Really disappointed with these ML574. New Balance has changed the toebox and tongue cushioning so these do NOT fit like the M574 I have worn for years. The uppers are much tighter through the toe area (at the widest point of your foot, side to side) so you do not have the wiggle room or comfort of the shoe you are used to. The tongue cusioning is almost nonexistent, just 2 layers of fabric between you and the laces. I am not really sure what they are thinking, stealth mode taking away 2 of the more popular attributes of a shoe in a redesign, and not bothering to change the name of it. I bought these shoes for comfort and longevity, and unless something changes, I won't be buying another pair ??.

It's funny to see all the other reviewers complaining about this or that. They changed the tongue to a flat piece of fabric instead of the big puffy kind which is actually a little better, but then the back part (ankle collar? tab? idk) is way taller and stiff as hell. It's taller than any other low-sneakers I have, and mostly won't go under any of the jeans I wore my old 574's with. It seems like they make these adjustments either on purpose due to some research committee (people said the ankle was too low?) or, more likely, because they make them off of die-cuts in several factories around the world. The specs get changed with each iteration and the company ends up making "knock offs" of their own stuff. Shoe companies treat these designs like they're car makes as if we want to see updates to the design every year. No one's going to care that they have the 2016 version or the 2018. People buy these shoes because they're (relatively) cheap, fashionable, comfortable sneakers. I like my new shoes (got the black ones), but NB needs to take a page from Reebok and stop "updating" their classic, most popular style.

I've been wearing NB 574's for years, and this is the first time I've ever had an issue. The shoes had no room in the front for my toes. Returned them and ordered a half size up from what I'm used to and the shoe felt too big. Very uncomfortable shoe.

after wearing only a few times the shoe developed a hole in the front and fell apart. they have cheapened their materials. i’ve been wearing these for years and now i feel ripped off.

Every pair of size 13 NB medium width has fit me- ever. These are too snug- especially right toe area. No arch support at all.

First: This was not a 574v2, rather, a 574mm.... and it might as well have been from Mars. See pic below. The last was totally different with a very narrow bottom, as you can see compared to another NB shoe of the same size. The insole was different than another 574 I had tried on. (Not my first recent experience of NB shoes actually changing from one color to another of the same model/size.)

The shoes are down in quality. Everything is thinner, cheaper, and lower quality. I have been buying these shoes for years and each year the quality slide a little. The quality has dropped so far now, there is no coming back. Goodbye ML574's. TIme to look for a new brand.

At last some shoes that don't look like the shoes-of-the-future in a cheap horror movie. Love the retro look, but then I'm vintage myself. Love the wide version availability. Search for a while to find these shoes, and glad I did. NB makes a good shoe and this isn't my first pair of NBs. I'm not a runner but wear these on my treadmill and casual wear. Great fit. Comfortable. Well made. Tempted to buy another pair in case NB phases them out.

My daughter wears an 8/8.5 women’s shoe. She ended up with a men’s 7 for in this shoe, and it fits nicely.

“Black Iris” is a fancy word for navy blue.

I was sent the wrong shoe. But I like the wrong one better than the one I ordered, so I'm keeping the wrong shoes. But there's obviously a break down somewhere in your system.

I had some micro fractures that led to my foot mechanics changing for the worse and I now require beefy orthotics that require 4E-6E width. As I have big feet (Nike size 15, NB size 14), my options are severely limited. Thankfully NB is one of the manufacturers that offers variety in 4E-6E sizes. These 574 Classics (in grey) suit my tastes. Unfortunately both my orthopedist and my Doctor both rejected these 574's so I have to return them. The issues were that they were small for a size 14 so there wasn't enough room in the toe box and they also weren't a true 4E in that they are not as wide as other 4E's. I took some photos with a pen for reference to help the viewer gauge the sizing (I also included photos of them next to a pair of New Balance 1100 in size 14 4E). If you need orthotics and a wide shoe to accommodate them (plus a sturdy/thicker sole), the 574 Classics might not suffice I am sorry to say. Pros: - good looking shoe Cons: - they run on the small side for length - they are narrower in 4E - more like 2E - while they seem to be sturdy enough, you can tell this is the same shoe design from the 80's - E.g. the tread isn't using newer materials that more modern shoes feature. This isn't necessarily a bad thing I should add, but thought I'd mention. (if you need a thicker sole or more cushioning, these might not work - they have average cushioning)

Agree with other review. I used to know exactly my size but something changed and now they feel narrower.

I bought these for my 10 yo son after being a firm Vans guy I didn't think he's wear these. He loves them for school and running in the play ground. Great arch support and a thinker shoe for fall in NJ.

Easy shoe to wear for a causal day.

I read some reviews saying that they run quite small. I was worried selecting the same size I am in Vans, but when I received them they fit perfectly. Normally I love wearing skate shoes or converse, but these are ten times more comfortable and don’t make me feel like I’m wearing old man shoes! 10/10!
