These shoes are so cute and comfortable. So, I bought these to wear instead of my Tory Burch Miller thongs. They are very stylish and do not look like a typical Birkenstock. They are a little more narrow than my Gizeh’s (see pictures). I can no longer wear flat sandals all day long and these are such a great alternative. That said, they are not going to be as supportive as the Gizehs or Arizonas due to not having a strap closer to your ankle. Again, I was looking for a more stylish comfort sandal. I already have and love the Gizehs, they are just more of a traditional Birkenstock, whereas these look like a very cute sandal that happens to be insanely comfortable. I have worn them a couple of times and received several compliments on them. I bought the rose gold color. Also, I did buy a 38, which is what I typically wear in Birkenstock’s, but as mentioned they are a little narrower than the Gizehs. My normal shoe size is 8 1/2.

Buyer beware! I’m very disappointed with these birkenstocks. The footbed is made of plastic and not the usual suede lining. And for the price, it should have a leather footbed!

I didn’t realize the footbed was plastic not cork. It was very difficult to buckle, the holes were much smaller than the buckle.

I got these in my normal Birkenstocks size and they fit the same as other Birkenstock sandals that I have. For those who are unfamiliar with Birkenstock sizing I wear a female size 9 to 9 1/2 shoe and the Birkenstock size 40 is correct for me. The narrow fits me better than the regular width and I have a medium width woman's foot. In the Madrid big buckle I got the ochre color and it is a beautiful buttery yellow. The big buckle in gold looks beautiful on the sander but the feel of the buckle is cheap to me. It looks like metal but feels like a plastic. I wonder how well it will hold up over time. I decided to return these because they just are not that comfortable. I also tried the Madrid sandals With the smaller size buckle and I find those are more comfortable. The large buckle adds extra pressure to the top of my foot when I take a step. That might go away over time as my foot becomes more used to the sandal but I didn't want to take the chance that it would not especially at the cost of these. I'm sorry these didn't work out because they really do look so nice on and I love the color but I just can't take the chance that they won't be comfortable to walk around in. Thank you Zappos for allowing the ease of a return. I always get my shoes from Zappos and will continue to do so.

My second pair of Birks in almost 15 years. These Birks run large - I took a 39 (8 - 8 1/2) when I am consistently a size 9. I was a little taken aback that these only came in narrow, but they were just fine on my normal width foot. They are a slimmer fitting Birk sandal, which I prefer because they don't make my feet look huge. I didn't have trouble adjusting the buckle (which is ADORBS!) - I did have to adjust all the way down to keep my foot from slipping on the footbed. I'm not sure what the footbed is, but I would guess that it's a treated leather. My right foot does slide a bit on the footbed, so I am getting a squeaking noise when I walk at a brisk pace, so for this reason I'm on the fence if I'll keep them. I hope the next time I try them that this noise will disappear.

LOVE THESE!!! I get so many compliments and they are SO comfortable. I ordered a 38 - thats what my others Birkenstocks are but i exchanged these for an 37 and they fit great. not sure if its because of the style. Easy on and off...two people ordered them after they saw mine :)

These are SO cute; I really wish I loved them. But even though they are crazy expensive the buckle part is made of stiff, scratchy material that is not comfortable at all!. And the holes for the buckle were so small I had to use incredible force just to get it buckled. As others have mentioned the overall fit is strange. I have wide feet but had to use 2nd to last hole to get them to stay on. Not sure what's going on at Birckenstock: this shoe felt like a $20 shoe from Walmart instead of a shoe that's over $100! They really need to get back to quality materials and quality workmanship on all of their styles.

Fit perfect like my other Birkenstock’s except the wider strap is looser. They are too cute to return so I got my hole puncher out and made another hole,problem solved. So now I have custom Birkenstock’s. What could be better than that !

I wanted a Birkenstock that was actually a bit more feminine than my Arizonas are. While I love my Arizonas, they aren't as "cute" with skirts and dresses as I'd like them to be. The Madrid Big Buckle is absolutely darling. No, really!! The first day I wore them I had several compliments and someone stopped me at the grocery store and asked where I got them. So, here's the scoop. I am normally a 9 and I wear a 39 in Birkenstocks. That is what I ordered and they fit perfectly. I know that people get confused with the "narrow" verbiage but let me tell you, these are not narrow. I have feet that are a bit wider than normal and I am three holes in on the buckle. I don't normally like black in a sandal however I am finding these go with everything and the silver buckle really stands out. I also like the fact that the footbed is leather and not nubuck lined. I think the leather is easier to clean and doesn't leave that "sweaty-wet footbed" look. The leather strap over the foot required some break-in time as it was stiff the first couple of wears. Now it fits my foot perfectly and I am so very pleased with these. I'd love to order in a fun color however they are all nubuck and I think I'll wait until next season and see if something in blue or pink comes out in leather. This could be my favorite purchase of the year, seriously!!

I absolutely love these sandals! They look stylish and not like the previous pairs of Birkens I've bought before. I'm a size 10 wide width and purchased size 41. These sandals come with three holes and I adjusted my buckle for the second hole (the last one was a bit loose), they are comfortable and so pretty.

I am normally size 8. Ordered the 38 which says 7-7.5 but figured Birks run a bit big. They are perfect! I had to have them after spotting them on someone in a dept store and falling instantly in love. I am a minimalist, classic kind of style and these are perfect! Very comfy - can't wait to wear them this summer. I have normal to narrow feet. Hope this helps!!

Love the style and the fit! Normally wear a 6.5/7 and the 37 fits perfectly. Grooved sole supports the foot comfortably and the color is lovely. The rose gold lends itself well for dressing up or down!

These are sooo cute! At first I was nervous that the large buckle would dig into the top of my foot as I walked, but it doesn’t. I love the black patent leather finish and the leather footbed (YES it is actual leather, not plastic). Looks cute with dresses, jeans, sweats, anything!

I loved this shoe! Unfortunately it made a farting noise when I walked. It would be great if Birkenstock could rectify this problem.

I really wanted to love these shoes, they are cute, well made and have a comfortable foot bed but the strap is very wide, even tightening it as much as possible it was still lose and looks odd. Unfortunately they had to be sent back.

Cute Birks! - Two words not often used in the same sentence. Comfy? Check. *Note: like all other Birks, it takes a few wears until the footbed molds to your foot. TTS? Check. On Trend? Yep. And also: Cute! Brushed brass big buckle makes this simple style actually stylish. Show your feet some love with these Madrid Birks.

SUper cute and the comfort we expect from Birks. I love the white leather insole and white bottoms.

These are a little narrower than standard Birks but still work for my feet which I would consider average width. I ordered size 40 which is consistent with my other Birkenstocks. They are so cute and a fun fresh look for summer.

Love these and really very cute with the big buckle detail. These run one size big. I sized down on size. Width is listed as narrow, but it does not feel narrow at all. I have a regular width foot and it fits perfectly with maybe even a little room in the width.

This is my third pair of Madrid big buckles -- I am a Birkenstockaholic. I LOVE these! SO cute, so comfortable. Narrow fits me fine in this style though I have a pretty wide foot and normally wear regular width

These are so cute for birks! I have many pairs and these feel a bit “dressier” for work dinner out etc. I wanted the pale pink color but they sold out. Also the color says washed blue but it appears silver not blue at all.

I have had a few pair of Birks and I wanted to try the single band style because I thought they would look a little dressier. They are cute and the buckle dresses them up and these felt short! My toes were over the front edge and my heels over the back edge. I don't know if this would change breaking them in, but they seem too short to keep and try. My other more classic Birks in the same size didn't feel short like this. Also the strap seemed a little far back, like too much of my toes were sticking out.

Comfortable but only good for walking very short distances. The buckles caused large bruises on the top of my feet.

These are just SO cute. They take a little getting used to walking in but just like any other Birkenstock they will mold to your foot once they break in and be your best friend!! I love the new take on the classic shoe. The leather and gold buckle go together perfectly and I can’t wait to wear these all summer.

Super cute style. Love the aesthetics of the black top and black sole. The big buckle was another key feature that loved. As far as comfort, I’m still getting used to them. I normally wear a 9, and the size 40 was just right. I have a normal width and the narrow was not an issue for me at all. I’d buy them again.
