These Merrells are rugged enough for a US Forest Service volunteer like myself that logs many tough miles of hiking, backpacking and trail maintenance each spring, summer and fall. They're tough and don't fall apart when I have to get in tough positions for crosscut saw work and other tasks. And they are indeed waterproof. Kudos to Merrells on a great product.

These boots are very comfortable and put 10 miles on them the first day and had no break in issues. They are good at keeping water out.

Very well made boot. 1st day working on the farm in the rain and feet stayed dry and warm.

These are the most comfortable pair of boots I have ever owned. I have tried so many other brands of work boots and have had nothing but issues with them. I use these boots in a variety of conditions ranging from working on landscaping, road construction, and working on sewer line maintenance. They have never failed yet. I will continue to use Merrell boots.

I have used these boots now for a few weeks in the field, with conditions varying from freezing to exceptionally hot and dry (~100 degrees). They breath well and keep my feet comfortable and dry while also keeping the nasty grass seeds out, as I have to hike to sites through disturbered areas typically infested with invasive grasses. While my co-worker had to stop offten to remove the stabbing seeds from his boots, I had NO issues. I am looking forward to seeing how they hold up over the long haul, however thus far, I am very happy with their performance.

I'll start with the only negative, so far. It has the same sole as the Moab Workbook. That wore out within a year for me. Now the great stuff! - I love the fit, my feet don't slide inside the boot which is important to me because I have one foot 13.5 and the other 12. - It is very comfortable - I like having the slip resistance, and water-proofing - It is higher than the Moab and provides better ankle support - I am very happy it's composite toe is work standard certified. If you need a great workbook, this is the one.

This is my second pair of these boots I have bought. They are the most comfortable work boots I have ever worn and I have been working in factories and warehouses for 22 years!

Great shoes, comfortable, light, good traction. Only thing is the sole has a slight indent where the ball of your foot ends and the toes. It's not a manufacture flaw, but it does feel different. Don't know if I like it yet, but I never love stock soles anyway.

bought these for my husband, he loves them. he has the moab shoe he wares working at the golf course during the summer.

This is my second pair of the Phaser Bound, the first pair is where this review is coming from. I thoroughly abused these boots (hence I bought another pair). I trudged through mud that was over ankle deep, horse manure (also over ankle deep),snow, you name it - these boots saw it and never failed...not once. I have taken absolutely zero care for these boots, not rinsing, no soap, no mink oil, no nothing. They still are the best boots and THEY DO NOT QUIT. I saw one day that I had apparently split a seam on the right boot - guess I never noticed earlier since they still remained waterproof...again never failing. Seriously here friends have you ever split a seam an the shoe didn't fail? The sole is a bit chewed up, you never know what you are going to step on on a horse farm. It never effected the performance of the sole. I have kicked the crap out of more than one stone and the composite toe is still in excellent condition. I may even call these boot indestructible. With the exception of Dress Shoes I only own Merrell shoes/boots, best I have ever worn. The Phaer Bound boots are even more comfortable than the city/street shoes I have bought from Merrell. I really wish Merrell allow photo uploads - they are still nice looking boots, a tad (lot) beat up but nice looking boots. Side note to Merell Marketing: your ads for your work boots show MODELS wearing your work boots - I would like to invite you to the Ranch so you can get REAL pictures of your work boots being used for ACTUAL WORK. p.s. I would also like pictures of my boots with my review...these things are beat up but I still love love them. HOLD ON TO YOUR HONCHOES KIDS, this happy camper just realized (after scrolling down) that he CAN upload photos!!

Comfortable, durable, roomy toe box.

This is my second pair I am extremely hard on my boots these hold up extremely well. I had severely injured myself twice by following with a competitors pair boots I have not fallen in 2 1/2 years since I've change two these boots. I am sometimes on lily floors ice mud and spend a considerable amount of time and gravel pits very harsh environments.better than anything I've owned in the last 40 years And the best part they're comfortable and they look good. Thank you for finally making equality boot.

This boot is amazing! It's comfortable right off the get go. I just got my second pair. My first pair almost made it two years, which is really good for my work boots. I walk in a lot of different conditions and they handle them all. They hold up so well. My first pair took a beating yet they were still comfy at the end. I would highly recommend these boots and I know others would too.

My husband works on concrete all day. He can tell when it's time for a new pair because they are the only boot he has worn that gives him support for his back and legs. We always keep an extra pair on standby.

Great looking boots! The boots fit great and I hope they last a while. The lace-up eyelets seem a bit too tight when you go to lace or unlace your boots, not a problem as long as it don't wear the laces out too soon,

This boot is very comfortable an keeps feet dry in rain

So far I'm very pleased. Fit and comfort is excellent just like all my Merrill shoes. Very lightweight . Can't say as far as longevity yet but am happy so far .

As a railroad track maintenance worker I need a quality boot with comfort and stability. And this boot is that. The size is just a touch larger than the hiker I wear but with a winter sock it fits good. I've only worn the boot for 3 weeks so as of now the wear factor is unknown but today they still look like new. I will be buying this boot again!!

Comfortable with great ankle support

Comfortable right out of the box. No break-in period needed. Excellent grip on dry or wet, concrete or dirt.

I had purchased these boots after getting frustrated at the cost of some boots and then trying a pair of lower cost boots and these are superior to the low cost boots by far and so far as comfortable as the higher priced boots. It will be interesting to see how long they last. . Best I could ever get out of a pair of boots was 9 months. So far so good. I do really like how these lace up. They are very easy to pull into the ankle support of the boot and have a large enough loop on the back to really help get the boot on.

Easy break-in period. Very comfortable.

They shouldn't fall apart butt we shall see.

Great heavy construction boot. Comfortable out of the box. Great Foot protection. Beats any other boot on the market and I have tried them all.

No need to worry about break in on these boots, very comfortable right out of the box
