Review for Zappos VIP Points(What's this?)
After a year of searching, I finally have found my CrossFit shoe. I have been running for many years longer than I have been doing CrossFit, and having sustained painful foot injuries (neuromas) from running in the "wrong" shoe, I'm really cautious about the fit and feel of any shoe I wear now. The problem I typically run into is the toe box- I don't technically have wide feet, so wide-toed shoes don't fit, but often the toe box in regular-width shoes is too narrow. This is an easy problem to solve with the hundreds of running shoes out there; not so much for CrossFit. For CrossFit, I tried the standard go-to shoe that everyone else at the box swears by- the Reebok Nanos. After trying multiple sizes, I eventually gave up on those because I found them to be too wide in the toe, causing my foot to slip around and reducing the responsiveness of the shoe (I was constantly tripping and found myself clenching my toes to try to get traction). Then I tried the Reebok Speed, having read that they fit more like a running shoe. These were too narrow in the toe box and over the top of the shoe, making my feet go numb. I also found that the Speed had really poor ankle support, causing the shoe to almost roll off my foot during rope climbs and giving me an awkward stride during sprints. Then I tried the Nike Reppers, again because I had read that they fit more like a running shoe. They felt great in the toe box, over the arch, and provided good ankle support, but the cut of the shoe was so high that it rubbed painful blisters over my ankle bones. I almost threw in the towel, but found the Metcons. I did a hero WOD with these right out of the box, with a 1.5 mile run, squats, and cleans. These felt GREAT! Excellent ankle support, spacious but responsive toe box, sturdy sole support for lifts, and not a single foot cramp or trip during movements. After a lot (and expensive) trial and error, I found the right shoes. These are worth the price, since they performed so well!

If you are unsure of what shoe to get for Crossfit or similar exercise, these are a good option (of course you probably already knew that). Why I bought these shoes: I am relatively new to Crossfit (less than 6 months) but I was getting really bad toe cramps while lifting & realized I was having to work extra hard to ground my heels in my cushy NB running shoes (great for running, bad for lifting). After a few WODs in my socks to avoid toe cramps, I decided to give in and get a specialty shoe. The Metcon 3: The first time I wore my new Metcon 3s, I beat my deadlift PR by 30 lbs. To say I noticed a difference would be an understatement. I feel much more grounded during barbell exercise, and not a single toe cramp yet. I like how solid the upper is-I do not slide around or over the sole. The feeling, structure, and weight of the Metcon 3s takes some getting used to, especially if you are used to a cushy running shoe, but these sturdy shoes are holding up so much better. The other reviews are correct that these are not meant for running. I did a quick 400m warm up jog & felt like i had bricks on my feet-definitely wouldn't run more than 600-800m in these. I can't compare these to other Crossfit/Metcon specific options, but there is a huge improvement over regular running shoes. A good show for this newbie! I will update this review after more wear to see how these hold up to 4-6 beatings a week. Fits true to size (7.5 here, wide foot at toes), heel is nicely cushioned. Would recommend, would buy again.

Excellent for CrossFit, lifting and plyometrics. Very thoughtfully designed shoes. Felt amazing the moment I put them on.

Wore them for the first time yesterday and could really see an improvement to my balance, especially for leg workouts. Pretty comfortable for the first use.

I usually order 1/2 to whole size larger with sneakers but I had to send this shoe back because 1/2 size up was still too big. Very comfortable though.

While these shoes serve a very specific purpose (gym / cross fit / lifting shoes), I don't recommend them for a few reasons: 1) the end of the shoe on the front gets very dirty since there is no rubber toe to protect it, 2) they have started to squeak after only a couple weeks of wearing them, 3) the shoe laces do not stay tied. Hopefully the Metcon 4s are better.

Perfect for metcons and weightlifting. The switch from regular trainers to these shoes is like night and day! I am a size 10 wider foot and ordered a 10 and that was perfect which is unusual for Nike (at least my experiences). I have to double knot when I tie them but that’s probably just because I am moving around a lot! But if you’re trying to get an overall good CrossFit shoe this is definitely worth a try! I love them!

Great shoes for gym! I’ve been on the search for a pair of shoes with enough arch support for my high arches but minimal enough soles to wear for various cross and circuit training days at the gym. My trainer recommended these and I love them! They’re wide enough in the toe box that my toes don’t cramp up or jam against the sides, but the heel is nice and narrow to keep my foot in place. I’m a true size 7, and ordered both the 7 and 7.5, and true to Nike’s, I needed the extra length of the 7.5. Wish they were a bit more stylish (look a bit wide and flat like duck feet) but for the comfort I will definitely be buying them again!

Loved the colors... so fun. The vamp is pretty high for me.. as I have a high instep. Wish I could have loosened the laces...but no! Cute shoe.

I love Nike Metcon for crossfit WOD's. These hold up well for rope climbs and basic oly movements during a WOD. I recently wore them for Murph and no issues on a longer run. I do switch into lifters for heavy snatching and cleans. A little pricey but a shoe I wear 5-6 days a week for 6-12 months its a good investment.

LOVE these for weightlifting. The flat bottom makes for a very sturdy stance while squatting or deadlifting.

This shoe is perfect for what it's intended use is for. Lifting and HIIT. it's very grippy and the soles are stiff for support. They're very comfy right out of the box and look amazing. Don't expect to walk 5 miles on a treadmill in these because they're not meant for that but these are amazing shoes.

I've been looking for a shoe for HIIT & gym workouts for a long time, and this one fits the bill, finally! The only caution is that it's quite wide in the forefoot, but at least it's narrow through the heel. I have an average width foot so a narrow footed individual may not get the lateral support needed because their forefoot may move around. I sized down a half size due to the width. These are lightweight, stable, and supportive through the arch. They seem like they're well made and will be durable, but time will tell--and they should be, at their hefty price! All in all, I'm pretty happy with them!

I love the look of this shoe and bought them because I saw a few other women in Crossfit wearing them. I am a Personal Trainer and also workout 6 days a week doing Crossfit and HIIT workouts. These shoes are a bit disappointing. I wanted to love them but they are SO stiff on the bottom. Fine if you are JUST lifting, but for metabolic conditioning or any sort of HIIT exercises with tabata and sprinting drills these are NOT the shoes for you.

Expensive shoe, not really comfortable for the price u pay. Hard soles which don't feel great when u wear it. Must return. Not worth the money.
