I just received these from another source as Zappos didn’t have the Fired Brick color I wanted (they’re the ones in the video). I have a pair of Ecco Soft 7 sneakers, the black leather Gore-Tex ones, lots of differences. These Soft 8’s are much narrower and longer, I ordered each in my usual size 39, 8-8.5. Since these run narrow I’m glad for the extra toe room, really had to loosen the laces to even get my foot in but they’re not too big or floppy. The support is moderate, not nearly as supportive in the arch as the 7’s and I had to put in an additional innersole for more cushioning in the ball of my foot. All in all, I like the look and think they’ll be comfortable but the verdict is still out. I do love the color, wasn’t crazy about the contrasting leather laces as I find them hard to tie but these came with another pair of matching shoe laces which I prefer. Unless these Soft 8’s loosen, I’ll stick with the Soft 7 style in the future.

I love the Ecco soft 7's and decided to try these. The style was disappointing. The shoe also seemed more stiff then the 7s. The fit was true to size- I'm a size 7.5 and the 38s fit well. Returning.

Love these shoes! I have worn the Ecco brand sneakers but this is my first pair of the Soft 8 brand. The leather is soft and the fit perfect. I wear an 8 1/2 and I ordered a 39. Great shoe, highly recommend!

I love these shoes. I usually wear US 7.5 and size 38 is perfect. They are comfortable straight from the box. Quality is also great.

This is a very cute sneaker and I loved all but the fact that the front seam in the toe box cut into my bunion making it very uncomfortable. The toe box its a bit snugger than other sneakers I have tried. The other foot which has undergone extensive surgery for a torn tendon and bunion extraction felt great. Too bad. Had to return them.

Let me first say that I love ECCO shoes because they tend to look great and feel really comfortable. Love this brand. In case it's not clear, these shoes have a really awesome reflective finish. I bought them because I wear all black for work and sometimes my work days go from dark am to dark pm. No fun. Since I want to be seen by cars as I cross the street and still have my proper attire, these shoes were perfect. They are so sexy with that dark sole, too! Unfortunately, the pair I bought had some flaws in the reflective finish (a spot was missing the finish and it was going to drive me nuts), so I returned them and since the same shoes were back in stock at my local ECCO, I went there, but otherwise this is a fantastic shoe!

Adore these Soft 8. Four pair and they are awesome. Sorry l returned the ones l thought were these newest ones— the ones that turned out to be Nubuvk although they said cow leather like all my others. Those looked like cracked, scorched earth. These are lovely like the white, Cordovan and , silver ones. I wear these sneakers everyday and everywhere. I’ve ditched most of my Naots for these, except the Pixie Naots. Ecco sandals are also great.

there is nothing like the Soft 8 Sneakers. I have 4 pr. I like the white cow leather and the silver and cordovan leather the best, but I wanted another pr. so I have these that are suede, but the fit is the same and they are wonderful. You have many reviews from me about these shoes. I bought my first pr to walk all over Europe and upon returning buying two more pr. the plain leather, not cow leather did not have the same fit and so I returned them. Now I have these suede with the same fit.

Different from my other 3 or. If Soft 8. Not thrilled with suede with raised “embossing of the cow leather” , but the fit and feel of these Soft 8 is marvelous and l will keep them. Tried Gillian tie just to have another color and the leather was so stiff and the tongue so high up on my foot that l must return them. In two minutes l knew that they needed to go. And put my Soft 8 right back on.

These are beautiful shoes and I truly wanted them to fit! However, they were too long and the toe box was not deep enough for me. They are nubuck, which is not stated in the description. I hated sending them back!

LOVE these shoes! They run a little long, but with European sizing, the next size down is too small. Nonetheless, I love them! I now have 3 pairs of these. I have walked from SoHo to the Financial District and all over DisneyWorld and Universal -- I can walk more than 20,000 steps in a day and my feet feel great! The rest of me might be exhausted but never a sore foot. I swear by these. I also have bursitis in my knee and this is the only brand of shoe that I can walk for miles without my bursitis flaring up. Thank you, Ecco!

I wasn't sure about the 35 or 36 size. 35 fit. However, it was too much "bling" for me. Nice shoe though!

I ordered this as a replacement for Soft VII slip-on with similar floral pattern that I bought couple of years ago and unfortunately are no longer available. These are also nice-looking shoes however in terms of comfort they are far from VII slip-ons. First, the sizing is off, I had to size down and reorder 38 (US7-7.5). These fit in length but are little tight in toe box. You can also feel the seams which is annoying at best but may even become a problem in summer unless the shoes stretch a bit. I still decided to keep them because I do like the look and find them very versatile for the summer wardrobe.

Note that the "black cow leather" has a retroreflective finish so that the whole shoe reflects like a road sign when light hits it. It's fun effect and a safety feature, but don't let it take you by surprise. These finish makes these pretty unconventional. I almost returned these, but I'm glad I gave them a second try. The arch support is really aggressive; I checked "excellent arch support," but it's nearly excessive arch support. However, once I got past that--and I did--I found them very comfortable. They're possibly a little slim in the toe box, but otherwise about as comfortable as it gets.

Had to size down on these shoes, still not sure about them. Sizing is off...

Correcting my prior review -- These are super cute and well-made. Nice leather, great footbed/insert. Unfortunately, they run long. The 38 (7-7.5) was too long but a good width for my 7.5C feet.

Heavy shoe and not at all comfortable like all of my other Ecco shoes and sneakers. Loved the style but had to return them as they just weren’t comfortable.

As many other reviewers have noted, these shoes are stiff and tight across the big toe knuckle to pinky toe. I have straight, narrow, low volume feet for reference. I think the style is nice looking but the fit is going to be difficult for many feet. I own 3 pairs of the soft 7 and absolutely love them. The fit, arch support and comfort is hard to beat - which is why you see so many people wearing them. Buy the soft 7 and pass by the soft IMHO.

Heel slips. Laces are very narrow and a bit stiff.

This was a terrible shoe for me. It felt very heavy on my feet. The sole tended to stick to carpet & floors. Took a nasty fall in them and returned them. They are also on the narrow side. Usually, I love Ecco shoes, these were the exception.
