My wife and I splurged and bought 2 EC Switchbacks when we were first married in 1995, and they have performed perfectly since then. So now that my daughters are old enough to have their own good suitcases, I bought 2 EC 4WD Expanses for them. They are such nice bags, they are the perfect size for most travel, and they really are an upgrade from the 25 year old Switchback, so I bought my wife one also. EC makes high quality gear, and they honor their lifetime warranty. In year 15, one of the Switchbacks had the water resistant coating fail on the detachable daypack, and EC sent me a new one without any hassle. That is how you create customer loyalty.

Holds more than I thought it would. So lightweight and easy to maneuver. Can turn it sideways and it fits easily down airplane or bus aisles. Perfect for a recent group trip to Europe.

After using my previous Eagle Creek carryon for 16 years I decided I'd get a new one. The old one still works- all zippers, the rollers and it went through 7 years of flying 3 out of 4 weeks. That's Eagle Creek quality I got this new bag for my Birthday. While I haven't taken my trip yet I have filled the bag and rolled it all around the house. It doesn't fit quite as much as my old bag but still is great for weekend or even single person 4 day trips. The zippers have worked fine and while smaller, it surprisingly held more than I thought. It does require a medium garmet bag whereas my old one held up to a large.

I have only used my new suitcase once so far. I went for a weekend trip with two friends. We planned to bike and sightsee. My suitcase had more than enough room and I love the pockets. I was super glad to notice how light the bag is even with my clothes for the weekend and more. Thanks, Eagle Creek! I love my bag!

I think the space is exactly what fits in a US carry on, so all the room is utilized, since the inside of the bag is very roomy. The component parts are all heavy duty, yet the overall design is a lightweight bag with incredible mobility. If only I could travel around an airport as effortlessly!

Just took the suitcase on it's first flight. No problems fitting in the Southwest airlines overhead storage. Love having a suitcase that I can wheel down the airplane aisle rather than carry.

Love how light it is, and the 4 wheels work great. Well constructed, should last a long time

I never check luggage so the quality of my carryon is critical. I'm utterly delighted with this carryon: my high expectations from the description and from my knowledge of Eagle Creek quality were exceeded by the actual product. For me, the quality of the wheels was the most important, followed by simplicity and capacity within airline carryon size constraints. Like "baby bear's bed" it is exactly right. Thank you!

What I like the most about it is its maneuverability while walking through. Great, sturdy wheels. Improvement opportunities: more inside space.

I wanted a 4 wheel carry-on and this is perfect. Like other reviews said, it does fall forward if the front compartments are packed heavily. Leave most of the bulk in the lower main compartment to alleviate that. I love how lightweight this is and it holds more than expected. Great for 3-4 night trips.

I have fallen in love with Eagle Creek since I bought the Ease 4 wheeled collection in all sizes for myself and my husband's frequent cross-continental travels. Now that our family is expanding we needed another carry-on for the little one. We bought and have used this bag once. I'd say this is a basic bag for a basic price. I am OK with it but don't love it. I didn't know what a #10 zipper is - turns out it's big and chunky not elegant and smooth. In fact, the bag is not elegant, it actually looks and feels a bit like a cross between a duffle and a rolling suitcase. That's fine as it's a matter of preference I supposed but there is actually one feature I really dislike that would keep me from buying it again - the part of the bag that swings open is unreinforced with the traditional stiff plastic coated wire that helps the "door" of the bag retain its shape when packed. I'm a bit disappointed because it's such a simple and silly omission that keeps me from recommending this bag wholeheartedly. It makes the packed bag bulge in a rounded sort of way and makes it more difficult to pack the inner pocket on that door as it doesn't fully maintain itself upright. Nonetheless - basic bag, basic price. If you like rugged with quality This might be your bag :)

Surprisingly small bag and the zippers appear to be the weak points. Fabric is fine as are the wheels, but everything else appears to be very cheaply made. I worry that it will not last nearly as long as some of my Samsonite bags (which cost substantially less than this bag). Disappointed, especially for the cost.

I often use SAS or Norwegian, both have the dimensions 40 (EC35) *55 (EC56) * 20 (EC22 or 23) Almost all Eagle Creek carry ons are not fitting the airlines standrads, and in Europe, this is often meassured at gate. It is not an option to buy this item.

Flew international with my new suitcase. I loved everything about it until I stood it up and it fell over. If you pack anything in the front pocket it will fall forward.

I used this roller on over 10 flights over the past 2 months, and it is such a disappointment. I'm happy with other Eagle Creek products, but his roller design is horrible. It does not roller easily over the carpeted sections in airports. This is my first roller, so I thought it's just the nature of a roller....until I saw someone else easily roll a different bag up a carpeted ramp while I had to resort to pulling mine up on 2 wheels. I borrowed my friend's roller (different brand) for a trip and it works like it should on the carpeted sections. It had bigger, double wheels. Hopefully Eagle Creek will redesign the Expanse AWD.
