Customer Reviews New Balance 680v5

These shoes are great! Nice looking and comfortable but Zappos has it listed as a good shoe for supination which according to my orthopedic doctor means walking on the outside of my foot due to extremely high arches but if you look at the picture of the back of the heel on the left shoe you can see that the heel is built up on the right side or the inside of the foot which, when I tried it on, made me walk even more on the outside of my foot. Not good for my already swollen ankles and tendinitis. I called to find out why it says good for supination and the very nice lady didn’t really know. I think they should change it to “good for someone who pronates or pronation” or walks with weight on the inside of their feet. I ordered another New Balance that has a heel that is built up on the outside instead.

I have wide feet (EE) and my shoe choices are limited. I decided to give this shoe a try and I really liked it. The second time that I wore these shoes, I ran a 5K and they worked great - very comfortable! I'm pretty sure that the astronauts on the space station can see them they are so bright but I got several compliments on them.

Very nice fit, wide toe box which works for me along with good ankle cushion high enough for my orthotics/.

These shoes are super comfy! Unfortunately, the heel part is a little too shallow and uncomfortable. My heel slips up and down with every step.

These are a comfortable athletic shoe. I ordered the Vivid Coral colorway--they are much brighter in person than the photo shows. Vivid for sure.

Most of the time New Balance 7 1/2 W fits me just fine, especially the shoes with the mesh front. These however, have a rubber upper foot that runs the width of the foot which constricts the large knuckle of my big toe to the point of pain. I put them in shoe stretchers and that has helped some, but, still painful. Hopefully, they'll stretch out more and be a more comfortable shoe for me.

Pros: more generous fit than most New Balance shoes, which tend to run small on me and have narrow toe boxes. Styling is good. Cons: feels very stiff and plastic-y, to the point that it made a "crackling" noise when first tried on. Plastic element across toes dug in when I walked. These might not be an issue if you prefer to wear a thick sock.

These are my walking shoes. I get more compliments on the color. The shoe itself is excellent. Nice wide toebox which is what I need.

I've bought several pair of the NB 680v4 and since they're not being sold at this time I tried the 680v5. I'm just as happy with the v5 as I was with the v4. I like the style changes in the v5 around the toe and heel. Glad to have found these.

Love these shoes. Good fit and comfortable! After reading previous reviews I ordered this in Wide Width and it's perfect.

I had a similar pair of New Balance athletic shoes but I wanted a pair with more color pizzazz. You take these out of the box, put them on and walk in them ALL DAY LONG without realizing you’re breaking in a new pair of shoes! I wear a 6.5 wide and have found that the “wide” designation varies from brand to brand. These shoes are perfect in every way: size, comfort and style. Just ordered another pair!

Fit right out of the box. Roomy toe box for my wide foot. Deep enough to accommodate custom orthotics. I would purchase this style/brand again.

These shoes look and feel very nice, comfortable and almost fit. The toe box seemed a bit short. My foot fit, but my toe nail felt the top of the shoe. I decided to return since I expect that would bother me after wearing for awhile. I wear a 7W or 71/2 w. This was 71/2W. With new balance I may go up to 8W.

Purchased for walking comfort and the fact that they came in wide widths. Seem to provide excellent arch support. Slight heel slipping on one foot but feel this can be resolved with wearing socks. I have wide, aching feet but these keep me walking in relative comfort.

I love these shoes. Great support and incredibly comfortable. Just wish they came in dress shoes for work! Coral is a great color but very bright.

Returned for wide width for 95 year old mother

These shoes are well made, sufficient padding to be comfortable. The pale gray color not very pleasing to the eye but tolerable. I bought it for an oversea trip. Hope it will meet the expectation.

I was so excited to receive these! The coral color looked so cute. Sadly, in person, they are absolutely neon. Like highway worker neon. Such a shame. Going back. Otherwise super comfy, nicely made.

I usually wear an 8 in New Balance but ordered 8 1/2 this time to make sure I had room for down hill runs. It fit really well and arch hit at right spot. However the mesh over the toe box is made of some type of light plastic (might be one of the new 3D printed shoes) and digs into top of my foot. My 1080s are cloth and much more comfortable, so returned the shoes.

Tried this shoe in a 9 regular, 9.5 regular, and 9.5 wide and despite LOVING how they look, I have to return them all and move on to a different shoe. I'm normally a 9 or 9.5 regular and this was slightly small for me. Length was generally spot on, but there was a spot rubbing on my baby toe (on the 9.5 regular). All 3 felt tight in the height of the toe area. 9.5 wide was way too wide for me.

Still on the fence about this one. My usual 9 medium was way too tight, so i got 9 wide & it's a bit floppy - better and yet. Arch support isn't properly placed. I'm frustrated with New Balance, maybs cuz their politics are gross, maybe cuz they discontinued my fave shoe & keep changing sizings. Probably returning these and gonna switch to another brand - I'm tired of trying new New Balance styles to try & replicate the one they discontinued. Love Zappos, tho! Zappos is the best!
