This shoe looks good, a nice neutral tan, but seems loose and stiff, without much cushion on the sole of the shoe. Also, it arrived, as a few have recently, in a plain brown box, saying that the original box was damaged on the way?

Nice shoe, but wide width on size 5.5 are rarely actually wide. Disappointed.

Bit of boxy in appearance than what is pictured. Back of the heel fit is not great as my heels keep raising. The heel raising seems to be an issue with Columbia shoes in general. As it happens with another pair which I purchased 5 years ago, which has been completely broken-in.

Uncomfortable, stiff. Hurt my feet just walking around the house for a few minutes.

Comfortable. Firm sole, but not too firm. Unfortunately the waterproofing failed after about one month.

I really wanted to like this shoe, but there wasn't enough cushion or arch support for me. They felt too stiff, if there was more cushion & arch support, I would have exchanged for a smaller size and break them in. I guess I'll stick with Keen for my waterproof shoes.

This was a good, sturdy shoe except it was a little tight at the neck of the shoe. Now that I look at all the photos of Columbia shoes they go up high where they tie, then dip way down, then go up high again at the achilles (heel). A little too much for my foot, at least at the ankle circumference. Hmmm. Have to really study these photos for fit. I have a pair of Columbia's from 12 years ago and they weren't as "pronounced" as this. Not "high top" looking but like a regular shoe. Will keep searching.

I was hoping for a shoe that felt more like a sneaker. These looked massive and felt clunky. The sole was higher than expected also. I wear a size 9. It was recommended that I get a size 9.5, but a 9 might have worked just as well. Sorry but I'll be returning.

I think the width was too much. The toe area bends into my toes. Hard to explain but I'm afraid after using it in the house that it will hurt during a hike.

As far as the reviews that say to go up a size, I disagree. I did that and they feel too large. Not as much support as I wanted for my high arches and very little cushion. They feel flimsy.

I ordered the wide and it was still too narrow. My heel slipped too. So i sent them back..too bad since i am trying to find a low waterproof hiker. Columbia wides are not wide enough, but then again other brands are like this too.

I liked the looks of these and their water resistant quality. However, even though I ordered a size up - my sneaker size rather than my street shoe size and they were still too short. I put them sole to sole against my Brooks sneakers and they were a good 3/4" shorter.

these shoes are sturdy and good looking, however I wear a 9.5 and I bought a 10.5, and they still felt incredibly tight. They are going back...i'm so disappointed. Considering trying to buy them in an even larger size.

Order up a size, I wear an 8 and a 9 seemed to fit. These are lighter than my other waterproof hiking shoes (Merrell) and have some great features however there's a weird thick piece of padding at my Achilles tendon which dug into both my feet so they have to go back unfortunately.

The upper heel surround was loose around ankle and slipped when walking

I normally wear a size 8 in athletic shoes and 7.5 in casual or dress shoes, but based on the reviews I ordered a 9. It was about a half size too big. Should have ordered an 8.5. These are sturdy shoes, thick and heavy soles, with moderate arch support. The tongue was too stiff and cut straight across rather indented in the middle so it dug into the top of my foot when I walked.

Sadly, I returned these. I had ordered a full size larger than I wear. They looked small right out of the box but they fit OKAY - but after walking in them on my treadmill, they felt very STIFF. I just didn't trust to keep them, try them on a hike, then be limping. Very nice LOOKING shoe. But just not right on MY feet. Think I'll stick with a good athletic shoe and scotchgard.
