This is a great boot. I normally wear 11.5 to 12 in an oxford or derby, but for some reasons most boots fit me as an 11, including many brands like Frye, Mezlan, Magnanni, etc. This AE boot was no different -- fit as an 11. I got 11 and 10.5 and returned the 10.5. This boot in the pure black color is not very attractive in my opinion -- it all just blends together and you can't see the brogue and perfing. So I got in the tan color in the 11 which is very nice. Too bad AE discontinued the black with pinking -- that was a very nice combo. Not sure why this boot isn't more popular. very comfortable to wear.

awesome boot!!! doesn't get enough attention. fits and looks like an oxford wingtip that just has more height on the ankle. attractive leather variation and color. clear lug sole is nice for winter. buy this boot!

This is a great boot that has not received enough attention. Most dress boots with lug soles are too big in the foot area and look something like a gorilla wearing astronaut boots. This boot is built from the bottom up like a real oxford wingtip with a higher ankle. It results in the boot fitting more like a shoe and having a slimmer shoe-like profile. With the clear lug sole, it also keeps it looking dressy even though it can be used for rain or snow, although I wouldn't walk in 8 inches of sludge or anything in this book b/c the upper is not waterproof. The tan boot I received had a lot of texture and color to it and I like it--ideally it could be a bit darker but I'm happy with it. I did try a 10.5 in the same boot where the color was a little too light for my tastes, but the 11 had more color and texture.

Boots were comfortable right out of the box. The natural leather color is very nice. I wear a 9 in most shoes, so I ordered an 8. The 8 was too large. Had to exchange for a 7.5. The 7.5D fits perfectly. I would suggest ordering these boots 1 to 1.5 sizes down from your usual (i.e. inexpensive) footwear.

I love Allen Edmonds, but these were a huge disappointment. It's not that they aren't a very stylish and comfortable boot made from great materials, but the quality control is horrible. Unfortunately I didn't notice until after I wore them but the counter and back stay are off center by almost 1/2 inch. Paying as much as I did for a second rate boot is very disappointing, but I'm stuck with them now. Be very, very careful inspecting the construction if you purchase these, and you'll probably want to go down 1/2 to 1 full size from your Brannock size. I went from 9.5 to 8.5 and the fit is perfect.
