I wear sketchers to walk to work and back every day, usually in excess of 25k steps a day and I can never find pair where the soles don't start to wear out after a few months.

I bought the wide fit for extra toe room but on receipt felt the heel was also wide, which made it too loose and slipping. Think I might try a stretch fit and see if that is more suitable?

I have Plantar Fasciitis so have to wear orthotics and because this shoe is soft it allows my feet to slip outwards. If this shoe was more sturdy it would be ideal as the soles and insoles are very soft so help with painful feet.

I need a Wide Trail shoe-this is not gonna work. Bought the Escape in 13 Wide but right out of the box you can see the toebox is pointy rather than round. What a shame-I will have to return them.

I purchased 2 pairs in different colors as I liked the grip of the soul and the cushioning. My one big con is the area of the shoe where your pinky toe sits seems to be at too much of an angle and Is causing pain and a callus to form on the side of my toe. Never had this issue with any other shoe from skechers. Such a shame because I really want to love this shoe and it stays tied very well.

I purchased a similar shoe 2 years ago, wide fit that was extremely comfortable. This shoe was a wide fit, however it was narrow width and uncomfortable.

Bought these as a replacement for a pair of CrossBar that I had purchased (see alternative review) and have walked to destruction. Reasons for these were that they came in a wide fitting to allow for toe width, one downside I felt with the crossbar.
Whilst they are (as always with skechers) comfy from day one, these trainers do not feel as sturdy as others. I have already noticed that after 50 miles walking the heel is starting to lean in. This may be due to my walking style, or that the sole width is noticeably smaller then other styles. My crossbar trainers have noticeably less lean in the heal after nearly 400 miles of walking.
Will still be using these for everyday use, however for longer walks will be longer for an alternative that provides more heel support and a sturdier heel placement. Supposes this is the gamble in purchasing online.

I bought these to take on holiday to Madeira where I would be hiking on trails, that was in March, we are now in August and the trainer is completely ruined. So in five months the sole has worn down so I'm now walking on the outside of my feet, the role on these are terrible. Stitching has started to come apart on the upper and the memory foam inner sole is as flat as a pancake making them extremely uncomfortable. Initially I was impressed with the trainer, being lightweight and comfortable but this soon declined to the point that I'm throwing them away. This is my first pair of Skechers and my last. I believe they've sacrificed quality by using cheap materials for mass production and outsourcing to cheap Labour for manufacture.

The durability is dreadful.
I've only been wearing these on and off for a month and a half and the memory foam sole has partially collapsed on the inside of my heel. The shoe no longer sits level and is nigh on unwearable.
Beyond the foam issues, the rubber treads have already worn down to nothing on both heels.
I'm roughly 250lbs. If you are of a similar weight I would suggest you look elsewhere.
Very disappointed but I learned an important lesson on the life expectancy of Sketchers.
I'd also recommend:
Dr. Martens, Scarpa, Novacas

Having recently purchased these trainers from I am extremely disappointed to find that they are NOT FIT FOR PURPOSE and do not reflect their intended purpose.
I do quite a lot of walking and was in need of a new pair of 'trainers' and as the description stated thought that they would be ideal for my needs. Tame the terrain in style and comfort.
Upon receipt of the trainers and trying them on indoors on carpet, they initially seemed a 'good fit' although feeling slightly large for a size 10. But until a proper 'road test' is carried out you can never find out the true feeling from any footwear. I have worn these on one occasion and therefore not for their intended purpose and was disappointed to find that there is a major lack of heel support to the trainer, which causes my ankle/foot, left in particular, to roll inwards. This I did not expect from a trainer described suitable as a Trail Sport shoe! Continual wearing of these trainers will lead to problems with ankles and feet due to the mentioned fact and therefore they are NOT FIT for their intended purpose.
This purchase was therefore a total waste of money and due to the fact that I have only worn them for a short period of time in a shop, and not out in the outdoors, I cannot return them to the retailer for a refund. I have also noted that I am NOT the only person to have experienced this very same problem, as evidenced in other reviews for this product.

Too bad there's no warranty! First pair I had was so great I bought a second pair, but the material completely blew out around the main lace hole when putting on yesterday. 2 months shy of a year old

I purchased the shoes and less than 24hrs later (before i even got to wear them) I had to try to return/exchange them due to a material/manufacturer defect.
Customer service was terrible, offering only store credit or exchange even though the return policy was clearly stated that a refund was also available. Manager of the store didn't care about published policy, "if you don't like what I'm offering you can take your shoes and leave and call customer service and try to get them to help you" refused to provide name or contact info to supervisor or office phone number. I ended up with an exchange but will never purchase another pair for myself or family.

After a week of trying this memory foam shoe, I had to rip it out and insert and Dr. Sholl insert due to having sure feet etc.
And im on the 3rd week and the bottom thread is seperating from the base of the shoe, Im trying to glue it and see if this helps.
I'am a life long Sketchers customer, I wear this brand of shoes for every occasion and was always happy with these products. So this is a big disappointment, this model type feels like it was made cheaply and was meant to fail and come apart soon after purchasing it.
Unfortunately I did buy more then one pair thinking this will last me a long time.
Good/plus comments would be is, it is a light shoe and it feels like it it does ventilate very well.
But thats about it.

These shoes are in no way suitable for their advertised purpose. They are not trail shoes. The soles are paper thin and will wear out after a few days use, in common with other Skechers soles. I should have known, because Skechers entire business strategy seems to be based around selling expensive, useless footwear to fashion victims in the certain knowledge that it will survive precisely three weeks on normal feet and about a week on the peds of a beer-swilling obese athlete sporting the latest Man Utd shirt on his daily trek to the daytime TV power switch. We know Skechers know this - why else would they include 'Poor Quality' and 'Wear Out Quickly' in the options boxes on this review? It's a shame really, since the uppers are quite good and the laces are excellent, though uppers and laces don't get a trekker to the end of the trail, and I'm betting my 90 quid won't be waiting for me in the post when I get back from my next trail-blazing amble to the the corner shop.
