Super light, easy to clean, extremely comfortable and better than average support for a sandal. As to the complaints regarding "fart sounds": it doesn't happen that often and when it does it doesn't actually sound like a fart. Just a foot, or a wet foot, on synthetic material. The sandal is much more comfortable than a flip flop since the support is better and the straps allow you to adjust the fit. Fear not the foot farts! Seriously not that big of a deal.

I ordered a size smaller after reading somewhere that it runs long. I actually tried out my usual birkenstock size (37) last year at a store and that had been too large. That put me off from buying it then. I had been waiting for it to come back in stock in all retail stores since to try the smaller size. Glad I waited and also glad Zappos carries them now! I got the 36 and my feet are in the foot bed perfectly. They are so, so comfortable! I’m a flip flop wearer but this might just change the game because of the arch support birkenstock offers on all its shoes. I’m gonna have to get another color because I have the feeling I’m gonna be ditching flat flip flops for anywhere I have to get my feet wet! Photos of product and also of the usual size birkenstock that I wear for comparison. This style is my first Gizeh and I think they tend to run longer because the 36 fits just perfect for me.

yup, the shoes are plastic. And they don't breathe. That means as soon as you start walking, your feet start farting. Too embarrassing. Had to send back.

I thought these would be super hard and uncomfy, BOY was i wrong!! Such a comfortable shoe. I have severe Plantar Fasciitis and these feel great! True to size. Would definitely purchase another pair.

This is supposed to be a women's size 5 - 5.5 but is more like a very large 6. The European size on this shoe is a "36". There is no "35". I went to the Big Kids size of Birkenstock (34) and ordered a pair and they fit my size 5 feet. Unfortunately this style Gizeh is not available in the kids options. I got the faux leather instead and it was fine. Would like to see an offering of adult 35 for those of us. who are true size 5's. Only reason I gave it a 2 star is the probable with sizing.

I got them today. Ive been wearing them all day. They feel great. I have Plantar Fasciitis that I had to operate. After 5 years of treatment my doctor said to operate. Now I wear orthotics and can only wear closed shoes, no sandals. I have 6 pair of Birks just like these but with cork and they were too high in the instep. These seem to be perfect for my condition but you need to size the correctly. I wear 7-1/2 to 8 . These needed to be 36 for the instep to fall just right. Thank you. I will be buying some in color !!!

Best around the house sandal that can get dirty without it being an issue.

I have purchased three pair now- one for me and two as gifts- and everyone loves them! I have these and the traditional gizehs. These are great if it’s raining a bit and you don’t want to ruin the good ones. Also great to go to the pool or just run out. The EVA is very comfortable and springy/flexible. They are also insanely lightweight to where you almost can’t feel them. As always with Birks, size a full size down (I’m a 7.5 or a 37 here). Good investment. As they are made of the same/similar material as crocs, DO NOT leave these babies in the sun because they will shrink (learned the hard way) and it’s nearly impossible to stretch them out again.

I found these sandals to be perfect; true to size, the adjustable strap is great, and they are so easy to clean. I wear a women's size 10, and thus ordered a 41.

Can't say enough good things about these shoes! Love them however, I was not in love with them when I opened the box. I have two other, leather, sandals from Birk and they are stout, solid, and well made. When I opened the box and saw the cheap looking plastic buckle I thought, no way. I slid them on, on my tile floor, and slid all over the place. I threw them back in the box and thought back to Zappos they'll go. Well later on they were beckoning me :) so I tried them on again, cautiously adjusted the plastic buckle to the appropriate size and walked around my carpeted portion of my house. So glad I did not give up on these! Within a few wears outside in the heat they softened and formed to my foot wonderfully and they are incredibly durable. They've been worn to the pool, park, soft ball fields, you name it! That "cheap" buckle looks and seems to be just fine. For the price you can't beat them. I hate traditional flip flops, my feet start to ache from the lack of arch support. These are well priced but look really nice. I even wear them to church with a light summer dress, can't go wrong with black, they match everything!

Amazing! Perhaps more comfy than my originals. So versatile and I love that these shoes can be wiped down, worn in the sand, and waterproof! Excellent support — not your average sandal. Highly recommend.

Got these in a 38, I’m usually an 8.5 in shoes. I’ve always felt Birks run a little large (according to their size conversion). That being said, these are consistent with all other Birk sandals I own (I’m always a 38). They are SUPER comfy, and unlike the cork footbed sandals, don’t require any break in period. They are soft yet supportive right out of the box. I bought them to be used as garden/yard/pool sandals (since they are waterproof) and I see myself getting a ton of use out of them. Highly recommended!

These are great for around the house or around the yard...that is exactly what I wanted them for. They do "fart" but I think with wear, that will go away. For the price, they are perfect for what I need. I wanted something comfortable to slip into and something that wasn't a regular flip-flop but had a bit more stability.

Not as comfortable as the original ones. But much easier when they get wet. I call them my BirkenCrocs.

I have a few pairs of Birkenstocks and I had a pair of the rubber ones before- I hated them. I took a shot in the dark and ordered these. I were flip flops in the house, and my regular old pair of flip flops were simply done. The Gizehs fit great, right out of the box. They don’t have as much arch support as the leather soled Birkenstocks, but there is still quite a bit of support. The rubber isn’t particularly squishy, but it’s not firm either. I think it’s the right balance of both. My only issue is one I have with most shoes that have straps near the toe. The toe loop bit rubs on my big toe and eventually creates a blister. However, the rubber on these is so soft that I built up a callous quickly, and they never really cut into my skin. I originally bought these just to wear in the house, but they have quickly become my favourite sandal. I wear them ALL the time, including to work at a law firm. They’re casual, but can be dressed up enough that they work for just about anything!

I'm so happy with these. They are just as comfortable as my other Birkenstocks, but actually a bit more so because they're softer. Unless you're looking really close, the black ones actually look classier than the regular Birkenstocks. I've been looking for supportive beach/water sandals for awhile and I'm happy for the search to be over.

If you are wearing size 7 at regular shoes stores without any issues, do not order 7.0-7.5. Order one size smaller which is 36.

I am always fall somewhere between a 9 and 9.5 shoe and the size 40 fits perfectly. Super light and comfortable. Perfect for around the house and running out for errands or yoga! Love them, will wear them to death all summer!

Ever since Ugg decided to stop making the Tasmina flip flop I have been on the hunt for the perfect go to, every day sandal. I have tried so many. The Tasmina was great because it was wider than average but I wore them so much I bought three new pairs every summer. After a long search I finally found my replacement in the Gizeh Birkenstock. The shoe is made out of the same material as Crocs and needs no breaking in period. I have a regular pair of Birkenstocks that I don’t wear much because they are too stiff and hurt my feet. This material has just enough give that my feet don’t hurt and they feel like they were made for my feet! My feet are wider than average but not “wide” officially in size. I wear a size 10 most of the time and these are a 41 and fit perfectly.

I have intense heel pain and needed shoes just for around the house and these shoes are perfect! Great arch support and heel support. While I’m wearing them the pain in my heel is non existent. Also, they’re super cute on! Happy with this purchase.

I have worn these about 4 times since buying them last week, which included having them on for 8+ hours one day at work. They fit true to size in comparison to the other 3 pairs of Birks that I own. A suggestion to anyone who is trying to figure out the sizing on these and on all Birkenstocks - ignore the US size that is stated. Instead, add 30 to your typical US shoe size and order that Euro size. For example I am a true 7 and have ordered a 37 (which is technically considered a 6-6.5) in all of my Birkenstocks, and they have fit perfectly each time. Secondly I want to address some of the complaints about “foot farts” experienced with these shoes by other reviewers. The solution to this is to adjust your the buckle band to at least one hole larger. This helps to prevent the suction effect to your foot that causes the sound. My feet are pretty clammy most of the time and this has still stopped the unpleasant noises from being an issue. Keep in mind they are plastic shoes, so they will make some occasional noise no matter what, but no more so than any other flip flop would. Overall these are very comfortable, exactly what I was hoping for, and I would purchase them again.

After first deciding that I didn't love either the very bright coral color, nor did I like the Gizeh "foot diaper" look, and I'd printed a return label. I decided to give them another try based on the excellent reviews, and I'm so glad I gave them a second chance! The coral is nearly flame red in its brightness, but still pretty, and with the white buckle, very summery. These are softening up as I wear them, even faster than the cork foot bed Birks I normally wear, and giving me great support and comfort! For the price, and given I water every day during the heat of Tucson's summers, they will stay on my feet both outside on the patio, as well as wearing for everyday! I'm going to buy them also in black, and wish they came in softer colors and even prints!! Give them a fair trial on the carpet and see what you think--these may be my favorites to date!

I love Birkenstock's molded foot bed since arch support and a heal cup is a must for me, but I don't like the hard cork without any cushioning or memory foam. This shoe has the molded foot bed and arch support, and for the price I am ok without cushioning. I would not pay the more expensive price for the cork shoe until cushioning is added. I wear an 8 and the 38 fit perfectly.
