the included hood no longer has insulation either. I don't see how this will keep you warm when it's near zero degrees F or colder. It doesn't seem that this was designed to be a winter jacket for our Midwest winters.

Was out in light and medium rain for 30 minutes today and interior of jacket was wet when I got home. Sleeves on fleece are so tight, you cannot wear a long sleeve shirt under the fleece.
Great idea, but poor execution on both parts.

The good thing is the arm length was good, but I could fit 3 of me inside this thing. I'm convinced, Columbia is only for fat Americans. Why do they always put tall and fat together, you don't always get fat as your arms get longer.

While the jacket is warm when all goes well, it has some problems. The zipper doesn't stay closed at the bottom. It will separate making the cold come in. The Velcro tabs help a little. When the zipper separates at the bottom, it is hard to completely unzip jacket when trying to take it off.
The liner sleeve will extend several inches past the sleeve of the jacket and frequently gets wet in the snow. Also, the sleeve liner will frequently pull out of the sleeve when removing the jacket.
I will be looking for its replacement much sooner than originally planned.

I usually wear a TALL size, but the LT size, my norm, has extremely long arms and a very tight midsection (more so than other Tall sizes). Also, the fleece zips into the outer shell, but only has 3 snap-in-points in the rest of the jacket, so it doesn't feel like a single unit when worn together; this also made the fleece sleeves protrude out the shell sleeves when I wore them as one piece.

Had high hopes for this jacket but had to return because of one major flaw. Sleeves on interior fleece would come out of coat when removing jacket and sleeves would extend past cuffs when putting jacket on. Found this to be too cumbersome.

Pros
As a 1x this jacket is pretty roomy. Even with the inner fleece lining. Definitely water proof. Even the hoody. Wore it without a cap in the rain I could feel the rain drop and my head was still dry. The hoody also comes with a inner lining with a draw string that makes it stay in place snug to your head.
Con
Side pocket are way too large, with my hands in the pocket the rain and snow get inside the pocket. Have to walk with hands out to prevent inner pocket from getting wet. As for pocket. This jacket is lacking. the outer shell has no pockets on the inside. It could also use some pockets on the torso. The inner lining on the shell (Omni heat) does not do what it says. The fleece only have two very large inner pouch for pocket. None on the upper chest. I wore the outer shell with a short sleeve shirt and all the time my body touch against the Omni heat lining it was like resting up against a cold steel wall. The Velcro used to adjust the sleeve should be on the top of your wrist, when adjusted in the current position it's like having something hard rubbing against your radial artery.
How about making a cape to cover you backpack and help to let the rain fall further off your back

This coat is not a warm winter coat. The hype about the reflective lining is that, hype. If I want something shiny, I'll seek a box of aluminum foil. It is waterproof, but not for really cold winter wear.

Jacket looks great loved the color, but the arms were a little tight with just a regular shirt on. I wouldn't be able to wear a sweater underneath it

Been a Columbia family for years. These new styles do not hold up to the old Columbia standard. This is NOT a coat to wear walking in the middle of winter in downtown Chicago. It is thin and has little tinfoil dots on the inside that are suppose to reflect the heat back into you. Great theory, but walk a mile down Wacker Drive along the river when its 0 outside with 30 MPH wind gusts and this coat will not keep you warm. Its a cute coat if you drive everywhere and need to jump in and out of a car. Spend anytime at all outside and this coat will not keep you warm. For warmth, nothing beats my old XLT DOUBLE WHAMMY coat. I miss that coat and the quality that Columbia use to stand for with those older styles.

I have bought one of these every 4 years for 16 years no and every time I do the quality has gone down a little. They no longer give temperature ratings. The inner fleece jacket has no little clips to the sleeves. I was very disappointed because I used to really like Columbia jackets. I still have all past jackets and you really can see the lesser quality.

This product is OK. However, for a jacket marketed as athletic wear, it is disappointing that the zipper is one-way, meaning, it cannot be unzipped from the bottom to allow for greater leg movement when cycling, sitting, climbing, etc. Returned jacket and Columbia was helpful, but would not pay return shipping.

While the jacket fits nicely and is a comfortable wear. It is very difficult to get on especially if you are wearing a long sleeve shirt. The fleece lining does not slide over whatever you are wearing easily. Also, the lining is not very well secured to the outer shell causing bunching when you try to put the coat on. Especially in the sleeves.

Cheap materials, poorly assembled. Not particularly warm. The fleece liner clings to clothes making it difficult to put on and take off the jacket and the fleece sleeves annoyingly extend beyond the outer shell. The zipper is not likely to last long.

I bought 2 for Christmas gifts. One has the sleeve lining sticking out of the sleeves. The second is smaller in size. I have given Columbia coats in the past. These are poor quality. Not worth the money. Will look elsewhere for future purchases.

I assumed that this was of the same quality that I had grown accustomed to with Columbia gear. This is NOT waterproof - it's water resistant at best. There is also one pocket aside from the two hand pockets. This jacket stinks and I am bummed that I bought it. I would return it if I could

The inner jacket is worth keeping. The outer jacket bottom zipper broke like first day and keeps opening from bottom up. I'm getting rid of shell and keeping fleece.
