They are great, and comfortable in the Rieker way, and an interesting color with a hint of metallic. That I love. This morning I actually thought, I'll order a second pair! But tonight as I took them off I remembered, oh yeah, they turn my feet black. At first I thought it was a first-wear thing, when my socks turned black, but after several wears, the insole (perhaps soaked in dye?!) still turns my foot black right through stockings or socks. The insole is removable and I may try to replace it with another but... who wants discolored feet?! I apologize for the gruesome photo but it shows what I mean... this is my 4th or 5th time wearing them all day, and I was wearing (pale, not colored) tights (I thought that would help prevent the color bleed).

Love these shoes! Black was not available so I got the mineral. It’s more of a silvery color but very nice. I put them on early this afternoon and have worn since. Zipper is so easy for taking on and off. I normally wear a 71/2 wide. Size 39 is perfect.

I have purchased five pair R1402 in the past ten years. My new pair (black) replaces my first pair, thoroughly worn out! Shoe is in tact but edging around the ankle wears down. I totally wore out my first brown pair and the brown pair I wear not is getting thin soled, but I cannot part with them. My burgandy pair is my dress up pair. No wear and still get compliments every time I wear them! They are more difficult to find now so latch on when you see them. Luv Luv Luv my Remontes!

Fit was fine in my usual Rieker/Remonte size. I adore this brand but just not this shoe. Firstly, having the "easy on/easy off" zipper on the outside of the shoe is not as convenient as you'd think. If there is any hesitation in the zipper, it is difficult to use. The style would work better if the zipper were on the inside of the foot, rather than the outside. Secondly, it needs to be a higher "cuff" in today's fashion. It felt like I was wearing a sneaker or 10 years ago, albeit a great color and lovely texture. It needn't be a "high-top", but it would be more stylish if it at least covered the ankle. I hesitated a long time before returning as there was nothing "wrong", just wasn't in love with it as I hoped I would be.

This shoe was comfortable at the start. I do prefer the side zipper for easy on/off and the laces are always tied just right. The only color available was the Fumo/Mineral which happens to go with just about color I'm wearing. I usually wear an 8 or 8.5. I ordered a size 40 and a 39. The 39 fit perfectly. I have a medium width foot (which fits well in this shoe), but this shoe makes my feet look slender. I use Birkenstock orthotics and fortunately these Riekers have a removable insole. Otherwise, this shoe provides little arch support. A real plus is the bottom of the shoe. It has great tread for walking in slippery conditions. I'd buy this shoe again.

Love these! NO break in at all . Love at first stride. ?Just customized them with shoestring adjustment, then it’s like a slip on using zippers which work with NO hesitation. I have to use an orthotic (orthoheel brand which is like Vionic) and that was a snap to replace the stock shoe liner. While I buy shoes first & foremost on comfort and orthotic ability, the icing on the cake is that these are very attractive shoes!

These shoes are awesome. A tennis shoe feel w/ fun euro styling. They are light weight, very well made (of course Reikers) & sturdy without being bulky. You can dress these up or down with jeans and will be perfect for work or play. I went from 37 to 38 to allow room for socks if wanted. I have wide feet and it’s difficult to find fun, functional, flattering shoes! As always - thanks Zappos for the stellar customer service!!

The shoes are very comfortable. I like being able to adjust the fit with the laces and then use the zipper for easy on and off. The style is great for casual wear. Some reviewers have complained that the dye rubbed off, but I have not had a problem with this.

Great style and also comfortable. I've had 8 foot surgeries, so I need comfort. That's exactly what I got. Love Zappos, got these shoes with in 24 hours

I really love these shoes! I have a pair of Rieker high tops that I purchased while living in Germany that I absolutely love. I was a little nervous that since they were Remonte (I guess a brand owned by Rieker) that they wouldn't fit the same, but they do. I have wide feet and European brands tend to run wide, so these fit perfect even thought they're a M width. The color is nice, black with a little bit of a shimmer, not too flashy. I wish they had these in high tops. They're comfy, but not recommended if you plan on being on your feet the entire day.

The fit was great! I wear a 7 and got the size 38 perfect fit. Beautiful shoe! The shoe was a little stiff, the sole was hard, hurt my feet after an hour even with memory foam inserts and no air circulation at all. My feet would sweat. :( otherwise a Beautiful shoe, you will need an insert for extra padding.

very comfortable and fit perfectly - usually take a size 10US but in European sizing I usually take a 41 or 42. The 42 in this shoe fit perfectly.

I have three pair of these shoes, in different colors. Because I have toe issues on my right foot, I've had to spread the previous two pair in the right shoe. This time, they're already wide enough so they're perfect. The shoes have a wide toe box, with the lovely zipper detail that allows you to set your laces and then not have to tie/untie them again. The colors are wonderful and the footbed is the high quality you'd expect. This silvery color is a wonderful neutral that goes with everything.

The most comfortable shoes I own. I have problems with shoes irritating the back of my ankles and these are perfect!

They’re really light and comfortable. I’ve been enjoying them daily. Love that i can use the zipper or the laces, which means if I’ve got the laces just the way I want them, the zipper is fantastic. Great shape for my foot, and just what I was looking for. Very versatile too! After wearing them several times fur several hours per day, I did notice a bit of black on my lighter socks, but not excessive... doesn’t change how I feel about them!

I totally love the style on these sneaks... a little rock n' roll with the zipper and just a little sparkle. They're really comfortable and they don't turn my feet black. I usually wear a 7.5 but I needed the size 39.

I love the style and the color is great to mix with blues browns and black... which is great for travel. I felt the size was a bit larger but I wouldn't say a size bigger. I have to size up in many shoes because my foot is long and narrow so they felt a bit sloppy out of the box. I had planed on a custom insert for superior arch support regardless—so they ended up being perfect. It could be because of my third party insert, but I have noticed that my feet are a bit warm in them by the end of the day. In cooler weather I find that comforting.

Point off for color. Wonderful fit. Really comfortable. Would definitely have been my GO-TO shoe for casual wear. The cut of the shoe is fabulous. The zipper and texture changes are great. But they’re really sparkly. GLITTERY. I even went back and looked at the video and photos and I don’t see it like it is in person. I thought about keeping them, assuming it would dull with time, but my son came in and told me they look like disco bowling shoes and I should move into a senior living home since clearly I’d lost my mind when I put them on. Nobody ever said he wasn’t decisive. Back they go. Any color without glitter and I’d be set. None available that I see. Sad.

Great looking and fitting shoes. Just not the arch support needed for serious walking.

I really liked the look, fit and feel of these shoes...however...they had a very strong smell. In a closed car I just could not do it so I had to just donate them. Hopefully someone that is out of doors a lot can use them.
