I am relatively new to the Sorel brand so I am still learning my size. I wish that one size fit across the board but that never seems to be the case. I have shoes from size 8 to a size 9.5 in my closet depending on the shoe. I tend to need larger tennis shoes and boots and smaller dress shoes. I have decided that an 8.5 in these is my best fit. I like to pair boots with thicker socks because I tend to get blisters and these fit perfectly with my socks. I wore them in my office for several hours so I could test them on carpet and make sure they work before I commit at this price point. The green color (Major) ROCKS, I love it for fall and I love that these are waterproof and walkable. I am 5'9" but I still tend to like wedges or shoes with a little more heel but I think these are perfect for fall and winter weather. I will wear them with jeans and with dresses/skirts because I'm 40 years old and I do what I want at this stage of my life :)

Two years ago, I ordered the SOREL Major Carly boot and fell in love. Those boots got me through two years of fall and winter in Chicago. Rain or snow, long or short distances, dress them up or down, they’ve been my go-to boot. After a couple years of wear, I felt it was time to freshen things up with a new pair. (The old ones are still reliable as ever, and I will continue to swap out between the two!). I ordered my regular size (9.5) in Black and I couldn’t be happier with the fit. Snug at first, within a few wears they’ll be broken in - if you’re hesitant, just going half a size up would still fit comfortably. (For socks reference, I usually wear on the thicker side in the colder months). The design differs a bit in the sole, the fabric, and material, but quite honestly these SOREL Emelie Conquest feel much sturdier than my previous pair. I cannot recommend these boots enough. SOREL has always been such a reliable brand for boots in my opinion, and these boots fit the bill for me. If you’re looking for a comfortable boot that is functional, able to be dressed up or down and get you through any weather thrown at you, you’ve gotta get yourself a pair.

I bought these boots because of the multiple reviews of women praising the comfort of the brand. I was highly disappointed to have to return them because theyre good-looking boots but after wearing them for a couple of hours, i was exhausted. They're narrow, so if you have wide feet, these are not for you. Plus the shaft of the boot was rigid and it kept putting pressure around my leg. They're beautiful boots but I didnt find them comfortable at all.

Arrived from Zappos. Wore them about an hour around the house. Put them in my suitcase & took them to London the next day. I wore these 6.5 miles the first day in 48 degrees rain. They were perfect. They fit true to size. Leather gives after 2 days & they were completely broken in. I ordered black. They were not as combat looking as I expected, which was great. I wore them for the next 3 days in London & averaged 5-6 miles of walking everyday. They could use extra padding in the heel, if you plan to walk a tremendous amount. Completely waterproof & my feet were not cold, despite no insulation. Zipper is great. Overall, very happy with my purchase. This is my third pair of Sorels & I love this brand. I read reviews & even ordered Sorel Harlow. They were extremely comfortable, but just very basic. Not nearly as cute as these boots!

I LOVE these boots! I have flatter feet and they feel very supportive but light weight. These will be fantastic trekking around during my travels! A+ Sorel!

I am so pleased with these boots! They are sort of post apocalyptic chic, fit perfectly and have thick grippy soles great for slick hilly sidewalks. I live in Seattle so I more or less wear rain boots for 9 months of the year and I bought these at the start of the rainy season because my old faithfuls have a crack in the sole from wear and are no longer water tight. I am actually excited to put my sandals away for another year and bust out my wet weather gear! Out of the box they are pretty stiff but I can already feel them softening after a full day of walking. One thing to note, the side zipper ain't gonna let you avoid lacing & unlacing these; it just makes them easier to get on without unlacing so much. I'm a little skeptical the laces themselves will hold up all season but it's not like they are integral to the design. Love these!

These are the cutest waterproof boots I've ever seen. Sadly, they also seem to have some serious problems with build quality and comfort. Style is perfect; these are adorable in-person, and neatly cross a combat-style boot with water resistance. I ordered these in the Major color, and found the item pictures to be a pretty good representation of the color; they're a nice khaki-olive color. Hardware for the uppers is well-chosen, and the logos are fairly subtle. I wear an 11 narrow-to-medium, and found these fit quite nicely in length and width. If you have a wide foot, I'm guessing these won't be a great fit. The problem is the materials. Brand new out of the box, I noticed some faint scratches on the suede portion. I think with proper care, this would be manageable. The bigger problem is the quality of the soles, which felt flimsy and cheap. The heels in particular were already a little cracked, and I'm guessing these would have problems with either the faux heel wrapper peeling or sole seams splitting pretty quickly. When walking, the left sole in particular felt like it was collapsing a bit. This made the overall impression unstable and uncomfortable, which is just weird in a lace-up boot. For the price point, I'm super disappointed, and probably won't try any other Sorels in the future. Thank you Zappos for the awesome return policy!

I wanted to keep these! They are functional, cute, and would go with almost anything. And they are waterproof, a definite plus here in the Northeast! Unfortunately, they were too wide for my relatively narrow and flat feet. If you have average width feet I’d give them a try if the style appeals to you. I have a pair of Sorel winter boots that I love and was really disappointed to have to return these.

I have been looking at these for awhile and finally decided to give them a try. They look great but they are so very stiff. Hard to keep not knowing how much they may or may not soften over time. I love Sorel but these were a no go for me.

I have been on the hunt for these for about a year because my coworker has 2 pairs of this style and I absolutely loved them on her! She had me try on a pair of hers to get an idea of what size I should get and turned out we are the same size ( 7 ) I was holding out to see if I could find them for a good deal since she said she had found them on clearance at another retailer. Once I saw they were on sale on Zappos I quickly purchased since it said there was only 1 in stock. I had forgotten to add the coupon code at the time of purchase since I was so excited that I had finally found them on sale. I contacted customer service and they were so incredibly helpful and were able to adjust the price for me plus gave me expedited shipping! My boots arrived today and I am disappointed in the quality. Not only are they tight, but the tongue on the right shoe was sewn on crooked! I'm so sad since I waited so long to purchase these only to end up with a defective pair. I will still keep them in hopes they will stretch out and try to figure out a way to keep the tongue straight since I doubt I will ever find them at this price again plus the next size up is now sold out. 5 stars for the amazing customer service though!

Adorable. I ordered 1/2 a size up as Sorel often runs small for me and they were too big. Sending back for my regular size.

When they arrived I was very excited. The style, color and quality of the boot matched the images. When I first put them on, they seemed to be narrow, but after wearing them 30min around the house, they opened up and fit perfectly! Extremely happy with my purchase and I’m pretty sure I convinced two of my friends to go buy a pair too!

I'm normally a size 5 or 5.5 depends on the brand. I got this in 5.5 first but was a bit loose so exchanged it for a 5. It's very stylish and goes with many outfits.

I love these boots. They are cute and functional. I have a narrow foot and they are perfect for me. I can see how if one had a wide foot it might not be the boot for you. You can dress them up or down.

There is a thin piece of cardboard that sits at the top inside boot to keep it's shape during shipping. Had another reviewer not pointed that out, I would have thought these were too tight. Because if you just reach in to pull out the tissue and feel towards the toe, you will miss the cardboard (you really have to know it's there to find it). However, when you put the shoe on, it feels weirdly stiff and pinched/tight across the forefront of your foot. So thank you -to the reviewer who mentioned this as I would have returned the boot! It's easy to put the shoe on with it in there! Ok, so I got the Quarry color--love it, nice dark cool brown with charcoal. I have narrow feet and bought my usual size 6. Fits kind of loose on me, so it's probably true to size. I didn't see any of the defects others mentioned, nor are they particularly stiff for me. They do squeak a bit when walking but home that settles. They are great boots and really glad I purchased!

Love these boots!! I initially ordered a size up (8) but it was too big. The 7.5 fits perfectly. The color is beautiful and the look of the boot is very stylish. They are comfortable as well.

These boots are very comfortable. Stylish. May run slightly large in size, but using moderately thick socks works perfectly. I love these boots.

These boots are SO CUTE. I'd recommend sizing up a half size. I usually wear a 7, but I ordered a 7.5 and they fit great. You'll especially want that extra half size if you plan to wear thicker socks. Can't wait to break these in. So stylish! Sorel never disappoints.

I have a few Sorel boots that I've acquired over the years and always fluctuate between 2 sizes. I order these in the larger size and they fit well. The heel is tight as some other reviews stated, but I'm hoping that it will break in over time. The boots are water-proof, which is great! However, my feet do get really hot in them when indoors so they might not be the best for warmer situations. Overall, I would still recommend!

For me these ran really big. I have several pairs of Sorel boots and shoes and always wear my standard size but in these I felt like I could have sized down either a whole or half size. These are definitely cute and stylish but not sure how well they could handle the elements. I returned for a different pair of Sorel boots.
