My dog is about 22 lbs with long legs making bag without height uncomfortable for her to move around or stretch out. This bag delivered size wise and exceeded expectation in features and all over quality for the price point. I can now bike with my dog, travel, etc... Highly recommend.

We have a dachshund mix named Lewis. We love to take him absolutely everywhere, but his little legs get tired out pretty quickly. We've been looking for a dog carrier for years, but most carriers require dogs to sit or perch upright, which puts strain on their backs. With Lewis being part dachshund, we are very careful about his back. This is the only backpack we've found where he can lay down flat with his whole body supported. He absolutely loves it. It is so comfortable for him. He'd be happy to stay in it all day. If you have a dachshund, this is the perfect backpack for your pup! It's also super comfortable for me to wear, and has plenty of pockets for me to store everything both Lewis and I need without taking up any of Lewis's space. I absolutely love this backpack!

This is my favorite carrier so far. It's a backpack, so not awkward or bad for the shoulders, with double straps to keep it secure. My dog is a 10lb minpin so he loves curling up or sticking his head out, and there's plenty of space for a blanket in the dog compartment for cold NY winters. It's also pretty incognito so people don't know I'm carrying a dog. Love that it has space for my stuff, too.

Gorgeous backpack with lots of space. I've had lots of compliments on it! Great for backpacking or if you carry lots of books or have a laptop. Really stylish and cool looking!

While I wish it had more storage for my stuff (and not at the pup's cost inside the bag), this bag is great. It's waterproof, awesome for flights (so much less cumbersome than a pet carrier) and, with a little dog bed tucked into the base, my small pooch is happy in it for a surprising length of time. I don't use the chest or waist straps-- don't find them necessary. Very sturdy. Super comfortable, even when it's hot out. I'll be using this for a really long time to come!

The Timbuktu backpack is absolutely so stylish, I enjoy when walking my dog and I can pit her right inside. There is lots of pockets, the feature of the water dish is one of my favorites. I've gotten more compliments when I'm wearing it, the days I don't have the dog with me, it's perfect for taking my daughter and all of her stuff to the park. You can tell how wel made it is, definitely made to last.

I use the medium Mutt Mover light on my daily NYC train commute. My pup is a small 15 lbs and fits perfectly in the bag, with plenty of room to lay down (with his head out of the window). The back padding on this new model is stellar and the spine cut out makes wearing the bag for longer periods of time more comfy. I love the deep zip pocket which houses all of my pup's gear. The bag has a nice steardy frame with a pliable zip up flap so it doesn't crush my furry travel mate. This bag is ideal for trains and taking your dog for a bike ride. Sadly, it's a bit too tall to use on an airplane. THIS BAG IS AWESOME AND IS A MUST HAVE FOR ANY URBAN DOG OWNER!!!!

I was shocked when I was offered to try out this bag. I had no idea that the bag even existed. I have always wanted a bag or something that I could tote my dog around in. Especially when traveling... This is the perfect bag to travel and commute with your dog. I could not believe how easy it was for my dog to get used to being in. She actually loves being in the bag. It gives her a way to go around with me kinda unnoticed. She also likes being with me more more often. I am willing to take her more places with me now that I have this bag. Its really a great bag to have.

This is a great backpack for taking my new French Bulldog around. He fits nicely inside and the mesh pockets let him hang his head out. The straps are extremely comfortable to walk around with. There are a lot of pockets and even one for a laptop. I would definitely recommend this.

I think a traditional pet carrier is very awkward to use and I personally feel my small dog gets jostled too much. The MuttMover is much more comfortable for me and my dog. With my dog on my back, I have two hands free to carry other items or open doors. This carrier is beautifully constructed. The clips, zippers, and mesh panels are very sturdy. The mesh covering is very sturdy but obviously very breathable for my dog. My small dog (13 lbs) fits nicely and he seems to like it. I really like that this is high quality and I know it will last forever.

I love this bag! I searched forever to find the best bag for my dog. He loves it and loves that he can stick his head out of the sides. Great pocket space and it is very comfortable. I take my dog to run errands and no one even knows he is in there unless they look closely. I also bought the phone case that attaches to the bag and I love that also. My iPhone 7 Plus fits in it along with other things.

Highly recommended product. Well made. It's a cool looking bag that fits dogs of "most" shapes and sizes. Must check it out if you are looking to take your pup everywhere. I know.. I do!

Previously I complained about the lack of a water bottle sleeve on my Lightweight Muttmover, which is unheard of in Timbuk2 bags. And it remains unheard ofI found the sleeve elastic was trapped in the zipper of the lower mesh vent for my dog. Once I was able to tear it loose, the sleeve works quite well. My apologies to all. I've upped my rating to 4 stars. I do stand by my assertion some type of rings or loops around the bottom would make this almost ideal, for attaching a rolled up Matt for my dog. I have a Kurgo bag that does the trick, so I use it more often than this bag. Maybe LWMM 2.0 will incorporate more minor but critical improvements

When I first opened the bag from the packaging, my first thought was HOLY COW it's bigger than I thought! I hesitated to take it out, just based on the size. We live in a very dog friendly area, and I take my french bulldog out quite a bit when the weather is nice (which it FINALLY is!). Every time I went out for a walk I hesitated bringing the bag (mostly because I'm a fairly small girl, and I felt like the bag was giant on me). BUT, what helped me get used to it, was oddly enough, my brother coming over and oogling over how rad it is (something about my brother wanting it brought out the child in me. NO! IT'S MINE!) . It fits my 17 pound french bulldog perfectly, although she doesn't like the process of being zipped into it. However once its zipped up, she settles in quite comfortably. We're moving to Salt Lake City in June and I love exploring the downtown area. This will be PERFECT for that urban type of exploring. It just fits in the city better than cute Bend, Or. ;) I do wish there was a spot for a water bottle, but that's about the only thing i'd really add to it. I love the pocket for my laptop, and the little windows for my pup to peek out. Once I use it more, i'll definitely update! (She isn't much of a hiking dog, so I can't see us using it on any hikes.)

We have two mini Doxies but our baby Luna is a thick girl. Not overweight, just big boned. We have used the mutt movers for over two years but felt like Luna could use a little more space. The Mutt mover large seems to be way roomier for her, although I will have to have my husband carry her because with her and the back pack, it is quite heavy!

I'd recommend this to any dog owner. Makes it so much easier to get around with my dog. I primarily use it to get to and from work. Do wish there was slightly more storage beyond the main dog carrier section. But this is still by far the best-made, most convenient carrier i've tried. Love the windows on the side!

Well made, the smallversion is a good fit for my 18 lbs Norwegian Lundehund. The big version was too big for him and was a hassle carrying around so I switched to the smallest lightweight version. My dog seems comfy in there and is happy when he sees it because it means he is going somewhere. Looking forward to using it on my bike or motorcycle in the following months.

I've never used a dog backpack/carrier before. And I've come across The Muttmover Light Jet Black Light Rip and was excited to use it. The bag is great and comfortable to use. The materials are sturdy and design is sleek. A great bag for small dogs. The bag space I think is comfortable for only one small dog. I wish it has more pockets. The mesh zippers on both sides are awesome, my dog can hang his heads out. I was even surprise that it included a water dish, it would be great hiking. I liked that the bag has a waist strap and a re-adjustable chest strap. I would recommend to small dog owners.

So I was a little sceptical about this bag. I've never carried my dog on my back! Well not only did I carry 1 chihuahua I was able to comfortably carry both of my 9 pound dogs! One is getting up there in age and has a bad hip so walked are out of the question for her. Not anymore! It was so comfortable to wear on a long walk. My babies laid down and I barely noticed they were there! Now I have a jealous Boxer that wants to be held...

I was not aware that there was a backpack made specifically to carry a dog around until I received this product. This would be great for taking your small dog on a hike or for everyday use. It has several zippered opening on the sides where your dog can stick its head out and see what's going on. It's very sturdy and heavier than a normal backpack. The straps are very comfortable. The only problem I had was with the main zipper getting caught up in certain spots. Otherwise, I think this is a great backpack and would recommend it to others.

I have used many dog backpacks and I was excited to try the Timbuk2 MuttMover since it was made by an actual bag maker. I received the Medium MuttMover and I was hoping it would fit both of my dogs. I have two Chorkies, one is 5 pounds and the is three and half pounds. Unfortunately it only fit one of them comfortably. Fortunately the bag itself feels like a real bag and not a junk. I do however wish that the internal space was more open. The bag wants to close in on itself, which intern makes it look and I am sure feel smaller than it is. I saw a video on YouTube where a guy made a small internal frame to keep the bag at its widest all the time. I like the idea and will most likely do the same. I will most likely purchase another another bag so my wife and I can take the kids on hikes with us in the future.

After two happy years with the original Muttmover, I decided to go for the upgrade. My dog and I are about 85% happy with it. The medium 'light' bag is a bit longer/taller than the original and so it rides slightly differently. It's also a bit heavier. The upsides are significant, though - there are more window options to cater to more dog moods, and I like the additional pockets. I'd still like to see more secure pockets for those of us who are trekking in crowded cities, and I think the weight of the bag could be lessened, but this is overall a great product that has certainly enhanced the lifestyle of my elderly dog who would otherwise be spending many more hours Home Alone!
