Compared to Gold Cup Boat Shoe I've had for 20 years, the quality of this shoe is not as I experienced in the past or expected. The upper layer of the shoe seems bonded to the sole in a much different way. Also, the 8 1/2 size I ordered seems shorter than usual. More difficult to put a thin ankle sock over my feet and feel comfortable in the shoe.

Recommend going down half a size. Or just stick with the original cheaper ones. The soft leather of the gold cup edition is nice at first, but stretched a lot the first day of wearing them, and becomes floppy and annoying. I have worn a pair of size 12 Sherry's every year as long as I can remember. This year I treated myself and I regret it.

I love my new Gold Cup Authentic Original Boat Shoes! They are so soft, but they just don't fit right. I ordered 10.5 wide (same as all my other shoes) and they are just too tight to be really comfortable. Even with the wide size they are still tight and not quite long enough to be the comfortable shoes I was expecting. I guess I need an 11 wide to fit right, but at the price I can't afford to order another pair. Too bad, because I've always love these shoes!

Theses are OK. First Gold Cups I bought 5 years ago were much more substantial and lasted three summers. I bought a pay of the current version and it's one (season) and done. At this price point the shoe is found wanting.

I have bought several pairs of Sperry Gold Cup deck shoes and the insoles crack up with in a very few months. Sperry doesn't NOT make replacement insoles. What a same for the price of the shoes. I will not buy any more Sperry Deck shoes.

I've had at least a half dozen pairs of this particular style and color. This pair is not the same as the prior ones. The tan color is more of beige than previously, the feel of the insole is different, and the eyelets are popping after two months. It's a shame because this has been my go to casual shoe for some time now.

Excellent construction and materials. Very comfortable foot bed. This is my second pair in less than a year. The first pair, size 11 wide, fit perfectly. Unfortunately, this pair, also labeled 11 wide, is definitely not the same width. It's very tight, even as I've tried to break them for 3 weeks. I assumed being the same model and width, that the fit would be identical, and therefore discarded the box. My mistake. I cannot return the product and although I love it, can only wear them without socks or my feet won't fit. Live and learn.

It's very comfortable when the insert is pushed down. Unfortunately the insert in the shoe starting rolling towards the heel one week from wearing shoe.

Not the same quality -- lighter-weight leather -- of the pair I purchased and wore vigorously for two years.

I love these shoes enough that I have bought them 3 times, but they break down very quickly, often in about 8-9 months

I previously purchased a pair of Gold Cup boat shoes and liked the fit and feel of the previous pair better. These seem to be a looser fit and less sturdy.

My wife gave me these for my birthday last year. They seemed a little snug, but I figured the leather would loosen up. It did not. If anything, the shoes feel tighter each time I wear them. I even had them professionally stretched at an old-school shoe repair shop. That seemed to help for a week or two. The shoes are really well-made, but the sizing is off. I ordinarily wear a 10W. This pair fits like a 9 or 9.5. Ironically, they may last forever because I can only wear them for brief stints.

I love everything about this shoe except the updated insole that now has a imprinted gold cup logo in stead of the older gold foil printed one. I hate this as the imprint digs into my heels and feels nasty. Will return and search for a new boat shoe brand, too bad they messed with a classic.

Love the look, love the feel, but if you wear them without socks, be prepared for the liner inside to start peeling up and irritating your foot. You can try to glue it down or add some felt, but then you lose the lambskin feeling on your foot.

The shoe sole provides no support for walking. If you're not walking they're fine.

I was a little bit disappointed with the pair that was shipped to me. The box was all torn up and the shoe itself looked as if it had been previously returned by someone else. Considering the amount that I paid, I felt it was a rip-off. I think it's not worth it buying from the website. Better to go to the store.

I have two pair of previous Gold Cup Sperrys, which I dearly loved.....this edition doesn't deserve the same name. It's completely difference, and every change has been for the worse. Briefly; no mud sole, inadequate bottom (heel) cushioning, terrible leather - thin and unsupportive, and finally the laces are too soft and fuzzy and seem like they'll break at any moment.

After wearing them once for may be an hour, the insoles started to pull up. Don't know if this is typical for Sperrys. I purchased gold cups because they are better quality and more comfortable. This didn't happen with my last pair.

I loved these at first. But after wearing them a few times the padded heel insert is coming loose. It only covers half of the insole, and the thin edge under my arch was not glued well and has started rolling up. It always feels like something has gotten in my shoe. Will probably just tear out that insert and buy a better complete insole. I'm thinking I could've spent much less and done better.

I'm surprised how narrow the "wide" fit is. Also the inserts are a disaster if you don't wear socks. Two days of wear already has them falling apart.

I love Sperry, have worn top siders for years. Sadly, these Gold Cup shoes have a design flaw. I bought a pair of these in-store, and after ONE day of use, the top layer insole began to peel up. The insole does not run the whole length of the shoe, and is glued down in a thin layer near the ball of the foot. I returned them and bought another pair online. These began to peel up after ONE HOUR of wearing them. See photos. Too bad, because these are otherwise very comfortable and premium feeling shoes.

The inner finish on this show is already rolling up and makes wearing them very uncomfortable

I have multiple pairs of "regular" top-siders, but these were my first Gold Cups. I'm always a 10, but these were noticeably smaller. I'm going to go up to 10.5 and see how that works. Also, I prefer the cross-lacing (no-lacing) style, but I received the lacing version. I'm not sure if that was a mix-up or that the website doesn't match the product. I've returned and I am repurchasing.

Have owned Sperry boat shoes for at least 35 years. Not sure how many pair, finally decided to splurge on the Gold Cup. From the smell alone, knew it was quality leather before even unwrapping the paper. They are beautiful shoes with unbelievably soft leather. The fit is amazing. Instantly regretted not buying these years ago. While admiring the shoes realized how poorly constructed they were inside. The stitching in the heel cup of one shoe is coming apart and was not sewn together in other parts. Will exchange for a new pair. Hope it was a random bad pair.
