Review for Zappos VIP Points(What's this?)
Lightweight and moisture wicking. I will use this a lot this summer.

I bought this sun shirt over other options due to its light weight. I have worn it climbing and during heavy bushwhacks, both of which should test its durability, and despite the lightweight fabric, I have yet to see any significant wear.
A note about sizing: I am a slim 6'2" and have long arms and neck. I bought a medium (not wanting to have too baggy a shirt). As is always the case for me, the sleeves and hood are too short, and the rest of the fit is about right.

I have tried different hats to protect my face and neck from the sun but all wide brimmed hats get annoying with packs and wind. This has become my favorite shirt for hiking and backpacking or anytime I will be out in the sun for an extended amount time. I pair it with a trucker hat and it's so comfortable I forget I am wearing a hood. The shirt is comfortable as a base layer with layers over it or over a base layer like the Phasic AR. It's similar to the Motus crew, another shirt I love, but is a slightly heavier material/ build and still breathes amazingly. Seems super durable as expected and looks like new after several trips.

I have very fair skin, which can be problematic when combining sun and snow, such as spring ski touring - one of my favorite activities. This Phasic Sun Hoody is simply the best thing for keeping the sun from burning my neck and ears, while also keeping cool during high output activities such as skiing uphill.

This is my go to product for long hot summer days. The Hoody provides sun protection, cooling and moisture wicking off of the body. I love the fact that it dries quickly, and feels nice against the skin.

This hoody does exactly what it is supposed to - keep the blazing sun off during long days outside. Good moisture wicking, and comfortable for all day.

I can't speak for the durability of the hoody as I've only taken it on one trip. But it did really well during that trip. It was in the 90s where I was climbing and this hoody kept me from getting sun burnt or overheating. I'd buy a second one if it were in stock.

Thin, airy, and well made. It's more comfortable than other brands I have tried. Also the brim of the hood has better coverage and sits further forward than other sun shirts. If I'm headed directly towards the sun I can fit a trucker hat underneath the hood to cover more of my face.
I burn very quickly, so even on the hottest days I wear the hood up. When you first put the hoody on on a hot day it feels a tiny bit stuffy, but as soon as you get moving at all it cools down very quickly and efficiently from the airflow. I'm very impressed with the broad range of temperatures it's comfortable in.
I got the color pilot which is dark, so I was worried it would be hot in the sun. But it stays pretty cool and the material doesn't seem to hold onto the heat.
Only complaint is the stitches up the sides of the sleeves and the sides of the torso can easily snag branches and get messed up. But I suppose the hoody was designed to stay on the trail. I think it will be really durable long term if you keep out of the brush and branches.

I originally got this shirt to wear in the desert in Israel in the most insanely hot days. It kept me dry, cool and protected. It has saved me from the sun so many times. I now use it for climbing in the summer and have been shocked by how durable it is. I have dragged it full force against rocks and thought it was going to tear but not even a slight scratch. the hood is awesome and I often wear it under a climbing helmet in hot conditions. The sleeve length is perfect and the fit is just right.
I keep reaching for this shirt whenever I'm doing things while its sunny out. I'm sure it will be a staple for me for many years. Fully worth it and great addition to any outdoor wardrobe.

Finally the sun shirt I have been looking for. I've switched to this away from the ELAHO shirt that I have been wearing for years. What I've been looking for is a shirt that protects me from the sun, durable, moisture management, comfortable, bright, stretchy, doesn't stink, and can act as a base layer if things get cold. This fits the bill and will be my go to shirt for backpacking, hiking, scrambling, summer mountaineering, and rock climbing. You will not regret this shirt.
The elaho shirt I feel is still more stylish and fits better as a casual summer shirt that protects me from the sun.

I love Arcterx clothing and I have been waiting for ever for this product. I have had a patagonian one that I loved for Mt climbing. But when the Arcterx came out with its sun shirt I had to get it, I used it the other day and i get pretty sweaty when climbing on hot days and my base layer gets kinda wet. But this product kept dry the hole time. It's very breathable, And comfortable. I recommend this for anyone even just a day shirt out on the boat. I'll be getting another one for sure.
Ps. Sorry for all the spelling and grammar errors I'm not a big writer but I do a lot of out door activities.

One of the best purchases I have ever made. I bought this for my trip to Costa Rica to protect from sun exposure (and bugs). I wore it every day. Kept me cool and protected- the heat was 90 degrees and humid. From the beach to the jungle, it was the best. i looked forward to putting this on for protection from sun and heat. I wish I had bought two (and I will).

Took a chance and used these as my base layer during a week-long backpacking trip to the US Southwest for Spring Break. I normally use the merino wool lightweight from Icebreaker, but I am so glad I chose the Phasic Sun Hoody instead. It is luxuriously light and comfortable with an almost silk-like feel compared to wool, like wearing heaven on hot days. While trekking the midday temperatures would climb into the low 90's, but the Phasic kept me about as comfortable as I could reasonably expect--no overheating, no sunburns and no clamminess due to sweat pooling. At night when the temperatures dropped, it also doubled as a very comfortable and surprisingly warm base layer to throw my Atom LT over. In conclusion, it's a very comfortable and versatile base layer that can be used for both hot and cool temperatures. It will likely replace my Icebreaker as my go-to base layer. I only wish that it came in brighter colors like white or light gray, and had a zipper for venting in extreme heat.

Probably the best sun hoody I have experienced of the 4+ I have purchased. Very lightweight, very easy to stay cool -- much better performance in hot weather than offerings from OR, Patagonia, etc.
The main problem is that the hood blows off with the slightest breeze. It would be cool to see more design here -- maybe a cinch system like is used on various shells, or even better a snap system that integrates with a Phasic hat. In practice I always wear with a hot and pull the hood over the brim of the hat. This works, but it feels a bit kludgey.

I've been putting this hoody to lots of good use as the weather continues to get warmer. The Phase base layers are all awesome for wicking moisture off your body and drying super fast, and this style adds great sun protection for your neck, ears and face. The high collar and extra fabric around the face provide a good amount of shade when on a glacier or a rock face and you're getting baked from all angles. The hood is also nice when going uphill in cool weather or wind as it provides just enough warmth for your ears without sacrificing breathability like a beanie or buff would.
Only 4 stars as it is snug fitting over a climbing helmet, but if you're using it for another activity that's no issue.
(Full disclosure, I work at Arc'teryx).
