Boot is really well made and i love the look. They felt narrow to me but seem to be breaking in some. The major problem is where the tongue folds against your ankle. It's too thick and pokes you in the ankle.(check photo) Bad design. I"ve checked out other boots to see why this doesn't happen in them and they have padding above where the "tongue" ends to even out the areas so as not to poke you. i may have to return these if i don't find a solution. but having to solve problems for a boot at this price point isn't really acceptable.

These are one of the most comfortable solid fitting work boot ever!. I work at a large operation plant where there's a lot of walking, bending down. These boots give great ankle support and after 12hr days my feet and legs are still in good shape. I HIGHLY recommend these boots! waterproof, safety toe & American Made..

These boots have been very good so far. The only complaint is that the lace hooks can poke into your ankle if you do not have the tongue pulled in far enough when lacing. Overall very good steel toe boots

I waited to review these boots until I had a chance to really break them in. They are amazing for my feet and back walking in a commercial environment all day. The leather is wearing nicely but I do condition them every couple of months. The only complaint I honestly have is the sole is wearing faster than I had expected with the price range. All and all they are great boot and extremely comfortable, my lower back stopped aching once I started wearing these.

Love this boot. The 11.5 fits true to size. I usually need a wide size but the regular fits fine. Other people have complained about the tongue, and it was a bit fiddly the first couple times, but it sorts itself out. Once I laced them up, I used a pen to poke down the fold in the tongue to make it lay correctly. It is the same design as my Danner mountain lights. There wasn't really a break in period, they were fairly comfy out of the box.

Originally ordered a 8.5 as all my Thorogood’s after three days the tongue was killing my foot so I ordered an 8 they are by far the best pair I’ve had, so comfortable I’m a Union Carpenter and on concrete all day, And Zappos excellent customer service returned the worn 8.5! Excellent service!

It took me about two full days of work before breaking these in. Real comfortable and solid boot. The leather, sole and stitches are of high quality. Everything about this boot is durability. Always fast shipping from Zappos!

Like other have posted the tongue man, just can't get past the tongue it pushes on the ankle and causes discomfort, I filled out for a return within the first 20 min of them arriving at my house.

Like the style but the tongue crease on the insides rubs too much on my ankles and swells it up. Bruising it. Hard to walk on them

Took a month to break in. Definitely comfortable and stylish. I get compliments all the time by random people.

Awesome pair of boots. I wear these all the time and when they wear out i order another pair.

They were very comfortable took a day to break them in. Really good look and wore them all day.

Got these to treat hubby who does masonry work and usually buys crap shoes and tosses them every 6 months. They are stylish and comfortable and can be worn out as well as worn to work every day. He loves them and they look great. They are not as smelly as the ones he had. Worth the money because they can be re-soled if they wear down.

The fit was great, although I see what the other reviewers meant with the tongue being weird. I still took the risk and got the shoes anyways because I figured I would be able to deal with whatever issue they had. Overall, they are great! They fit exceptionally well. I normally am size 8 and ordered 8.5 and they are perfectly snug. If you are unsure with your regular size I would recommend going up half a size. They aren't that heavy, but a bit clunky to walk around in. My girlfriend was amused with me being 1" taller due to these shoes! I'm worried the soles will get worn down fast due to the material but I don't have a lot of experience with that so it would be hard for me to gauge. For the tongue issue, yes I could see it being a problem if you exceptionally active or need to move around a lot in these shoes, or hate having to adjust them slightly once they are tied on your foot. Like another reviewer recommended, I have to stick a pen underneath and make sure the tongue lays flat on my left shoe, but once I tie it, the tongue doesn't go back into an uncomfortable position. I'm assuming once the shoes get broken in that this will become less of an issue.

LOVE them! Unbelievably comfortable, great looking and super sturdy. Soles seem to be wearing a little fast is my only complaint. Definitely buying another pair ASAP.

they look great and are comfortable on my feet, however the tong of the boot is digging into my ankles so bad I cant tie them very tight. bad design flaw and for the price I did not expect to have any flaws. I don't expect to by them again

My husband wanted to love these, but the way the tongue is sewn closed when it is laced up it put pressure on the foot where the seams are. He liked the style and everything else about them, but too uncomfortable to even walk around in our living room while trying them on.

Uncomfortable

Loved the durability of the leather but the white soles wore through in less than a year. I was working on the airport ramp operations.

These boots are horrible. The soles don’t have any tread on them, and the tongue rubs on your ankle all day long. These are good for a guy that doesn’t do anything in a shop, not for a guy that’s on his feet constantly in rough territory building stuff. Slipped down a steep hill multiple times because of the lack of treads
