First, let me say that I have multiple pairs of the first model of Levitates and LOVE them so was expecting to feel the same way about these. I definitely did not. Why oh why do these companies that make running shoes always make such drastic changes to shoes from one version to the next? These 2's didn't fit my narrow feet at all... there was way too much space on the sides and heel of the shoe. The first version has a highly padded lip on the heel to prevent slippage and provide comfort. The 2's have a fraction of the padding and the upper part of the shoe feels thin and flimsy- not much to hug and support your foot. Back they go. Brooks, please stop changing shoes that are great to begin with! Your customers like the Levitates v.1 for a reason.

This shoe has a snug “sock like “ fit- which makes it so my difficult to get in and out of if you are in a hurry to get your shoes on for a run. The shoe is a perfect neutral shoe-with very little arch support. If you require arch support I do not recommend this shoe. This is a great shoe for weight training at the gym--and maybe minimal miles no more than 4 miles. It’s very fashionable the color and design are gorgeous-however if you are a triathlete/serious runner this shoe is just a baseline shoot for a minimal miles.

I have previously worn the Levitate 1. I had two pairs of that model. I usually size up a 1/2 size in my exercise and running shoes so my toes doesn’t suffer impact. In the last Levitate shoe, I needed a size 10. I initially ordered the Levitate 2 in a size 10 as well but found them to be too long. I sized back down to a 9.5 and found it to fit much better. I am a BODYATTACK instructor and find this shoe to have wonderful cushion and support for high impact plyometric moves as well as HIIT workouts. I strongly recommend.
The only small complaint I have is that the cushioning on the inside behind the heel pulls my no-show socks down a little as I exercise. That could be solved with wearing taller socks, although I don’t normally wear that style of socks. Also I bought these shoes in the tan/rose combination and I love how subtly feminine they are.

Just perfect?? I could do a commercial for this shoe! Its Amazing ???I have plater fasciitis (extreme). I wear Protalus inserts ( which are also amazing). I haven’t worn sneakers in forever . I was going on a trip to Europe and was concerned about how I would endure all the walking. After hearing about the Brooks from friends I tried a pair with my inserts. I’ve ordered 4 different ones and took 2 on my trip. It was such a thrill to NEVER complain about my feet!! I can’t say enough about the Brooks and the Protalus inserts. The combo makes me feel “close to cured” of nagging foot pain. My most favorite Brooks is the Levitate 2. They are so comfortable! I can’t wait to order the other colors. The colors are so fun!

I’ve been a ghost fan for years until the 11 came out. It was so different from previous models and horribly uncomfortable I was forced to look at other options. This shoe was an excellent alternative, I keep telling people it’s like running on pillows. Will probably continue to run on the levitate model form now on!! I usually wear a half size larger in running shoes, this is probably a sniffed bigger than that.

I like they fit my narrow foot. I Loved them for the first stretch of my evening walk, but during the second half of my walk they rubbed a blister on my heel. Kinda bummed.

I’ve worn Brooks for the past 7 years. I normally wear a 10 in every shoe but Brooks where I am always a full size larger in any of their running shoes, Launch, Ghost, Levitate 1. These shoes however ran large. I initially ordered an 11 as I always do and they were too big. Comparing them sole to sole to the Levitate 1 they were a half a size larger. The 10.5 fit perfectly.

I got so many compliments on this shoe at work... likewise I have gloriously annoyed half my coworkers with the attached bells. I would highly recommend them as the gift that keeps on giving!

First let me say the general fit and comfort level was perfect. I loved the style and the colors. Then I put them on (I ordered 2 pair) and couldn't even walk across the room ! The heel part of the shoe is so oddly designed it would have to dig into your heel regardless of the size or shape of your foot. I can't understand how this got made like this. I like the shoe so much I actually wondered if I cut off the part of the heel that causes the pain but then realized that was nuts. Too bad, it's a really nice sneaker other than the heel issue and I have to return them and start all over again. I am attaching 2 photos, you can tell just by the photos that it's never going to work.

I have several pairs of the original Levitates and totally love them! I can run miles in them straight out of the box. I even BQ'd in them!! Now that Brooks has drastically changed the shoe, I'm at a lost. The collar on the new Levitates is very thin (not well padded like the originals) and the lacing sits a lot higher on the ankle. It's such a weird, odd, and uncomfortable feel. I tried loosening the laces, tightening them, and even leaving a loop out. But the shoe would be too loose or want to fall off my foot. Is the intention to be more fashionable instead of a performance shoe?? Whatever, it is I'm sending the new Levitates back! So disappointed. Time to stock up on the originals or find a new running shoe. Why do companies do this when they had it right the first time?

I am diabetic and have been having a lot of foot pain. I also have degenerative disk disease. I was looking for a shoe that would help keep me walking. I know in the long run that is the best thing I can do for myself.
After reading what others had said on this shoe I did go up a 1/2 size when ordering. That worked out perfect. I loved the ankle support this shoe gave me. IT had a soft insole and a moderate arch support. I posted on FB about this shoe and a lot of my friend said they had been wearing and loving Brooks for years. I have no Idea how I had never heard of them. I do believe this will be my new shoe.
I'm sharing a photo. In it you can see how my legs were already swollen. I took off one pair of socks and the line is still there. So my feet were swollen when I first tried them.

These shoes are extremely comfortable and the fit was spot on for me. The arch support isn't bad but could be a little better. The shoes are attractive and I've had compliments on them already and I've only had them for a day.

I will never wear another brand of sneakers again. These are amazing. Super comfortable and very stylish. Plenty of room without toe crowding but still fits snugly. Hooked!

I like the color combo, but the shoe is wider in the toe box, then the '17 and '18 models. I also did not like they came up higher under my ankle bone. If your feet tend to need a little more width, then you will like these.

First off, I love Brooks! I took a two year sabbatical after the birth of my last child and I am finally getting back in the swing of things. My newest obsession is trail running/climbing/falling down however, I know that in order to get back in shape I need to log adequate miles on the pavement as well. My previous Brooks, Launch 3, are worn to threads, literally the inside of the sole and around the collar is falling apart they have been worn and washed so many times (and yes, I'm aware it's hard on shoes to wash them but I just have to). My ONLY complaint about the Launch's' was the heel collar, I literally have calluses on my ankles from rubbing so when I saw that the Levitate 2 "appeared" to have knit collar my heart jumped for joy! However, I knew the moment I opened the box not everything was as it appeared. The stretch knit collar is basically an after thought for looks, it didn't even fit/form to my ankle. Rather it stuck straight up and I could tell that within time it will actually fold over and create an annoying flapping sound. This shoe has the typical over-cushioned (in my mind) collar but they just placed it below this pseudo-collar which in turns put pressure lower on my ankle and just feels awkward all around. Sadly these are going back, the colors however, so cute, Brooks knows how to make bright and flashy shoes for sure. Thanks zappos for free return shipping, you guys are the best!

This shoe is a radical departure from the original Levitate. I had a couple pair of the 1st version and loved them. These 2's are vastly different. My main issue with them is the sueded achilles cushion constantly eats my sock down into my shoe. I have to reach down every 3 miles or so and yank them back up. I wear Features, Swift Wick and Experia socks and they ALL get eaten down into the shoe. After many pair of Ghost, several pair of Glycerine and 2 pair of Levitate 1's, this has never been an issue until now. The achilles cushion FEELS good, but I think it's the sueded covering that makes it grip the sock and with each stride, feeds the sock down into the shoe. I'm panicking now because I have to replace this shoe with something else and break them in before my next half marathon in 2 weeks!!! And have another one 2 weeks after that. I can't race while having to fish my socks up every 3 miles! Additionally, the back comes up higher than the last version, and that knit edge is hard and almost sharp, so it made a little cut in my heel after it ate my sock, and going sock-less isn't an option for that reason and because I run in freezing/sub freezing temps where wool socks are a necessity.

These are by far my favorite running shoes. I am so sad that the Levitate 3 is so different and had negative reviews on the changes Brooks made to them. I actually didn’t buy those because of the reviews and saw these were still available so I grabbed them while I could! I hope that Brooks redesigns the series 4 back to like the series 2.
These shoes do seem to run a half size too long, however, if you have narrower feet, these are for you! I don’t have super narrow feet, but I cannot wear Reebok, Nike, Adidas, and many others because their shoes are too wide and they often don’t offer many narrower options that are as great as these. This is my 3rd pair and I’ll be saving them for my long runs only until my other pairs completely wear out on the short runs.

This is my second pair of the Brooks levitate 2. My “go to” running shoes for distance are actually the Brooks Glycerin but they look horrible so I buy the Levitates for vacation running shoes (because they look cool as street shoes) but are still great for some under 8 mile road runs. I get compliments on the colors all the time. I use inserts in all my shoes so I can’t really opine on the Brooks insert But in general, Brooks makes a great shoe. The Levitate probably offers more support in lieu of cushion.

I thought these were great, comfy and cute. Then the soles of both shoes split all the way across less than 6 months after purchase. They weren’t used for running but for everyday walking and standing at work. I love brooks but I won’t purchase levitate again.

This is my third pair of Levitate 2s. They were among my favorite shoes at my last fitting. While they are on the heavy side, I use them for speed work and shorter runs where their responsive midsole can come in handy. I haven’t taken them much past 8-9 miles as I prefer my Brooks Glycerins for longer runs, but this is a personal preference and I know people that use Levitates for half and full marathon distances. I also don’t like the tread as much in rainy conditions, since it doesn’t grab as much as other shoes. These aren’t as cushy as other Brooks, so I don’t know if they’d be a good choice for someone looking for an “on my feet all day” shoe. Beyond that, they are gorgeous shoes.
