It is so incredibly challenging to find shoes that don;t taper in the toe box, and these shoes are not much better. They are very narrow across the pinkie toe region. Extremely disappointing. Vivobarefoot markets themselves as selling "foot shaped shoes", but these are absolutely NOT shaped like a foot. The kids version is most definitely is shaped like a foot, but they have messed up the adult shape unfortunately.

Id describe this as a "business moccasin." I've worn moccasins in normal settings and they draw stares. Mocs are for the small town where I live and out in the woods but they aren't for business or cities. These feel like mocs but look like normal shoes. My pants hang over them and they're as nondescript as can be which is exactly what I was going for. I'm wearing them without socks right now and they're good. I have a high arch, high volume foot so the opening is just barely big enough to handle entry of the high arch. Once in they're perfect and the laces tie tightly enough to keep them in place. I'll probably use a shoe horn to get into them for the first few weeks. You won't have an issue if you're lucky enough to have a normal arch. My foot is slightly wide at the forefoot and these are perfect for that. I have a normal width heel that sometimes slides in shoes but these are ok for that too. I'm honestly not sure how I'll like them in the long run, these are my first vivobarefoot shoes. I think they're good but only time and wear will tell. Before trying these I tried vibram five fingers and found that I really don't want stuff between all my toes, but I loved the barefoot feeling. Thus, I found vivobarefoot.

I absolutely love these shoes! Super comfortable, great for traveling, & cute as heck. Great way to get the benefits of barefoot shoes without having to wear those horribly ugly alternatives. Love to wear them exploring! Based on some reviews I ordered a size down at first (I have narrow feet) & nope. Don’t do that. They are true to size, just wider than regular shoes so they feel a bit different.

I’ve now worn these for a few weeks and I really like them. I don’t wear them daily because my job requires a sturdier shoe. I bought these because I have a problem with my Achilles’ tendon. Going barefoot helps a lot, but isn’t practical so I wear these for a couple days a week and it stops the swelling and cramping of my Achilles. I think it’s helping because it allows my entire foot to flex and move naturally, plus it strengthens my whole foot. Barefoot walking is so much different than most shoed walking. Also, after the injury I was unable to wear most boots because they put pressure on my Achilles’ tendon. These don’t at all. I used to think about my Achilles’ tendon every day due to the pain, now it’s once a week. Barefoot really makes a difference.

Love these shoes for exploring, tracking and hiking in the woods. I feel native, light, barefoot, connected to Earth in these shoes.

I was really happy with these Vivobarefoot shoes. They don’t have any insole support, but that’s the point! I really could feel the ground through the sole. I particularly love the wide toebox that lets my foot spread naturally as I walk.

I’m a 7 and ordered them in a 38, which was too large. Then I ordered a 37. It was the perfect size except i got two left feet - one black and the other brown-and the insoles weren’t in the shoes. I returned both and ordered again. This time the right color came but without insoles. So I have to purchase a different insole as Zappos can’t send them separately. Overall great shoe. Without insoles you can probably use any orthotic you want.

The new Gobi II's are true to the Vivobarefoot size chart. I usually wear a 6.5 or 7 and the 6.5's are perfect for wearing with socks, and my toes still do not hit the front or the sides. These are shoes for people who really want minimalist. Even with the insert that comes with them, they are very close to the ground and not very cushioned. They provide a covering that does not restrict your feet and ankles; it kind of feels like you are not wearing anything. I wanted them for something to wear in colder weather, when I want socks and do not want so porous a shoe as many minimalists are. The wide toe box is great; you can spread your toes. Some of the reviews mentioned it being hard to get into them if you have a high arch, but I did not find that to be the case. You just have to unlace them a bit further to get your foot in and then tighten the laces, but there was enough room. They are boxy but in a stylish way, and the leather is soft with a slight shine. Am very happy with this purchase.

Love these!!!!!!!! They are perfect for me to wear to work!!!!!! I used to make fun of my husband for wearing these and other silly looking shoes (like softstar) but after my last pair of sauconys failed me and I had gone thru all other brands of shoes and inserts, I have come over to the dark side. They are wonderful and my feet don’t hurt after wearing them all day!!!! Thank you VivoBarefoot! And THANK YOU ZAPPOS!!!

Absolutely love these. My first foray into the "barefoot" shoe style & I'm now a big fan. Based on some other reviews I was a bit worried about them being too big since I have narrow feet, so I went down a size. Nope. These babies are true to size even if you've got narrow feet. Had to return & get my usual size. They fit perfectly & of course the exchange was super easy with Zappos. These are the perfect shoes for traveling. Light, cute, comfortable. I can walk all day in them.

I bought these shoes a while ago (in 2013) and am still wearing them and they still look good, although nicely worn in now. Initially they felt very wide and flat, but as I've worn them more, they've sort of rounded to meet my foot shape better--but they are barefoot shoes, which SHOULD be slightly wider than 'normal' shoes. The whole idea is that your foot spreads out with each footfall, and most shoes constrict. Barefoot shoes allow for that. These are also loose enough that I can wear them with thick socks in the winter. I've gotten a lot of compliments on these shoes and can wear them with a wide range of outfits. Also I work on farms and in restaurants so my typical days are very active and I tend to be on my feet for hours at a time--these are fine for that.

I was so glad to see that Zappos carries this brand because I love them! They are very comfortable and cute to wear with jeans and even leggings. I wear a size 7 but 37 in EU so a 6.5 fit. Check out their Jing Jing for a cute comfortable ballet flat.

I LOVE Vivobarefoot! And these Chukkas are no exception. The fit was awesome! The foot comfort, AMazing. I love the barefoot feel, like feet touching the ground, only with protection.?. For my particular feet, the upper part of the shoe came in too close and I was aware of it hugging the lower leg, just above the ankle. I suspect, for most, that would not be a problem. Great shoes! Fabulous brand if you like the barefoot feel.

This beautiful shoe has a sole is so thin and flexible that it offers no protection from the ground below, no shock absorption.

These might work better in the non- hightop style, but there is so much loose area in the shoe that laces can't fix that they are unwearable. The footbed is the correct size but my foot just flops around in these.

Dreamy and soft! I love the way these shoes look and feel. A slightly more dressy desert boot. They have more sole protection than the soft trail shoes I own, but still give that barefoot minimalist feel, and are perfect for work, running errands or just hanging out! This is my fourth pair of this brand shoe (I have different styles) and so far they are becoming my go to shoe for every day. I look forward to buying more styles.

Love these. I'd buy Vivos for every occasion if I could afford it. I am a big fan of barefoot style shoes and these did not disappoint. They are a great everyday shoe for work, weekends, walking around and looking fairly put together (I work in a casual office, though--I wouldn't get away with these in a formal business setting). The brown color is really dark and almost looks black. So far, they've been comfortable (without socks) on warm-ish days (up to the low 70s F) and warm enough (with thick socks) on cold days (so far down to high 30s F). The only downside is that at the end of a day when I'm walking 6+ miles on hard city concrete, my feet do feel a little tired because there's NO cushioning in the sole (by design). But the shoes came with an insole, so I'll try that to add just a bit of cushioning (also, I think that will help with warmth as the weather gets colder thru the winter).

Love this Vivobarefoot desert boot! Very well made, comfortable, stylish, versatile. Leather is slightly matte finish, soft, and a bit "distressed" in texture. True to size, but boot fit slightly more generously than same size in their sneaker styles. Love the look. I'm going to get a lot of use out of these. I have a lot of Vivobarefoot shoes and this doesn't disappoint. Highly recommend.

I wear an 11 in barefoot Merrell’s...consistently. Ordered an 11 in these booties. Too large. Unfortunately I can’t tell if a 10.5 or a 10 is my next choice. Not sure if I’ll try this brand again because of sizing challenges. Zappos service is excellent as always. Appears to be a very well made boot. Leather perfect. Barefoot footbed as expected.

They seem like lovely shoes ran a little big which means they don’t really make size 5 their 35 is more like 5 1/2 to 6 but I would love to have a pair should they ever decide to accommodate my little feet ?

If you are looking for something to wear that is similar to flip flops in feel, you are at the right place. They are not really attractive and the arch support is zero. The most aggravating thing to me is that they are really hard to put on. There is no stiffness to the back and it just wrinkles when you try to slide your foot into them.
