These are so much cuter in person! I think they look good in the pictures online, but I ordered the black leather and was hoping they wouldn't look weird (too shiny or fake looking), but they don't at all. The shoe has good arch support which I love. I wear Birkenstocks every single day, so I like that I have a cute, close-toed shoe that offers the same support. I am usually a 7 or 7.5 (depending on the brand), people recommended to go up 1/2 a size and I ordered the 7.5 and they fit perfectly. They are the same as the Taos Star so if you want to read more reviews on sizing/fit/other things, go to that one. The only difference is the Retro Star is a suede/leather upper and the Star is a canvas upper.

I liked the look of these shoes, but the sole was way too hard, and my feet need more cushioning than that. I WANTED to love them because I have other Taos shoes, but they just didn't feel comfortable on my feet.

This is my second pair of Taos Retro Star sneakers. I have the Kaki suede pair as well. I bought my first pair to wear to a trip in Europe where we would be doing a lot of walking! They felt great my entire trip and I put a lot of miles on them.

Very cute shoe! I've received several compliments on these. The insoles are very substantial and I don't necessarily need to use my orthotics in them. I am planning on ordering other styles from Taos!

I won't wear anything with a Dow Chemical product in it, sorry.

I just purchased a pair of black leather Taos Retro Star sneakers for an upcoming trip. I wanted to take as few pairs of shoes as possible. I will be bike riding, light hiking and walking around Paris, I think my Retro Stars will fit the bill for all activities. The fit was true to form even though it was said that they may run small. The style is perfect and the support is excellent, I won't be needing my orthodics.

I love the Star and Retro Star shoes, and have two pairs of each style. I am prone to plantar fasciiitis, so the arch support is the most important feature for me. It can serve as a replacement for my usual orthodics. I can walk in them for hours and they are lighter and more stylish than regular athletic shoes for travel. The only improvement I would make is to have a bit more cushioning in the bottom. I solve this by using a thin foam insole under the footbed.

I had to order a 1/2 size larger and they fit perfectly! They are comfortable and look great. I like the arch support as most of these shoes don’t have any. I would highly recommend.

So excited about these! I also ordered the Greats, which are more expensive but popular. These are far more comfortable, cuter, and cost significantly less.

Great arch support and super cute with great color options! I ordered these late in fall and am now back for my 3rd pair! The suede cleans up nicely with a suede brush.

This is my new favorite shoe and I have a lot of shoes. It’s perfect for skinny jeans but also looks great with boot cut. The shoes look they they have zero arch support when in fact the arch support is excellent. Great quality shoe for a fair price. I’m already trying to decide what color to order next. Zappos is the best with their great customer service and next day delivery.

Just found my new favorite shoe! These are trendy without being cutesy and higher end looking than chucks. The construction and stitching is perfect, the insoles are a dream. I bought the black leather, put them on and wore them all day in comfort, which is rare for me. I have bunions, so usually need a wider shoe, but these are the perfect width for me. The Star runs a little more narrow. I'll be back for more Retros!

I usually wear an 8 in shoes like this, but these run super small and I will be exchanging them for an 8.5 or 9.

Love these so comfortable

I have pretty wide feet and usually wear a size 9 M. These fit perfectly and look super stylish with jeans and dresses. I have flat feet, but the arch support feels adequate, even for long days walking in city on pavement. My main complaint is the sole is very thin and you can feel bumps on the ground through the shoes. However, the thing sole creates a streamlined and low-profile shoe which I appreciate, since my feet are large for my height (I'm 5' 3").

I wanted to order a pair of leather of lace-up shoes similar to Birkenstocks without spending $180. I ordered these on a whim and they are perfect! I typically wear a 39 in close-toed Birks and the 8M in Taos fit perfectly. I would size up if you plan to wear these with thicker socks though. Overall, these are a great alternative to Birks and they're just as stylish!

I LOVE these shoes. I have them in fabric also but the leather kicks it up a notch. Great for casual night on the town. I hope they continue to make this style.

These are actually some of the most comfortable shoes I’ve ever owned! I personally need arch support and these do it for me. And they’re super stylish; I love wearing them to work with a pair of khakis or slacks even!

Cute style, great arch support. Like that they’re leather, but wish they had more colors in leather. Very comfortable but I wish the soles were a little thicker. They’re pretty thin (e.g. feel rocks through them) and wear out after 1+ years. This is my second pair—great casual shoe you can walk in.

I love this shoe! I read the reviews and suggestions to order 1/2 size up. I ordered my usual size 8, and I’m glad I did. I tried on an 8-1/2 in the stores, and it was way too big. Great style, great quality. Thanks again.

Wow these are comfortable right out of the box. A great shoe for everyday and travel - love!!!!

Half of my shoes are 6.5 and the other half are 7, I got this in a 7 and it’s a perfect fit, I do have more of a narrow foot and I have plenty of toe room

I got these in the blue - goes great with darker blue jeans, but they are not so dark as to look black. I like the multiple shades of blue. Some customers have said these run small, however I found that if I removed the inner sole, the shoe fit true to size. I wear 8.5 and that is what I ordered. With the inner sole out, the shoes feel fine (with the inner sole in, my toes were squished and uncomfortable).

I have a pair of washed canvas Star sneakers and needed the half size up. Not so in the leather version! They were sized appropriately.

Very happy with this shoe! Just what I was looking for in a casual sneaker.
