These shoes are attractive and I like the lacing system. However, the heel fit loosely, even with thick socks. (This is a common problem for me, so probably not the shoe.) I am sending them back.

I have been a fan of Salomon hiking shoes for a long time, but for some reason these shoes run way narrower than the Salomons I am used to. I get it, save a bit of material on each pair... but the wide version only comes in one color. So unfortunately I'm sending these back, and my perfect hiking shoe hunt continues. It's a beautiful shoe for someone who has narrow feet. Colors are great, the lacing system is a huge time saver, the sole is one of the best on the market in wet conditions (my old pair has the same sole), and the chassis makes a huge difference in stability. It's just way too narrow for me.

I an attempting to replace a heavier Salomon boot that i have worn for years. I ordered the 9 and its too big. The lacing system is awkward. I then tried the 8.5 and it still isn’t right...too wide in the heel. I love the overall sturdiness of this boot but back to the drawing board.

I did not care for the shoelaces, or lack of them!! They were too wide for me as well.

Through no fault of the shoe, these were not right for my feet. Salomons are great shoes and do run a tad bit narrower than most shoes. That is why I like to try on all the styles they have. These, unfortunately, were not the right one. They were just a little too clunky for me since I am not a hiker or runner but need a good supporting shoe. They had to be returned.

I ended up returning these because I didn't much like the elastic speed lace. I didn't feel I could adjust the lacing as much as I wanted across the instep and, like a previous reviewer, was concerned about being caught out with a broken lace. I also found the elastic lace pocket on the tongue difficult to use and a little uncomfortable. Too bad because I liked the overall feel of these shoes; they were light & flexible and felt like they held my heel snugly with adequate room in the toe and decent support. The fit was true to size, although I might size up a half size to accommodate a heavier sock for hiking.

This seems like a good shoe. It was too small, although I ordered my usual size 8. I ended up ordering the men's 8 and they fit perfectly. I couldn't figure out the laces on these shoes.

I loved the style and cushion of the sole, it was true to size but the tongue of the shoe rubbed on the front of my ankle and that’s the only reason I had to return. Also the shoe laces were pretty neat, they are thin and stay tied with a special clip

Shoe fits nicely and is comfortable ... but the laces feel too stringy and a but difficult to adjust , so I will be returning .

Very good looking. Seemed a little stiff. I like the idea of no shoe laces. Returned though due to trip being cancelled. But I would have exchanged for smaller (1/2) size.

The Crown Blue/India Ink/Amparo Blue is blindingly purple. This was a dealbreaker for me.

Provided good ankle stability without cutting too high into the ankle. The laces aren't my favorite and almost feel like they're cutting into the foot if pulled too tight. They also don't feel as easy to adjust the tightness in a certain part of the foot as normal laces do. Although I tend to wear an 8 or 8.5 in tennis shoes or hiking shoes, the 8 was too big, causing my heel to slip. Going back.

These shoes run a size big. I am a 7.5 in every shoe but always run with a size 8 as recommended. However, I had to buy these in 6.5. The Merrel have a nicer fit but Salomon has the no tie shoe'lace' so this is my second pair of Salomons in spite of Merrell being more comfortable.

I think these will be great shoes for day hikes - I will stick to boots for backpacking mainly for additional ankle support. They do run a half size large. I returned my normal size for a half size down and there is still the extra room that you should have in a hiking shoe/boot. I have borderline wide feet with a high instep and arch. I found the toe box roomy and the arch support moderate. Custom orthotics may be a challenge as these are a low cut shoe and my orthotics raise my foot a bit. I may have to go to a sport orthotic, or maybe I won’t need one - too early to tell. I went with the non-gore tex model as I want cooler feet. The speed lace is nice (no more knotted laces), the shoe top is streamline and light, the soles are substantial.

As others have said, the skinny laces toward the toe end cannot be adjusted very easily. The arch support I need comes partly from how snugly the laces are laced so this type will not work for me.
