Purchased for my husband for a gift. It is very difficult to buy shoes for him, but these were a hit. He loves them. He is prior military and has done extensive damage to knees and ankles, so for him to say these are comfortable to walk and climb terrain in, says alot.

Really nice boots. Very light weight and firm support. Just got them two days ago so cannot speak to durability, but so far very highly recommend.

So far these seem like very well made, sturdy shoes. I appreciate the Gore-Tex Surround very much, so I don’t have to worry about a crack/hole in the sole circumventing the waterproofing. The Vibram soles are super grippy and definitely add to balance and overall confidence. The quick lace top seems to work quite well, and the laces stay laced with only a single knot (I know, right?!). I take a 12 in most shoes, and these are right on the mark. I do have fairly narrow feet, and will say that they’re built more for that type; they’re the first shoe where I didn’t have to cinch the tops nearly together with the laces. With that comes a slightly smaller toe box, but it still feels comfortable. People with wide feet may not like this boot (unless that’s a sizing option). Otherwise, totally recommend it!

These things are amazing. I am 100% on board with the gore tex surround. I otherwise refuse to by gore tex lined shoes because they take so long to dry, make my feet sweat, and dont stretch. I read a number of good reviews and decided to give these a go for the west coast trail since I expected my feet to be wet all the time anyway. Well my feet got wet, but not from sweat! Totally impressed. Somehow gore tex fixed all of those problems with the gore tex surround. My feet did not sweat at all, when they did get wet from stream crossings they actually dried very fast, within the same day, if they were a little damp at camp from late afternoon water crossing, i was able to pop out the liner and dry them by the fire no problem, next morning, comfy dry shoes. If there were no stream crossings that day, my feet stayed 100% dry, no sweat, no hot spots. Couldn't believe it. My other hiking shoe is the Salomon speed cross which i'll keep using for general backpacking, but honestly these give them a run for their money. Very light weight, comfortable, waterproof, higher ankle. I love my speed cross so i'll keep using them but if theres going to be significant mud, water, rain, im taking these instead!

I'm a teacher at an Outdoor Science school in the mountains west of Denver. I wear these boots as my everyday go to. They are lightweight, sturdy, have a great sole, and the Gore Tex surround keep my feet cool on hot dry days at 8200 feet. The Stream GTX are incredibly comfortable and need very little time to break in. The only other shoe that was this comfortable and functional out of the box were my "Air Jordan's" in middle school!

So I just got back from hiking the Pawnee Buchanan Loop in CO wearing these boots and I'm in love. No blisters or even hot spots to mention! They are fully waterproof up to the cuff and even when I did go all the way into the water up to my knee, they stayed comfortable and dried surprisingly quickly. The lacing system is simple and effective and stayed tied all day once double knotted securely. The outsole performed well on a variety of surfaces too! They gripped on granite slabs, scree, wet logs and rocks, snow crossing and so much more. I know you might not believe that my pack was actually 50lbs, but my wife (she wore the Saber GTX Wmn) and I did this loop with our baby, so I had to carry all her gear as well as mine for two nights/three days. She carried the baby and the baby gear and I carried everything else. Anyone looking for a solid hiking boot with lots of support should look no further. Fit my fat foot too (I'm EE width), but I think the way the tongue is gusseted that it would fit a variety of foot volumes.

These were for my grandson. He is extremely active in scouting and wears boots exclusively, even to school and to church. According to him, these are the best hiking boots on the planet.

One of the lightest hiking shoes ever with good heel support. This shoe has been holding up real good against the elements and I've used it on 2 multi-day hikes so far - 1) Inca trail 2) base camp hike to mount Baker. I'm surprised that other reviewers have complained about their feet getting wet in these shoes because I've used them in wet weather on the Andes and on moderately wet snow and so far they managed to keep my feet dry and secure. This shoe is definitely not a mountaineering boot so its probably not wise for use on a glacier but with a good pair of gaiters it's definitely worth all the hype in really wet weather.

Superb! This is my second pair of La Sportiva's and I have yet to find a shoe that fits me better. I purchased my La Sportiva Stream GTX for thru-hiking but I wear them everywhere! The high price is worth the durability thus leading to longevity. Coupled with a good set of Gaiters and you are ready to explore the moon!

Probably a great shoe, but just wish they had it in light colors. Black not only absorbs more heat but dirt shows more and would prefer more of an earth tone or other color.

First off I live in the tropics. So I hike in serious mud, wet rocks, and roots. I've done maybe 8 hikes in these so far. I have a pretty narrow foot so I think if you have a narrow to medium foot these would fit well.
Overall I like the boots. Seem very well made and Durable so far as I've jammed them in some rocks and abused them.
I've stood in streams and have no waterproof issues. The boots clean up pretty well even the vents on the bottom which I was worried about. The new tech material isn't showing any signs of wear.
I run a medium weight merino sock even here in the heat. My feet are warm but not burning or uncomfortable even after a 7 miler the other day.
The sole is decent. I've never had any soles be amazing on slick rock. They shed mud well. I like the aggressiveness and the braking. They are also good tortionally support wise. They have just enough stiffness to be supportive but flexible to move fast.
Overall I'd like the boot to be stiffer and have a better system for the ankle. I don't think that's what sportive was going for. These are fast and light wilderness hi tops. Kinda like your favorite basketball shoes With a great sole and waterprof. I also will add to this when I get them in the snow.
I'll just buy something stiffer when I'm ready. all my products from Lasportiva have been great. Keep up the innovation and good work. Aloha!

Haven't put this boot to any test yet on any trails, but I've enjoyed the comfortablity on concrete. I don't like the sound the top of the shoe makes while walking. I believe it's from the gortex material.

Very lightweight and breathable even with the goretex, super comfortable! Unfortunately the soles of these boots wear out extremely quickly... I have had them for about 3 1/2 months and the soles are completely worn smooth, loosing all the tread that once was there. If you plan on only using them on occasion it is a great boot! But I would not rely on them lasting more than a season if you hike a lot.

The first two weeks I loved these boots. Very light and very comfortable. Got them to work in SE Alaska where it rains more often than not. I have since found that the breathability leaves a little to be desired and waterproofing is a little disappointing. After about a month of use the water proofing no longer really lasts through a rainy day. Never soaked feet but definitely have moisture getting in and not getting out at all. If your looking for a good boot to do some occasional hiking in these are probably great. But if you're looking for something that you expect to have high performance for daily use in a wet environment keep looking.

I wore these around the house for a few weeks at first to break them in and make sure they were the right size. They are very comfortable and I was very happy at first. Good ankle support and fairly light. Plus they look sharp.
Sadly, the right boot isn't water tight. Just walking in tall wet grass this week was enough to soak my sock. Very disappointed as they are so comfortable. I'm going to try a replacement pair and see if the same issue occurs. I hope not. I'll update in due course.

My first impression - extremely comfortable, excellent grip and overall fantastic. But unfortunately these shoes have their kryptonite - wet snow. And not even a deep one - as soon as it reaches the vamp, cold water seeps into the shoe (i was wearing gore-tex gaiters, but did not expect to get wet in such shallow areas). And after that - any puddle can add more chilly water to mix into the sock. At first I thought one shoe is just defective, but when the second one got just as wet, the odds for a defect became slim.
I cannot say how well the moisture is wicked out of the shoes by the surround system, as my shoes were soaked all the time. They dry just as long as regular gore-tex shoes though.
If these shoes are not meant to carry through wet areas, then there is no point in having gore-tex. My guess would be that the seams where gore-tex is sewn are not sealed, especially in the throat area.
5 stars for comfort when dry
5 stars for an excellent grip
-2 stars for water-tightness

This is my 6th pair of hiking shoes from LaSportiva in 1,5 years, and by far the worst. Previous models I have owned have always provided me with comfort and good hiking, although the quality have been terrible, none have lasted me more than 6-7 months. These shoes however are a dissaster, its like you didnt even test them before you put them on market. I broke them in on several 10-15 mile trips in the SoCal mountains, then took them on a 5 and an 8 day trip in the Washington wilderness. My feet have never ever before been in so much trouble and pain, I used all my emergency pain killers for the last 50 miles of my 8 day trip, and I could nearly not step on either of my feet. I have used the Nucleo high Gtx over the last 8 months on similar trips with no issues, (except from them breaking apart), but these shoes are an absolute dissaster. A real shame of a product. On top of this the shoe laces brooke on both shoes, from being wet!?!? And they are not even close to waterproof, but I didnt really expect that either. The bottom line is they ruined my feet and my trip, and that is a first for me with any shoes. I recommend you do NOT buy this product, and LaSportiva, you should discontinue this terrible shoe.
