These boots are just as comfortable as the Birkenstock sandals and they look great with skinny jeans or dress pants. I love them!

Love at first sight. I was able to wear these shoes all day and my feet were still singing by the end of the day. Supportive, roomy, but not a sloppy fit. And looks good with black knit pants and a tunic top

I am so happy I got these boots!! With my plantar fasciitis I can wear Birkenstocks and a very minimal shoe by Merrel. I needed something for winter!!! This is it!!!!

These are WONDERFUL!!! Exactly what I was looking for. I disagree with the other commenter and feel that the laces are fine. These have a sturdy sole and the excellent Birkenstock footbed, so the thinner laces and thinner leather make them a bit more stylish than they otherwise would be. Very happy!

I am so happy with these boots! I was dealing with so much pain from plantar fasciitis and had tried many recommended shoes. These are it! No more pain at all. Even in one of the least painful shoes I have had, I could hardly wait to get home and take them off. I came home from walking on uneven terrain at the lake and realized after being home for over an hour I still had my boots on and wanted to leave them on! I'm going to order a second pair!

I did not buy my Gilford Highs at Zappos (though I normally buy everything here). I was shopping with my mom and tried some on at a local shop. The shoes I was wearing that day happened to have the Birko Sport arch supports in them, and if they hadn't, I would have ended up passing on these boots. The removable cork arch support in this boot was not up to par in my opinion, it did not offer the normal amount of comfort and support that a Birk should have. With the Birko Sport insoles, however, these boots feel awesome! The toe shape is perfect for my wide foot and they look pretty cute with my fall leggings! I normally wear a 39 in sandals and a 40 in closed-toe Birk shoes and these boots were a 40 and fit as expected. If you don't already have Birko Sport insoles, they are awesome and turn many pairs of shoes into comfy friends! But, they would add another $70 to the cost of these boots. Kind of high, for something that already should have been included but worth it to me to have these comfy and cute fall boots. The other reviewer mentioned the shoelaces. I thought I would hate them and was planning on replacing but after a couple of weeks they have softened up and are actually kind of nice.

I normally wear a 39 in Birkenstock sandals, but since these were boots, and my toes reach the end of the sandals, i went with a 40. They were too big. Other than that, they were okay, slightly clunky, but i know they would probably wear in nice like Birkenstocks usually do. I may try the 39 and re-evaluate. The leather wasn't quite as high quality as I expected for the price though. The gray felt on the sides was smart looking. The shoelaces were those thinner waxy kind and they were a little too short for the boots and easily come untied.
