I ordered size 8 women’s and they fit perfect. My size is 8.5 and I usually have to size up to 9 but not in this case. I love them.

These boots are great! I am always looking for footwear options that I can wear in Minnesota winters that withstand the elements while also being acceptable enough to get away with all day at work. I wear these with dresses/skirts and leggings. We are experiencing very frigid temperatures as I write this, and these keep my feet cozy and warm all day. As other reviewers have noted, they are a little tight in the ankles at first. I forced myself to zip them all the way on first wear with thicker socks and I found they stretched out nicely within the first several hours. I wouldn't plan a big walking day on the first day (I just wore them out to dinner), but by the second day they were very comfortable - they just take a little breaking in. These seem very sturdy and I feel like they will last for many years to come. I am very happy with this purchase.

I love love love these shoes so much. I was so excited when they came in the mail. I am usually a 5.5 in all shoes so I sized up to a 6 figuring I would need some extra space with the fur lining and with thicker socks in the winter. Unfortunately, they are quite big on me. I have a lot of extra space, and my heels slide around in them, giving me blisters and making it uncomfortable to walk feeling like a clown. I'm going to try the next size down! Still think these are amazing shoes, love docs!

I purchased these for their winter grip sole and they’ve worked beautifully. Comfortable right out of the box..been wearing(barefoot) every day and I have horrible feet for getting blisters so this is amazing. This was my first pair of Docs and I’m planning to purchase a warmer weather pair!

Beautiful boots! They’re warm thanks to the inner faux lining and sleek on the outside. The “wintergrip” is definitely not for snow and ice, but perfectly fine in cold, wet weather. I bought the dark brown. It has a redish/magenta undertone so not true to its color. I love it so I don’t mind it! The boots aren’t true to size (never are with Dr. Martens), but a finger’s width too big. My feet don’t slide around and I’d rather they be slightly too big than too snug had I sized down. I’m a “standard” medium width size 10 if it helps. Sadly these boots are discontinued on the official website so grab them here on Zappos if they’re available!

Really cute but I had to send them back. I wear a 9 in boots to give me a little wiggle room; these were way too big. They are also very very stiff and I wasn't sure how long it would take to break them in. I eneded up ordering a similar style directly from the Dr. Martin's site since the boots are cheaper there and I got a 10% first time order discount.

I bought these a size larger (UK5) than I normally wear in DMs (UK4) -- because I wanted to add an insole and also use them with thick socks for winter. They're excellent winter boots -- warm, really grippy on snow and ice, and comfortable. The larger size gives me a little bit of a clown vibe ... but that's ok! I didn't actually buy these from Zappos because my size wasn't in stock -- but I wanted to leave a positive review because I think they're wonderful!

Love love these boots! Super warm and comfortable. They did need to be worn a couple times to be broken in. The ankle is a little stiff and I wore them partially zipped until they loosened up (even sometimes completely unzipped, my heel never slipped and they were still comfortable). I usually can't wear this style boot because I have a high arch and need orthotics. Since this boot has zippers on both sides I could easily slide in my foot with my heel/ arch orthotics. I liked them so much I bought them in both colors.

These fit just like the classic Dr Marten combat boots I have. I love them so much. They provide a bit of a more sophisticated look but they’re warm and weatherproof. Perfect for fall and winter when I don’t have to wear snow boots. Plus they still make me feel tuff????

I got these for winter. I love the double zipper and the tread. The fit is perfect , they are comfy right out of the box and I am sure they will only get better as they break in!!

Order a size smaller from your normal size! I originally ordered these boots from Dr Martens and has to return because they were too large. They were sold out of the smaller size but luckily Zappos had them! They are very warm and comfortable and feel ready for all the icey conditions to come this winter! One small con is that when fully zipped, the tops of the boots rub heavily onto your ankles-enough to leave burn-like marks. And my ankles are kind of the only petite part of me lol. Hopefully with taller socks it is a better experience but for now I just unzip them a little.

Super cute and comfy ankle boots! I have wide feet and these fit me well in my regular size. The opening at the ankle is a bit narrow, but with the zippers on either side you can adjust them to feel comfortable. I have chronic foot pain, but after walking in these all day I felt fine! The heavy sole is great for city walking.

This is the first pair of Docs that I didn't need to break in, nor did my feet suffer discomfort once. Warm and soft, I love these. I am so glad to finally buy a pair of Docs that I don't need to return.

Perfect fit and very comfortable with no break-in needed. They are excellent Vermont winter shoes.

This shoe is perfect for fall and winter weather in Minnesota. I typically am an 8.5 in boots but the 8 in this shoe fit perfect. Love the color and style and as a plus my feet stay dry and warm!

Docs are my brand of choice. hands down if you are on your feet all day these are the boots to have.

An amazingly comfortable pair of shoes, Dr Martens lives up to its name! Unfortunately it offers no support for my fallen arches, I tried with my orthotics but the heels are not cupped enough for the inserts. I feel a little gap between the inserts and the back of my heels. Sadly, it has to go back. But the best thing is Zappos exceptional customer service. Thanks to them, I'm able to continue my holy grail for the "perfect" pair.

These run a little large so I sized down. My toe comes almost to the end of shoe in the smaller size, but it works for me. The in-between half size would've been a perfect fit, but Dr. Martens don't offer half sizes. Otherwise, I love the boot. It's very stylish and snuggly with the fur lining (which does cover the footbed, by the way, contrary to the answer to the customer question above) to keep me warm this Michigan winter. Can't wait to test them out in the elements!

I thought these might be a bit too clunky, but they are so comfortable and cute, they are perfect! I was looking for a more sturdy shoe to wear with jeans and these work well. I love the double zippers - allows me to insert my orthotics easily. They fuzzy lining feels so good. I wore them today in the rain and felt very protected. A great city / walking shoe!

Amazing boot. Ordered my usual size, 8, and they are way too big. Around the ankle is already pretty snug, so I'm hoping that if I size down, the ankle won't be unbearably tight...Beautiful craftsmanship, seemingly snug and warm. Will the sheepskin eventually mat down and make the boot feel too big? Don't know...

These shoes are great! I am a size 8 & they fit great, especially because I want to wear a thicker sock with them. Some reviews said that around the ankle was tight. I had no issues with that but I do have small ankles. I could see why for others it may be tight. The boots do come stiff & need to be broken in but that’s normal. Thought there would be a little more fur on the inside but still cozy & comfy. (If there was more fur it might have got caught on the zippers). Overall, I love these boots. Super cute style & comfy.

I'm loving these boots. My favorite feature is the double zippers- so easy to get these on and off! I have worn them for a total of three times so far and they're starting to feel like they're broken in. I wore them on the snowy/icy sidewalks today and felt fully supported by their grippy-ness! In regards to sizing, I am usually a size 8 in boots and I have a wide foot so that's what I went with. If I wear thin socks with these boots I have some extra room in the toe area. Width-wise they are fine. Wearing them with thick socks they are the perfect fit. I had ordered and returned Blundstone boots before giving these a try and these are SO much better in my opinion! Looking forward to breaking them in more. I'll be wearing these all winter!

PRO: Serious boot for walking around in snowy/icy conditions. Good weight and gnarly tread. Cool look. Zippers make them much easier to get on than a Chelsea boot (I have a high instep). CON: Ran small on me. I’m a reliable 10M, ordered an 8 per chart, but my heel was painfully hard against the back and just fit in the toe. Sides rubbed ankle bones. I have an old pair of Dr Martens boots that are identical in the foot part, but more mid-calf height and no zippers. When I compared these to them, I realized my old ones are a 9. My old ones were comfortable from day 1, although a little too long. I *really* wish they had half sizes. Returned.
