Finally! After trying 3 other pairs of athletic shoes (thank you Zappos for making that easy to do!) I finally found a pair that has what I need. I wear a 9 1/2 and these were true to size. I under-pronate (supinate), have plantar fasciitis and need good arch support and heel cushioning, a narrow heel and wide toe spread. These cover all of those needs...excellent arch support, plenty of room in the toe box, and a good cushiony heel. Other bonuses: very lightweight and breathable. I will be using these primarily for walking on the treadmill at the gym and walking the dogs in the neighborhood on concrete sidewalks. I had never heard of this brand before but read literally hundreds of reviews on Zappos to find comments from people with feet similar to mine. Thank you Zappos for your always great service!

I under-pronate, and these shoes repeatedly showed up in articles as "highly recommended" for that problem, and the moment I put them on, I could see why. They were lightweight but sturdy - excellent quality. The big toe-bed felt slightly indented, which automatically caused my feet to pronate in, correcting the under-pronation and feeling fabulous! They were also very very pretty! They were however also too narrow. Even with the laces open their widest, the fabric was simply too tight to feel truly comfortable, and to allow for swelling/movement. If your feet are anything but "normal" width, I advise to steer clear of these, sadly. Otherwise, they felt worth the high price in every way; they felt like they would have provided a very enjoyable running experience.

Thank GOD for this shoe. I have been suffering from a nasty bout of sesamoiditis, plantar fasciitis, and achilles tendonitis and the Mizuno Wave Rider 21 (plus a good physical therapist and an orthopedist) has me walking again after a month and half of immobilization with crutches and a boot cast. The forefoot offers a lot of support and stability (necessary for a sesamoid injury) without the stiffness and forced supination of a motion control shoe. The footbed is also more generously padded than any of my Brooks running shoes, which helps ease my heel and ball of foot pain. The toe box is relatively deep and allows my toes to splay, though I do have a relatively narrow forefoot. I bought my original pair from Fleet Feet (I cannot emphasize enough how important it is to go get professionally measured and fitted, especially if you are suffering from an injury), but will be ordering additional pairs from Zappos to rotate through while I continue to heal. If you need stability in a neutral shoe (in general, orthotics should always be in a neutral rather than motion control shoe), the Mizuno Wave Rider 21 might be for you. And if you have sesamoiditis, good god, please try this shoe or a Hoka One One if you can tolerate the zero drop (Hoka was a no-go for me due to the Achilles and plantar fasciitis issue).

It is rare to find a narrow running shoe. This one really grips the foot and offers good suport.

These are the most comfortable shoes I've encountered in a long time. I have plantar fasciitis amount other foot issues and I am able to walk/run comfortably in these. Lately the Brooks and Saucony have not done it for me. The back does not slip and they are not too narrow - and my feet are on the wider side. These are a dream!

This shoe fit my hard-to-fit feet great! It has just the right amount of roominess in the toe box and supportive heel. I don’t have many miles on them yet but they are winners! Thx Zappos!

I love my new Mizuno shoes! They are very cushy and feel very supportive when I run. I have bad knees for years of volleyball and these seem to help. I am usually a 7.5, ordered the 8 and had to exchange for an 8.5, I have somewhat wide feet but got the normal width and they feel great :)

I read great reviews for Mizuno shoes for high arches, which I have as well as a longer 2nd toe. These are amazing looking shoes, have excellent arch support and heel cushioning (heel spurs would be happy). The cushioning is a dream and may be just the answer if you have heel spurs or plantar fasciitis. Unfortunately, they crowd my longer 2nd toe and and even with the laces opened as wide as possible, they are still tight. Order a half size up for sure and if your foot is wide consider ordering the wide width or full size up. I can wear these with thin socks for walking but not running.

Love these shows! I've been wearing Wave Riders for over 4 years now and swear by them! They're the only sneakers I'll buy. Very comfortable and need very little time to break in.

I struggle with plantar issues - this shoe is the best for it! I always pick up the previous model when they go in sale.

These were a very good running shoe for supination (my ankle rolls out when I run) and cushion. Very comfortable, durable running shoe. I was going to buy another pair, but the new version (22) of this shoe didn't seem to have very good reviews.

This is by far my favorite running shoe. Even on longer runs (15+ miles) I have been able to run comfortably without any issues with the performance of the shoe. I'm on my 3rd pair and will continue to invest in this shoe.

Have worn the Wave Rider for years. Tried a couple of other models, but keep coming back to this. Fits well, good support and lightweight. I hate heavy shoes that are not flexible. Feels like I'm wearing bricks on my feet.

My 2nd pair of wave rider 21 shoes! I had to size up 1 full size from my normal size in other brands. They took care of my hip pain and I have run in them with and without socks. Had my fastest run time in a wet, rainy triathlon in these shoes. Very comfortable. I replaced one of the pairs inserts with superfeet insoles for a bit more support. Added locklaces for fast transition.

These were a great buy. I have already noticed a difference in my running and the best part is they are so comformatvke that my feet don't hurt after a run. Definitely recommend these.

I love the fit and durability of Mizuno Wave Riders. They last me for about 6 months of on road running. I run 3-4 days a week, 3-5 miles a day. My only complaint is that I wish there were more color choices!! Keep making the Wave Rider!
