I loved the original hide and seek socks but like other reviewers I’m disappointed in the new design. They are now cut lower on the side of your foot which is good for concealment. But that lower profile means they do not stay on your heel even with the grippers. I would trade more visibility for a secure fit. I am having to discreetly pull up the socks everywhere I go, and having to walk on bunched up socks when I can’t fix them privately. I’m returning the other 2 pairs.

I bought a three-pack of, what I thought, was the same Smartwool Hide and Seek (no-show) socks. Well, they are NOT the same. They changed the design and they are awful. The originals were SO great. They had a nice secure band all around which prevented the sock from slipping off. These new ones didn't stay up for even a minute. They are no better than the cheap no-shows you can buy at Target or DSW. Save your money. Hopefully, Smartwool will get SMART and change the design back.

The silicone gripper strip on the heel is worthless; the socks just don’t stay up. Beyond that fatal flaw, Smartwool comparison is shown in photo. “Secret Sleuth” (oatmeal) on the left foot. “Hide and Seek” (moonbeam) on right foot. Both socks are size M and my feet are size 9. “Secret Sleuth” worked with more of my loafers, sneakers and booties.

I love that Smartwool is carrying no-show socks, but the sizing of these socks is not great. I wear a 7.5 shoe and bought the medium sized sock per the size chart. Whenever I wear shoes with these socks, there is extra material that sticks out in the back. I find that I have to tuck this extra material back in the the back of my shoe. It's great that the backs of the socks where your heels are have a silicone strip to keep them from slipping...but the sizing I found to be too big. The merino wool material is amazing and keeps your feet dry all day...just wish I knew to buy these socks a size smaller. :-/

I'm a guy and have been wearing Sperry Top-Siders for many years without socks, as many do. In warm damp/wet environments, they can become a bit odiferous, and these Women's Secret Sleuth Socks (should be Unisex Secret Sleuth Socks), when changed regularly, can eliminate the problem while still allowing the casual look. I like the rubber strip on the heel that keeps it from slipping slipping down into the shoe.

I, like other viewers, loved the original Hide and Seek design. The design has changed including the dimensions and thickness of the silicone strip. They do not stay on the back of the foot and are very uncomfortable. I find myself either walking with the sock bunched up under my toes or having to stop and re-adjust the sock after walking an even short distance. The originals wore like iron, eliminated any odor, and stayed up on the back of the heel. I was so excited at the time when I found them because other no-show socks I had tried did not stay up. I am very disappointed - will be sending these back and will now have to try another brand. :(

These low profile socks are simply perfect for short booties and stylish sneakers.

I love my Sperry boat shoes and used to wear their no-show socks but they wore out in the heel and would slip down. This pair has been much more durable and I haven't had slippage problems with them. I highly recommend them. #SmartwoolLove

I bought one pair of moonbeam (the light cream) to wear with my slip on boat shoes. they show a bit but not much. they do not slide down either.

I first discovered Smartwool when a relative gave me a pair several years ago. Since then I wear Smartwool high socks in winter and sleuths in summer. My shoes keep clean inside and my feet stay so.cozy and odor free. Yea!!

I have many pairs of smartwool socks but this style does not stay on my feet. I wear them with my vans and these socks kept on slipping off into my shoe, very annoying. I have not had with issue with other styles of no show smartwool socks.

I don't know why Smartwool changed the design of this sock. The previous version was comfortable, stayed in place, and was very well made. This version slips immediately and is obviously very cheap. It's a shame when companies choose cost cutting over a quality product but keep the price the same.

I’m so bummed with the new version of the Hide and Seek. I’ve purchased these for the past 3 years and they are practically all I wear. I needed to order another pair and noticed this new version. I figured I would give them a try and ordered them in my normal size Large. I wore them the other day and they just slipped off my feet all day long! The old version never did! The only redeeming quality about these is the color Moonbeam is a really pretty heather grey with faint rainbow colors throughout.

I've worn Smartwool Hide and Seek, Secret Sleuth, and crew socks for years. They are expensive, but in the past have been worth every dime. The new style of Hide and Seeks DOES NOT stay on your foot. They bunch up and slip down even when trying to put on a shoe. If you manage to get the shoe on and still have the sock comfortably placed, after a few steps, it starts to slip. I also tried the cushioned version, and experienced the same problem. This is a heart-breaker, because I love wool socks, not only for winter, but year round with loafers, sneakers, and ballet flats. There is nothing better for keeping your feet cool and dry. Five-stars for the style of the sock and the fabric composition, zero stars for performance. It's essential that a no-show sock stay on your foot with no bunching. I will be scouring the internet to try and find the discontinued version so that I can stock up. Please Smartwool, if you happen to see this review, go back to your previous style. NOTE: I wear a 7.5 and ordered my usual Smartwool size Medium. I have read some of the most recent reviews that would apply to the new version of this sock. I am definitely in the minority of those displeased, and I noticed that some people suggested sizing down. If I can't find the old version, I may try sizing down to see if that helps. Maybe the new style is running larger than the previous one.

This is my second purchase from Smartwool. I should let you know that I have historically been an adamant non sock wearer. Socks tend to be very uncomfortable to me for reasons I won't bore you with. Suffice it to say, these are so comfortable! And they stay in place on your foot instead of sliding down into a ball in your shoe. I can wear them all day without the usual problems I have had with socks. I am sold on merino wool!

The color is close to my skin tone, so I even wear them with my rubber soled sandals, which my feet used to get sweaty in. No more sweaty feet thanks to these socks.

I wear these hide n seek no show with my summer casual and boat shoes. Memory foam insoles make my feet hot These socks provide a cooling buffer and don't show. It's a win win.

Love how dry they keep my toes with a barely there feeling.

These Hide and Seek No Show socks are comfortable, fit well, and stay on my feet. I bought one pair to try out and plan to get more.
