This bag feels like it would be great if it was the next size up. Seems like they kept all of the features of the larger sizes and just shrunk everything down, which didn't translate well in this XS size. For example, it has two "water bottle" pockets in the main compartment, yet they don't fit any of my water bottles, even the smallest ones. Also the bag is too short to fit a water bottle standing up in the bag, even if it did fit in the pocket. This bag feels like it's not sure if it wants to be a messenger bag or a small purse. If I'm going to carry a bag this size, I want to be able to carry my water bottle, notebook, small knitting project, wallet, keys, and my smalle zip pouch of personal items. I can fit all of these items in this bag, but it's a squeeze. As with other Timbuk2 bags, I don't like the loud velcro. Opening up my bag in a movie theater or during a meeting is very disruptive. There's not an option to have the bag closed without securing the velcro closure. The latch on the strap made it easy to change the length of the should strap, but it also came undone easily too. But there are good things about the bag. It's well made and durable. It's easy to carry over the shoulder or across my body, and comfortable to wear. I like the divider in the main compartment which keeps my book/iPad/notebooks separate from the rest of my items. The grab strap on the top of the outside of the bag is useful for quickly picking up the bag and moving it, but the interior strap is not useful and not a balanced way to pick up the bag. Would like some internal pen/pencil pockets, instead of them floating around a pocket that's too large. I have other more practical bags this size so won't be keeping it. Might have liked it more if it didn't have so many internal pockets that are mostly too small to be useful. I'd be interested in the next size up of this bag though.

As a small built person, this bag has made me insanely happy. Good room, comfortable fit on my small frame, and can strap it across my back for shoulder relief (can't stand backpacks, even small ones)while wearing. The "granite" color is kind of blah-not my favorite- but the bright red clips and interior save the style day. Yay. Hope to find a black one soon.

Used this for work everyday, need a simple and light weight bag since I 'm using commuter train, and this bag just perfect, the size and interior really good, with some pocket I can put a lot of stuff. The strap is really comfortable for my shoulder, very recommended.

I looked for a long time for a bag to replace my L.L. Bean messenger bag of 22 years. It felt like an impossible task but this bag does not disappoint! Durable fabric, lots of storage enclosures and a comfortable shoulder strap make this a great bag for carrying all the things you need; laptop, coffee, water bottle, keys, etc. A magnetic strap holds the laptop in place and the bottom is expandable to carry larger loads. It expands to a size that is not clearly shown in the pictures- a nice surprise! The only odd thing is that because of the flap design the handle is on the back of the bag which makes it tilt forward when picked up by the handle. Not a deal breaker, though.

The new flight messenger bag is lightweight and durable! The xs fits everything I need to carry on a day-to-day basis - iPad, book, pens, keys and wallet! I really like how the brass/army colorway is easy to match with any casual outfit!

Timbuk2 delivers again. I've been buying their bags for 20 years and each time I get a new one you can tell that they continually are thinking of ways to improve on their designs, and this one is not different. I love the adjustability of the strap and the dual sided stash pocket. Great work!

The color is fantastic. As any Timbuk2, pockets are great.

My 18 year old son uses this back everyday. It is made out of amazing high quality and is the perfect size! I would highly recommend this bag for anyone looking to purchase a super cool, durable and perfect for daily use.

Great for the daily hauling of everything from home office to hotel space in the office. Fits the 17" laptop and accessories with plenty of space for everything else I don't have anyplace to leave in the office. Strap and adjustment works great.

Perfect size for a day exploring a city.

Terrific bag! Love it! As an EMT, i use it for shorter hikes near my home and carry first aid gear, flashlight and NARCAN, binoculars, and a small flashlight so I am ready for basic first aid needs as well as wildlife watching. Very well constructed!

This is the 4th bag I have bought from Timbik2, so obviously I like the product and company, which speaks to the longevity and consistent quality of this company. I bought my first bag from them when I was a bike courier in Manhattan. In fact, Patagonia changed their bag buckle concept and design based on what I told them about Timbuk2 (yes the world is that small, and yes I know this claim sounds silly). The buckle that sinches the main strap shut is great on this one. One size down, or the model from a couple of years ago, doesn't have as good of a buckle. My one complaint is that I wish more places carried these bags to I could really see and inspect the size. I got a new bag only because my last one was a little bit too small.

Well-made product and it keeps everything organized. Makes travelling much simpler and I really like how easily the strap adjusts up or down.

I got this to be a dog sports bag for bringing essentials to training and trials. The size is great, there are plenty of pockets, and everything I want to fit fits. I've had great experience with other bags in the past and was happy to get a bigger bag in my dog's color.

I absolutely love this bag. It holds everything I lug around- which is a lot! I have a book, sketchbook, iPad, wallet, phone, pens, makeup, keys, etc. The slate color is beautiful, too.

Perfect size for my needs

I'm a social worker and wanted a comfortable bag that could be used for the office as well as for quick travel. This bag is by far the most comfortable I've tried and its quality is suburb. I wanted to invest in a bag that will last years and this one is perfect. I'm happy that I won't have to purchase another work bag for years. Totally with the price.

As always, I absolutely love my Timbuk2 bag! Such high quality, they last for years- and now even better that they are made with recycled materials.

This the third messenger bag I've purchased from Timbuk2 in the past fifteen years. Always practical, durable, and cool. They've only refined their bags with better pocket placement and strap adjustment. I take it to work every day, and the black rip stop is a professional look. I'll be carrying it when I bike commute come better weather.

I got the jade color, it's beautiful! I bought a smaller version a few years ago and it's still like new. Very nice quality and a lot of pockets. This one will be my watercolor bag for when we leave home.

I use this bag when I fly. It's the perfect size and fits everything I need on the plane, whether it's an international or domestic flight. I love the color and the spacious compartments. It's my Christmas present to myself and I'm extremely happy!
