So, these are great shoes, except they squeak, and I mean loudly. I got my usual half size larger, and was very happy, until it rained. Every step on a wet surface (other than earth/grass) makes a really loud squeaking noise that is not just annoying, it’s a nuisance. I had to stop wearing them, as I was afraid I’d wake up the neighbors if I ran or walked down the street and it was wet. I am not sure if I got a freak pair or what, but it stinks, because otherwise they are fantastic.

I liked the look, comfort, fit, and performance, BUT whenever they get wet at all, they squeak like crazy. I had them as my only shoes on a trip to Italy (we were doing a lot of hiking), and it was embarrassing to wear them when it was raining because they were so squeaky.

Have owned 5 pairs of ONs. Two of those were Cloudventure and one Cloudventure Waterproof, plus two other models. I loved the comfort and feel of the OLD models. I just got two more pairs of Cloudventures (one regular, one waterproof) and they aren't the same. The "improvements/updates" ON has made have wrecked these shoes. I have sent both pairs back. Cloudventures have always squeaked a bit once wet while on hard surfaces (sidewalk, road, going into a store on a rainy day). It was a quirk, but not a too annoying squeak, so I lived with it. The new models squeaked as soon as I put them on in my house, walking on hardwood floors (dry surface) and the squeak is really loud. The laces are too short to tie! Lastly, the shoes are not as comfortable as the old model. Although the Cloudventure is better in that department, the Cloudventure Waterproof is uncomfortable all over and is too small in both size and width. All of my past 5 pairs of ONs I have been able to put on and wear. No break-in needed. These I couldn't stand to keep on for more than a few minutes and with the loud squeaking, didn't want to. Very disappointed.

great shoes, meticulously designed and constructed. i wear a 12 in most other shes, including other on running ones and the fit is the same. i wear thin low cut running socks and live in a temperate climate. if you wear thicker socks for winter rains when it it colder, then one may wish to go a half size. note, these shows will not stretch as much or break in as quick due to the waterproofing membrane, so keep this in mind that the size you get is the size you will have after you wear them a few times.

If you follow the guidelines from the On website Size Guide your shoe will not fit.. It will tell you to go up a full size. Go up a half size and it will fit. They do run smaller due to the waterproofing materials. Also if you have narrow feet these are a good choice. Wide feet shouldn’t buy this shoe. They are expensive but On makes a great pair of shoes. I’ve owned many pairs of On’s and have never been disappointed. This shoe fit my need for a waterproof trail runner. Overall, I am happy with the purchase, even with the high cost.

I have two pairs of other On running shoes so i was surprised these ran so small. They seem well-made and sturdy. I will try a size larger.

Shoes loudly squeak.

On Shoes are generally known for light, well distributed pressure across the soles. In that respect these shoes don’t disappoint. When worn with enough tightness, the weather proof aspect hold up pretty well. But, if people are buying these shoes for outdoor purposes (you never know), then a couple of considerations: 1. The on technology is such that there are many open springs that allow for maximum comfort. but, for outdoors, you get rocks and debris in those open holes very quickly and can get annoying really quick. 2. Because these are outdoor shoes, they are a little heavier than typical on shoes and it was initially off putting for me. But, after doing a couple of hikes, the weight is helpful..but ymmv

I’ve been buying this brand for quite a few years and have really really really liked their fit. I have a tendency to go through shoes quickly and this brand seems to last really well. In fact my old pair is still fine but I wanted a waterproof option. I have size 12 but narrow feet and so it’s hard to find shoes that accommodate that well, this brand definitely does! Seem very well made and great support. I had some concern seeing the negative reviews about squeaking loudly, and the first time I put them on they definitely did! Squeaked really loudly! But then I wore them for a day and it went away. The sole is very hard and so I think it needs breaking in. Wore them today (only fourth day wearing them) in the pouring rain and went inside a grocery store and still no squeak at all! I would say don’t be put off by the initial squeakiness, just wear them a bit!

No squeaks from mine...beautiful shoe and construction. Went up to 11.5 from typical Nike 11 running shoe. Length and width feel good, maybe slightly roomy even. 11 probably would have been fine. I have a very wide foot EEE on a Brannock, and was pleasantly surprised that these fit as well as they do in the forefoot. Note, compared to other On Cloud shoe, these are very rigid and stiff under foot and you do not get that rubber loop compression, squishy feel like on their running shoes. It feels more like an old school, firm hiking boot with noticeable toe rocker. I weight 235lbs and they feel firm to me.

My first pair of this model was the STORM/WASH color "version" and it was so different than this shoe...pretty much a waterproof Cloudventure (I have 2 pair of the "normal" Cloudventure) but slightly loose (size12) after this Pacific Winter RAIN. So I bought the 11.5 in this color, but ain't the same construction...not even close. The shoe must be an updated version but much more stiff and tight and totally different outsole...much more aggressive and more like a hiker. All in all not as comfortable as the other Cloudventures, but I am going to keep it and try it long term. The other Cloudventures that I own...great; these "we'll see". Doubtful!!

Surprisingly "breathable" for being waterproof. Very comfortable. Would buy again.

Had to return - TOO SMALL. ALSO AND MORE IMPORTANT, the item sent IS NOT the item the showed and the one I bought. Apparently the shoe comes with either silver accent colors or BLACK. I ordered and bought silver received BLACK. So the shoe is black on black - not at all appealing. My star rating is based on what I know about On Cloud shoes - not what I received.

Love the colors that match my back pack. Was surprised that you had laces to tie but I can deal with them. Love that they are waterproof! Cool shoes!!

I like these shoes. They are a little stiffer because they are more for trail running and walking. . They are waterproof ( we’ll see). Great color scheme

These shoes have been great thus far. They keep my feet dry when out in the dog park in the rainy mornings.

I Love On Cloud Shoes and with Zappos Customer Service it makes them better these are very comfortable I have a heel spur and this brand and Ecco are the only shoes that don’t kill my feet love them
