Living in the NW necessitates a good rain jacket and this one does the job. I really appreciate the durability and breathability of this jacket during the rainy days. Another thing I appreciate is the minimal branding which is a plus in my opinion. I was worried that the length would make it difficult to maneuver in and out of my car/up stairs but it wasn't an issue. I would like to see another zipper (belay zipper?) added to help create more room/comfort at the end of the jacket when needed. Over love this jacket.

I don't have a lot to add beyond what has been said by the many people who *rightly* observe that this jacket really needs a two-way zipper. Especially given how slim-fitting this jacket is. Whether I'm hiking in the woods, riding a bike, or just getting into a vehicle, being able to sit comfortably or even reach into my back pocket, a two-way zipper would be great.

Sleek look, only real complaint is that the hood isn't the greatest - not so manageable on the head and I wish it would lay flatter when not in use.

Bought this because I wanted a well-designed fully weather proof outershell that could fit a bit better with a professional outfit. The buttoned cuffs are a less "tech" aesthetic approach, which I like. But, it would've been nice to have a hidden elastic cuff underneath, just to get the fit perfect. Yes, a second zipper would've been nice, but for everything else you're getting, it's still a really good product. I'm 5'4" and 122 lbs. With just a t-shirt, the Small is a little roomy, but fine. With layers, the Small fits well.

I love this coat. Bought some weeks ago and definitely don't regret the purchase. The quality is superior, however a double zip would've made this exceptional.

Bought a few months back and finally got round to testing it while hiking Scafell Pike in horrendous conditions. 80mph winds, 100% rain... layered up with a kyanite hoody and berghaus jumper and was bone dry after 5 hours or so of relentless rain. Have to say, it holds up on the trails and mountains as much as the cities!

I bought the Sawyer so I could have a GORE-TEX long coat with a hood that wasn't too loud aesthetically. This coat is constructed very well and performs well in the rain. My only complaint is the lack of a double zip, as it is a fantastic quality of life feature.

Wanted to love it but sending it back because of the lack of two way zipper. I need to zip up a bit from the bottom when I'm on a back. The slim fit restricts movement. Otherwise the color and fit are great and I'm sure it would hold up well to rain, so close to being the one

After all of the research I did, I thought that all of their products were made in Vancouver , or at east Canada. The jackets is nice, and what I purchased, but I try to buy USA/Canada products whenever I can. I chose this over another company because I know all of their products are made in China.

This is a great jacket, I just picked it up and love the look, the purpose behind it is exact and the fit is just what you would expect from Arc'teryx. The new tricot layering looks better than the c-knit and combined with the 3/4 length it makes it very refined. Only concern for me would be no two way zipper, would help in a lot of occasions.

I ordered this specific model for the length and minimal looks. It really fulfilled my expectations. As I am pretty slim and long 195cm, this jacket has the length to beat the wind penetrating under my jacket.

My wife and I just purchased his and her Arcteryx rain parkas for an upcoming trip to Scotland. Her jacket, the Codetta, is superior in some ways. The Sawyer lacks a storm flap with snaps over the zipper, meaning on warm drizzly days, you're either zipped up completely (dry but hot) or unzipped (potentially wet). No middle ground. The Codetta has a storm flap and snaps. It's a cleaner look and more functional. The Sawyer zipper is not two-way, requiring a full unzip to sit. This is the only high end jacket I've purchased in years without a two way zip. Unlike the Codetta, the sleeve ends are not sculpted to fit the hand. The cuff snaps are nice though. All in all, aside from the Codetta's lack of breast pocket and hood pulls, I wish there was a men's Codetta. The Sawyer is nice but missing some touches. If you don't like or want a storm flap and a two way zip, this is your jacket.

This jacket has a nice length. Unlike some other reviewers, I don't think a two way zipper is required at all. It lands on my upper thighs but because the zipper doesn't run all the way to the bottom of the coat, I can still access my pants pockets and sit comfortably with it zipped up. I'm 6'2" so maybe if you're shorter it could be an issue. I got a medium, as I have the same chest measurement as the model on the site (38") but the jacket fits super tight across the chest/upper back, to the point that it looks weird and limits arm mobility if I'm wearing a sweatshirt underneath. It fits right everywhere else and I have a Zeta SL size medium that doesn't have the same problem. Not being able to wear anything thicker than a t-shirt under this coat makes it not very versatile and pretty difficult to recommend. As other have noted, the material is pretty noisy when you move around, but that's what lightweight Gore Tex does.

Unfortunately, I just realised that I will have to keep my old jacket and return my newly acquired Sawyer. The model in itself is exactly what I'm looking for - casual enough for weekend activities but stylish enough to be worn during a work day. My first major complaint is that a jacket in the 24 series should not use the same materials as the more technical counterparts. The Sawyer is made of Gore-Tex very similar to the more technical hard shells which makes it much more stiff and noisy than is acceptable in a casual urban jacket. Instead, it should be made with Gore-Tex C-Knit or 2-layer Gore-Tex with a thin fleece lining to add some insulation. These materials would provide more than sufficient wind and water protection for this type of jacket. My second complaint is that, as a general rule, a parka or coat should always be equipped with a two-way zipper. A long jacket simply must have this feature to promote mobility. If these two things are addressed this jacket would be a hit!

This jacket would have been a dream come true if it had two things: - Two-way zipper - Very light insulation or just a thicker material. Every time I went to bend down to get a shoe or get in my car (I am going into my SUV - with the sedan it would be worse), I had to unzip the jacket. Just the thought of having to unzip going into the car prevented me from wearing it. I would have kept this jacket to wear during warmer days like 10C to 18C, but because of the zipper issue, I am forced to return it. You cannot do much layering (and I prefer it this way) because it is a very nice and tight fit. I was trying to use this jacket as my colder spring/fall jacket as well -5C to 10C. However, this is strictly for temperature over 10C. FYI: I love the yellow color. It was very unique and goes well with other colors.

I'm 5'11, 175 lbs and i chose the large. It's roomy but allows me to wear an insulating layer. The medium was a bit too slim for me. Nice cuffs and good, nice profile too. Really needs a two way zipper, come on guys! I'm looking into retrofitting, this is essential in my mind and prevents me from recommending the coat. I would also like to see side slits to allow access to pant pockets. Breast pocket is nice and discreet but could be bigger.
