I really love the style of the Presidio II, it looks better (IMO) than the Presidio in terms of style, it's less nerdy looking. However there are fit differences between the two styles. I will start by saying that I have a low instep and maybe a bit of a skinny heel, but a medium width foot. Both the Presidio and Presidio II feel good on my feet, though I think the Presidio has a slight edge over the Presidio II which I will explain. As you will notice in the photos, the tongue of the Presidio is longer than the tongue on the PII and therefore pushes my foot back into the heel of the shoe making it a better "feel". If you look at the side view of the PII my heel is loose from the back of the shoe due to the shorter tongue. While the footbed inserts are exactly the same, I think the Presidio has a wider shoe in terms of the leather surrounding the shoe which is probably a better fit for folks with high insteps, though it also fits me just fine. I have a much snugger heel in the Presidio due to the full length tongue. The other very irritating thing about the PII are the shoelaces, they are thinner, and extremely long (I have to double knot) and they have an elastic feel to them as you pull them tight to tie the shoe making them even longer! Not sure why they didn't put the nice thick laces of the Presidio in this style? The laces need to be replaced. I'm not sure which one I am going to keep? Go for style or comfort with a shoe that doesn't slide in the heel?

I have been buying Keen shoes for years. However, their shoes have changed so much - and not for the better - that I cannot find a Keen shoe that fits anymore. The Presidio II - after finding the Presidio totally unsatisfactory after buying that style many times over the years and having it fit perfectly but no longer: the right shoe fit fine; the left heel was so wide that my foot almost came out of the shoe entirely. Keen is no longer making the quality footwear that it used to make. I couldn't be more disappointed.

The toe box is much more narrow than the 3 pairs of these I already have. I am sad that keen seems to have changed the shoe just enough to make them unsuitable for my wide toes. They seem to be still made well though.

My first pair of Presidios. I always wear a wide when available. So, after reading the reviews that the more recent versions of this shoe were less wide, I ordered the shoe with trepidation. But i need a good shoe with a stiffer sole for my aging feet and arthritic big toe. Initially, the shoe was snug as compared to my Keen Kaci and Targhee Vent. Also a narrower toe box. I switched the lacing to the “parallel” or “straight-bar” method. (3rd photo)This helped take pressure off the forefoot. I then wore them in the house on carpet on and off for a couple days. Gradually the leather began to stretch. They now feel just fine and very supportive for my wide feet. If you have wide feet try another lacing method (google shoelace methods) and give it a few days. It might help. If not, just return. My primary negative comment is the stock shoelaces are ridiculously long and just make the shoe look sloppy imo. I first ordered the Paloma Birch (tan laces). Came with 49.5” laces which is suitable for shoes with 6-7 eyelets. The Tungsten color came with 45” laces. The Presidio only has 5 eyelets. My Brooks running shoes with 7 eyelets has a 45” lace and it’s just right. The video doesn’t show the shoe with the laces hanging out. It’s a simple fix. I ordered new shorter laces.

I have worn Keen shoes for years. In fact I have the first pair I ever had and regrettably it now leaks. So I tried what I thought was an almost identical style in the Presidio. What a shock! and disappointment! Keen has gone completely off the rails with this one. Uncomfortable overall. Throat too high on ankle. Width too narrow from description. And on and on ...

The toe box is more narrow that most Keen shoes I own. Which put some stress in my foot. Additionally the shoe laces provided are so long they need to be doubled tied or you will have a tripping hazard.

I wear a pair of Presidios pretty much every day, so I was thrilled to see this shoe offered, which I felt would work in warmer weather for a good walking shoe. I am disappointed that the shoe seems longer than my Presidio, and does not flex the way I think it should. The problem with not flexing properly, is that short socks slip down on my heel. I tried this shoe with two styles of short socks, and had the same experience. The socks do not slip down when I wear them with other shoes. It seems to me that the shoe stays a bit too stiff, and that causes the socks to slip. At any rate, I have to return this. I do like the shoe in general. It appears well made and I like its style for a walker. Can't help remarking on the extra long shoelaces though. What's up with that?

I’ve been wearing Keens for years, always 8 1/2 medium. These were so tight they seemed to be at least a half size smaller. I even checked to make sure they sent me the right size. Very odd and disappointing. Maybe that’s why they were on sale.

About 8 yrs ago, I purchased two pairs of Keen presidio shoes for work. I stand for 10 hrs per shift, so the shoes have taken a lot of abuse and still offer great support and have worn well. These presidio II shoes, feel exactly the same when trying them on. The laces are longer (as others have noted) and get in the way slightly. Besides that they are very similar to the first presidio. I like the Dark Earth color option; it’s a rich, chocolate brown—a good neutral. All Keens have that slightly goofy look but the comfort is worth it!

This is my first Zappos review but I wanted to comment on this shoe. Many are saying that it feels narrower in width then previous Keene shoes which at first I found true. But what I have learned about Keene shoes (and I have a few of them) is that you have to really work the leather. Call me crazy but when I first put them on, I couldn't even get them on. That's how narrow they were and I have wide feet. I had to pull the tongue out, flex the leather at the sides ( back and forth) and then leave it stretched open like that. I tried them on the next morning and walked around the house with them on. Then the next day, I wore them out and they fit like a glove. They contoured to my feet like the other Keene shoes that I previously bought. Very comfortable. Because of my wide feet, I also order a size up. I"m an 8.5 with a wide width. I ordered these shoes in a 9 for extra comfort and room.

Comfortable, practical, attractive, versatile. Quality product. I have wide feet high arches, bunyons and spend a lot of time barefoot. These shoes work for my feet.

I ordered these shoes 1/2 size larger than I normally wear and they are an excellent fit. I have found this size adjustment to be the case with Keene. I find them very comfortable and have great arch support -- which I find difficult to find. I would find this (excellent arch support) useful for a "search" choice. I have bought two pairs. Great for walking.

Keen's just aren't made the way they used to be with consistent sizing (one up from other brands), wide toe box and great arch support. This Presidio II has a good arch support. But is narrow and shallow at the widest part- ball of my foot! Based on the how the style is constructed - it can't be stretched. I'm so sad but they are being returned.

Love these shoes, I have always had such good luck with Keen shoes. They really help me with my back and hip issues. I can't say enough good things about these shoes. I am on my feet a lot and they are just the best.

The Keen Presidio II have become my favorite everyday shoes. These have great arch support for me and are the most comfortable shoes I have. I like Keen because most styles have a wider toe box, but I notice that some styles now seem to be losing that feature. I ordered the Presidio II in my normal size of 9.5 and in a size 10. The 9.5 was definitely too small and the 10 seemed a little on the small side, too, so then I ordered a size 10.5. I had a difficult time deciding between the 10 and the 10.5 and eventually kept the 10 because the fit of the heel was a little loose on the 10.5. I've worn them for several days now and am glad I kept the 10. I would suggest ordering 1/2 size larger. I chose the Turbulence/Wrought Iron color. This is a very dark gray, but to me it has a hint of Loden green. I tried to see if they made this style for men since I think my husband would love them, too, but it appears that it is only a women's style.

After maybe a decade, I needed to replace my old Presidios, which were blue and grey. The current color profiles are not quite the same, but finally I broke down and settled on a brownish pair. Glad to report they are super cute. Plus it's like a dream running around in these. They are bouncey and supportive. I can wear them with or without socks, though I do try to wear at least no-show socks. The only issue is minor, which is that they are a little shallow round the ankle. Not a big deal, but something to note if that would be bothersome for you.

I have an old pair of Keens that are very similar to these. I was hoping to replace them with another pair that are equally as comfortable, and these fit the bill. They were comfortable right out of the box and even softer and more comfortable after a few wearings. They are just what I expected from Keen. I highly recommend.

I love Keens. I have a pair of hiking shoes that I have hiked 200+ miles wearing.. I wanted a pair of shoes for work that were suitable for wearing in winter making home visits (warm, waterproof, stylish). These Keens did the trick. They are great for walking my dog too. Keens are kind of clunky and goofy looking, but that's what I like about them. Kind of funky.

I returned these shoes because the toe box was not like some of the other Keens that I have purchased in the past. I loved the look and quality and they were comfortable.

I love my new shoes! The color (winetasting/peppercorn) is beautiful and muted just enough so as to not distract from whatever else I'm wearing. I need a little more arch support, and these shoes accommodate my orthotics perfectly. The lacing provides a snug fit and no slippage. After only two days of wearing these shoes, I ordered a 2nd pair in a different color. I highly recommend these shoes.

You know when you put on a pair of shoes that are just right, and your body suddenly relaxes in places you didn’t realize were tense? That’s these shoes. They are the ultimate in comfort and support. Now, because they’re leather when you initially start walking longer distances in them you might notice some weirdness in the shape until they break in, but they actually adjusted much quicker than a lot of leather shoes I’ve worn, so give them a week and you’ll be fine. Seriously, these shoes are the best.

I have a pair of P IIs in Black that I have worn all over London & up to Scotland. They replaced my Toyahs (??). When the brown Toyahs gave out, I decided I better get a pair of Presidio IIs to replace them before Keen replaces them! I don’t mind the long, stretchy laces. I always double-tie, so it isn’t a big deal. Most comfortable shoes as far as I’m concerned. I have some arthritis in my toes, but these shoes have plenty of space in the toebox.
