Shoe wore out after like 2 months. Toenail wore through mesh top. Nice shoes otherwise.

These were a gift, but I’m told are much appreciated and super comfortable

Great all around gym shoes and running shoes. Treadmill and weightlifting all in one. Lacing is easy and secure. Thank you!

I wouldn’t really call this a barefoot or minimalist shoe. The midsole is a little thick, rigid, and contoured for that category. That being said, I’m a big fan of this shoe. For reference, I typically run in Altras, my go-to hikers are inov-8, I’ve had NB minimus, 5 fingers, xero’s, etc. The woven upper on these shoes is very comfortable. You can leave the laces loose and slip them on for casual wear, or cinch up the laces and use them to run trails or light hike. I really like the way the woven material wraps all the way around your foot. The toe box is nice and roomy, and the lace system keeps your foot from sliding forward in the shoe on downhills—a problem I sometimes have with other brands. Grip from the outsole is adequate. Durability seems ok but I’ve only had them for a week.

Certainly a lot more arch support than previous models of the bare access line. The footbed feels molded to my feet and a bit different than some other barefoot shoes. The inside is seamless and very comfortable without socks. I haven't owned these long enough to say whether or not they will smell over time wearing them barefoot. Very comfortable for wide feet as well. I always have problems with my baby toe rubbing and I do not have that issue with these. Good buy.

From the top view of this sneaker you can see that the heel is thin and the toe is wide. With my skinny legs and big feet, these sneakers look like duck feet.

Fit, size and comfort are fine. THE CORD LOCK AND PULL TAB SUCK! LACE CAME OUT OF THE PULL TAB ON MY THIRD WEARING PULLING THE LACE THROUGH THE CORD LOCK. I'll be replacing the pull tab and cord locks but I shouldn't have to put up with this BS. I have this type of lacing system on several pairs of Solomon shoes and have never had a problem with the pull tabs or cord locks. The pull tabs and cord locks are still going strong on a very used and abused pair of Speed Cross 3 shoes. Merril -switch up your hardware or pay more attention to detail when installing it.
I'd also recommend:
If the lacing system is attractive to you, go with Solomon and forgo the aggravation of Merril's

I unboxed these shoes and to them on a trip (didn’t save the box unfortunately). Plastic tab on lacing system broke off first time I put them on - with almost no pressure. Overpriced and very poorly made. A disappointing purchase.
