Stylish, but an unforgiving fit. I really like the look for these, but they are snug and stiff in too many ways (despite fitting). I have wider than typical feet and they are snug in the toe area. I definitely couldn’t wear these with chunky socks. They’re tough to get a wide, highly arched foot into, but not impossible. Maybe not something you want to wrestle with every morning. They real dealbreaker is the narrow opening. I have thicker calves and ankles despite being thin overall. The opening of the boot pushes into the back of my ankle in a not uncomfortable, but terribly unflattering way. It almost looks like my calf has muffin top. I think these boots are best for someone with skinny feet and ankles. I’m not saying they won’t work for a larger woman, but the juxtaposition effect of the chunky platform is lost on a muscular leg.

The perfect fall shoe to compliment my budding bisexuality! They were comfortable right out the box, but I’m excited what they’ll feel like once they’re broken in more. My foot is a little wide, so I was nervous these wouldn’t work for me. They are perfect on the width and the toe box is even ok! Wouldn’t say it’s “roomy” but my toes definitely aren’t curled up on each other. I feel very cool in these shoes and have already received lots of compliments on them. Now I feel ready to date men and women!

These shoes are so cute! I love the chunky sole and the fact that there's no laces. Got compliments the first day I wore them. I'm a size 8 in most brands. I have several pairs of Dr Martens in a size 8. They're all a tad loose on me but size 7 has always been too small. I had to get a 7 in the Rometty boots. They definitely run bigger (in my opinion) than most Dr Martens I've tried. The 7 might be too tight if I wanted to wear thick boot socks, but luckily, I don't ever wear thick socks. I would stick to a size 8 if you want to put insoles in them. I have read other reviews saying the top of the boot cut into larger calves and caused their calves to have a muffin top. As a true pear shape and someone with very large calves, I can confirm that this is not true. They still look great and don't feel tight at all! Another thing that I want to note: Zappos named these boots as "Rometty Sanguine" this confused me so much. I figured they weren't the actual romettys and a "made for zappos" boot or something. So for clarification, they are the same boots, so not sure why zappos included sanguine in the name.

These guys are definitely a bit larger than other Docs - it may be because you can't tighten them as you can with the boots. I wear a 7.5 in other shoes, but an 8 in Docs which usually feel fine, but there's a bit of extra room at the toe in these. It creates minor slipping, but with insoles and thick socks, it's manageable. The width feels regular, though! I have a fairly wide/square foot (square at the toe especially), and I feel like going a size down would end up squishing my feet. If you are a half size with non-narrow feet, you may benefit from thick socks and insoles rather than sizing down as other reviews suggest! Otherwise, the leather is supple and required next to no break in, and caused no blisters, which is rare for blister-prone me!

I am a 7.5 but I usually size up to an 8 if the shoes do not have half sizes. However, these shoes were way too big. I would recommend sizing down a size. The shoes themselves are beautiful and well made, however, if you have never purchased a Dr. Martin shoes do not let these be your first pair because they are very chunky and may feel like your feet are being wayed down.

These are great boots...comfortable and edgy at the same time!! They're heavy and chunky but the heel balances the look. I got my usual DM size UK 4/ US 6. Looking at the DM site for more sizing info... These are also a EU 37. I'm normally a US 7... But also an EU 37. These fit try to size with thin or medium socks.

I absolutely ADORE these boots!!!! They are extremely comfortable and do not take any breaking in. I love them. They look fabulous with dresses, skirts, jeans, anything. There is no question about them being Dr Marten’s, with the signature yellow stitching, loop, and chunky lug soles, that give me the perfect platform boost. I can mosh in them, or wear them to my daughters wedding. These are awesome boots!!!!

If you’re thinking of buying these boots, DO IT. I wear a US 9 but most Dr Martens run almost a full size bigger, so I ordered a US 8 and they fit perfectly! I have thicker ankles so they are a little snug in that area, but nothing unbearable at all. In fact, the break in process for these was basically non-existent! They are so comfy and so cute! Seriously the perfect winter boot that I’ve forever been on the hunt for

I usually wear a size 7 but ordered a 6 and they fit perfectly!! These are my new go tos. They give me a good amount of height and aren’t too bulky or heavy. I feel like a modern badass. And they’re freaking comfortable to boot. Pun intended :).

I was deciding between these and the rometty2 they both fit& felt amazing in the end I settled on the rometty2 due to slight claustrophobia:) the ease of the zipper was the tie breaker.

The length is definitely true to size. The boot takes a good tug to get on. I have high arches, so sliding into boots can be a problem, but the Doc’s loop in back really helps. The overall volume inside is big. My foot was moving around a lot, and initially I thought they were too big. I added a 3/4 length insole for a little cushion, and it totally solved the sloppy feel. I haven’t found the right sock yet that doesn’t get pulled down inside. I prefer something short to allow a bit of skin between the boot and pant leg. I’ve worn these twice so far and have gotten compliments. I feel like the cool girl in them, and I’m in my 50’s. Looking forward to trying them with a skirt and sweater.

I've always loved the look of Dr Martens shoes but have been apprehensive about sizing and fit. Normally I wear a US W 9 or 9.5, but after a previous experience with size 9 Dr Martens boots, I ordered these in a size 8 instead and they fit perfectly with regular socks. They are snug with thicker socks. I would like to use an insole but I think I'll have to find a pretty thin one to make it work. A size up I am sure though would be way too big. The first few times I put on these boots it was pretty hard to pull them on, but it's gotten easier as the leather breaks in and the elastic relaxes a bit. It is still difficult to take them off, but seems to be getting easier. If you have thicker ankles, these boots might be uncomfortable at the top since the opening is pretty snug. Where the opening hits, my ankles are about 8.75in around in socks, and the boot opening is about 9in around. Not sure how it scales as you size up/down, but be forewarned! I am anticipating this part of the boot to loosen up a bit as the leather breaks in. I imagine in a few weeks of heavy wear, these boots will be very comfortable to stomp around town in. But, that's enough about fit - on to style: These boots look AMAZING! I've had them for 3 days and I've gotten so many compliments. They seem to be great quality. The leather is thick and shiny and richly colored. The shape is fantastic, somehow sleek and chunky at the same time with the narrow ankle paired with the thick platform sole. Can't wait to get a little wear on them to expose the burgundy red color of the leather. They're basically the coolest shoes ever.

I wish I hate the boots because they were pricey but as soon as I put them on i feel like I found my true love. They are indeed feeling like 1 size larger. I got my usual size 7 but the boots fit like an 8. This isn’t too much of an issue after putting on winter thicker socks they feel perfectly fine.

I almost always go for the size 7 I’m docs. I’m usually a size 7.5. The 7 was way too big and I sized down even further to the 6. Fits great!

I love Dr. Martens Rometty boots. I find them to be true to size -- BUT they require an insert to be true. I am typically a 7.5 - 8, with a narrower foot. I have a size 6/US women's 8 in these Rometty boots. I use a pair of HappyFeet inserts in these boots as well as in many other of my Doc Martens. HappyFeet has different profiles of inserts and I have the gray and light green; tailor your HappyFeet insert depending on your feet and the shoe or boot (info on their website and/or I bought several pairs on Zappos. They last forever and are so much higher-quality than, say, the Dr. Scholls or similar purchased in a drug store.) These Rometty boots have the perfect height heel to give some height without being uncomfortable. They are my go-to going-out-to-dinner boot. I also wear them when it rains. Get lots of compliments and inquiries ("Who makes those boots?") I will by another pair as soon as the burgundy and/or black become available again in my size. Love them. Super comfortable. Super easy to pull on and go, wear with jeans or even with a dress or skirt for a hip look (I'm in my 50's.) Will last forever. Great traction, too.

Great romper stompers with tread for slushy city days. It takes some strength to get into them at first, the ankle is quite snug, but they are already loosening up on day 2. I decided to insert an arch support, and they feel like I could walk for miles. Really fun with a wide leg pant!

So heavy! Style is nice and as pictured. Fit is true to size, but the actual weight is surprising. Feels like walking with ankle weights.

These shoes are super cute, well made and stylish. I do wish they fit but unfortunately had to send these back. I had foot surgery a year ago and have to have good arch support and these had none. My custom inserts didn’t fit in these shoes. My toes felt kind of crammed in the toe box even with lightweight socks but yet seemed kind of wide in the heel area and then a little narrow in the ankle.

I'm a 7.5 and usually size up to an 8 to accommodate a full foot orthotic once I take the existing insole out. Unfortunately, there wasn't a way to easily remove the insole without ripping it out since it was glued down. Even with my orthotic on top of it, the shoe still felt large. After wearing them twice, the leather softened a little, and I had to start wearing thick socks since my foot was sliding forward. I'd say these are at least a full size too big and would size down if you're a 7.5/8 to the 7 as the 8 fits like a 9. The leather quality is awesome, but the shoe is also extremely heavy which might bother some people.

Runs very large. I’m normally a 7-7.5. Ordered a 7 and will definitely need a 6 (since there aren’t half sizes) /possibly a 5.
