Had to write a review about these. I'm a die hard Arcteryx fan. I read some mixed reviews on these so I waited 6 months to write a review. So far, I have never enjoyed a shoe so much. seriously I'm happy to slip them on everyday. Crazy durable, it's like a waiting sock for your foot with a hard core sole and incredibly comfortable ortholite insole. I am an electrician in Alaska so I go from job site to job site on ice through 2 feet of snow in through the woods. These keep my feet completely dry, warm and protected. Purchase without worrie.

I love these shoes once I figured out the correct sizing I normally wear a size 10 1/2 US but the toe box was tight. The size 11 fits perfectly. The shoes are very comfortable and will be perfect as an approach shoe for my upcoming trip to New Zealand the water proof feature will be perfect for the Spring weather conditions. The shoes are lightweight and very packable exactly the quality I expected from Arc'teryx! Thanks.

The grip on these is like no other shoe...wet rocks or stone you have purchase and stability. Feet remain dry and comfortable, warm and protected. Only used in inclement weather, so for warmer climes I imagine these can render your feet over-heated. For outdoors enthusiasts who require grip, comfort and dryness.

These shoes are sharp enough to wear to an architects office, yet warm and dry enough for the Minnesota winter. They are really well put together and have held up well.

When I wore the previous version (Acrux FL GTX), I was already impressed by what these shoes can handle. Either I hiked up rugged terrains, descended on slippery slopes, or treaded through streams, I know my shoes can tackle all the challenges. Instead of heavy boots, I now understand how a solid pair of approached shoes can perform better. Acrux SL GTX impresses me even more. Much lighter is one advantage. I also walk around in town without feeling the bulkiness. I often receive the compliment about its minimalist design. One last thing is their fit. I have read several reviews about how these shoes are designed for narrow, low-volume feet. I consider my feet wide, and I still find them comfortable to wear. I loosen up the laces at the beginning and the shoes hug around my feet well ever since. These shoes require no break-in period! One drawback is the temperature, but that's a common trade-off from Goretex waterproofness. I just wear thinner merino socks to compensate. I highly recommend ACRUX SL GTX.

I haven't bought a pair of waterproof tennis shoes before, so I haven't much to compare them to. As far as it goes, I think they're great and worked just how you'd want them to.... tennis shoes that keep ones feet dry.

Fantastic shoes. I love that I can remove liners. They dry more quickly this way. Love when I am camping that I can where liners inside tent. Fantastic design. Break in fast. Size seems true relative to other shoes I have owned.

I got this shoes a month ago. I usually wear 42-42,5 in normal sport shoes (i.e Nike runners) and I got the ACRUX SL GTX in 43. Fits very good. Very comfortable shoes if sized properly ...I was initially concerned because I got a pressure point when bending the foot while walking, straight above the big toes but after wearing them for a day at work and around town it was gone. Now they have molded to my feet and they are super comfortable even after long day hikes. I can see that the GTX can get a bit hot in warmer climates but I want the waterproofness. Rubber is super sticky and even climbed an easy 5a route in granite with them just to test them.Very lightweight as well to be carried on your harness. (just a note the sole pattern is not the one shown above, check ACRUX SL for the correct one) The only concern would be that laces come undone if tied normally but I always double tie walking shoe/boot laces so then it is not a problem.

I've had these for a year now and have used them climbing and mountain biking in Scotland, Argentina, Chile, USA and Canada. They will stick to any rock. They are a class shoe - one of the best I've ever had. It took a week to get used to them - my feet initially didn't enjoy just how stiff they were, but as they got used to them, they are fantastic. I only have a slight concern about the sole wearing out and having to replace them. Also, a quick question - Where can I get replacement laces? There is a tear on the top layer and they have become difficult to tie - only a matter of time before they wear through. Thanks

Bought this shoe to double as my daily in winter in Seattle and as a lightweight hiker in summer. I started using it actively in the spring, and found that it does just as well as wearing a boot in spring snow conditions. Traction on snow is astounding - as long as I don't sink I typically don't feel the need for microspikes. Sole is just flexible enough for agile placement (in comparison to FiveTen Guide Tennie which climbs well, but is terrible on the trail), and the traction is spot on even on wet rocks and roots. Plastic outer can take a beating from gear and rocks and still look great, which is a great plus because my wife's leather hiker is already starting to show wear after one season. This is my 3-season show in Cascades now, and I will keep on coming back for more once I wear out this pair.

Used extensively for work and play last summer in the Kootenays. Highly recommended for rocky, variable, wet/dry/ice/snow/rock and unstable terrain. While tight at first, the fit / comfort improved after a week of use when the (removable) bootie conformed to my foot shape. No issues now. I've not worn them with anything more than a loaded daypack, but they feel secure and sure, so presume that they'd function well for backpacking. Some might find them on the warm side for summer use. They transition well to city, not overly clunky when off the mountain trails. L I K E....

Currently using these in Mexico and the Belizean jungle these are already the best hiking shoes I've ever worn. Expensive yes, but the trade off is that they're tough as nails, need no break in time, are waterproof and feel very light on the feet. Even in 30 degree Mexican sun they're not even remotely hot. In torrential downpours I felt nothing. As my first piece of Arcteryx footwear I'm massively impressed, so far I'm ecstatic, absolutely no negatives whatsoever!

I have used these shoes for 8 months now. They truly are great bombproof shoes. They are very comfortable and light. The grip these shoes have are phenomenal. Even on the streets where you would usually slip on certain grates when wet you wont in these. My only worry is that my socks did get wet when i was walking in the rain and found that the inside of the show was wet where the vents are on the side of the shoes :(. Also, the laces are durable and the haven't frayed or anything. However, the material is super slippery and with the laces coming up to the top bridge of your foot it gets loose. The laces slip and become undone all the time. I have to tie my shoes twice to three times every day. If only the coated them in some sticky rubber like material i think they would stay tied longer.

These shoes are great for day hikes. I've been doing a bunch in the PNW and the conditions are usually pretty wet and the Gore-tex helps a lot. At the same time they are really light. The shoes seem to be well ventilated because my feet stay comfortable and dry. My one critique is I wish there was a tighter fitting heel or an extra eyelet like a running shoe. The fit goes from tight to loose from toe to heel. It's not by much, but it is noticeable.
