I have several pairs of Birkenstock shoes and always wear a 41. These seemed extra roomy to me and I am glad they are. I can insert my professional orthotics over the footbed and wear a pair of lighter weight socks and the shoes are comfortable all day long. That’s why I Love Birkenstocks. The toebeds are roomy with no pressure points ever and when my feet swell after lots of walking there’s no pressure on the top of my foot ever. I also bought the Isley model too, and will give them a similar thumbs up. I have conditions like Morton’s neuroma, slight hammertoes, and bunions and don’t know I have them when I’m wearing Birkenstocks.

The insole is not like Birkenstocks normally are. Not much support at all. I would have kept these if they had some support even if they are homely looking.

I love these boots and own them in brown. I am a big fan of Birkenstocks and believe that they cured me of my horrible plantar fascitiis. I wear the sandals all summer and I wear these boots all winter. They have a sort of elvish look about them which I am totally down with and actually logged onto Zappos today to buy another pair in black. I wear a 40 in both the sandals and the boots. The boots are a little snug at first but the leather stretches after you wear them for a bit and they fit perfectly to your foot. I cannot say enough good things about these. LOVE.

Finally! A perfect pair of boots for play, for dress, even for chilly floors in the morning. Slip on easily. Zip up easily. And have that easy to wear Birkenstock feel. Hint. I wear a size 40 in Birks, but for the boots I ordered a size 41 and they fit perfect. It took me a while to figure out that with the closed toe styles (as opposed to the sandals, which is what I wear mostly), I had to go up a size. Love these boots! (P.S. they look great with black mesh tights!)

These boots are fabulous. I’m heavy and everything hurts my feet except birkenstocks!! These boots have a different footbed than the traditional one on most sandals and clogs. They’re very comfortable and supportive. They’re tight but give the four to five wears and you’ll love them!

I love Birkenstock everything and wear their sandals, shoes and now boots. I am a 37 in shoes and sandals, but have purchased now two pair of boots in 38. These boots are stylish and I can walk miles in them in the city in comfort.

Love this roomy boot! I needed a shoehorn to help me get it on the first time and then figured out how to wiggle my way in after that. I have scar tissue on one foot and the toe box is perfect--not too wide, but roomy enough for the scar I have. Love the insole--even though it's different from the one in the sandals--I always need good arch support and it's there in this boot--if slightly less aggressive than the Bostons which i wear in summer. I also love the medial arch support. I normally wear a size 40 but i ordered a 41 in these so i could wear winter socks in them and they are perfect.

I love these boots. They're really cute & I like the wide toe box and high quality. The footbed under the ball of the foot is very hard and thin. It's interesting that a tiny footbed comes attached to the zipper. Tiny as it is, it's more cushioned than the actual footbed in the boots. I had to put in different insoles for more cushioning under the ball of the foot.

Nice boots! Roomy toe box allows my toes room to wiggle. Very high quality smooth leather. The boot style is a little casual, but the shiny leather is sophisticated which gives an overall look that I like. The espresso color is a lovely deep brown red hue. I'm new to Birk footbeds, still getting used to the lateral arch bump, the little bump on the outside in front of the heel. It's not bothersome, just make take some getting used to. Rest of the footbed is good. There is not a raised toe bar bump on this footbed as there is on Birk sandals. Nice sticky rubber outsole. I like the look and the feel of the low heel. These are true-to-size or perhaps just a shred on the big side. I'm probably a 39 1/2, and the 39 fits great.

These boots are wonderful and very comfortable. I have very wide feet, so the fact that these boots run wide is perfect for me. I have a little trouble getting them on because of my high arch, but if I put my fingers in the side near the zipper, I can sort of push my foot in. Take note that the leather on these boots do stretch and soften very quickly. I purchased the brown color which is beautiful, but scuffs easily. I like them so much, I’m ordering the black pair now. I normally wear a size 38 in the Birkenstock sandals, and ordered a 39 in these boots. The fit is wide and loose, which is exactly what I like. I wear a pair of medium weight socks with them and find them to feel good on my feet all day.

My absolutely favorite boots-- although I did have the insoles personalized by my orthotics-maker, so they are even more molded to my feet. I wear a 37 in Arizonas and Bostons, but a 38 in these was perfect.

I bought these last year & wore them with skirts & pants. Very comfy especially for a boot.

I bought these in my usual size (39) in black leather. Depending on style, I wear 38 or 39 in Birks. My toes were a bit closer to the end than I would like, but it was not bothersome. The support was noticeably less than my Birk sandals, which was disappointing, but they were still comfortable enough that they beat out any other booties I had found. Living in Minnesota, I was pretty careful with these shoes, wearing them only inside to avoid ice melt chemicals and a lot of moisture. They held up fine to this gentle use until one day when I had a CPR training that involved kneeling on a carpeted floor. After less than an hour of that, the toes of these shoes were very badly scuffed, looking like I had worn them for many months, not a couple of weeks. Because of this scuffing, I returned these boots and will be looking for something else.

I have morton's neuromas, bunions, rheumatoid arthritis that flares in toes, etc. etc. and am recovering from a broken 5th metatarsal...as my mother would say "Other than THAT, how did you enjoy the play, Mrs. Lincoln?" I find extreme comfort wearing my birk sandals and thought these would be a good solution to closed toe winter shoes (goodbye cute booties!). 40-50 minutes after wearing them - bottom of foot was burning and they felt confining. My CUTE shoes do that, I'll put them back on and sending these back. If Birkenstock ever makes a closed shoe cute enough to wear and as comfortable as sandals, I'd pay three times this price. Alas, I don't think they will.

I have a wide forefoot and high arch. These shoes felt narrow and were very difficult to get on. The leather is stiff and overall uncomfortable. I am disappointed because I love the style.

These boots kind of remind me of a hippie hobbit shoe, but that doesn’t bother me one bit! ? they are more attractive when I wear pants that cover the ankle, but it’s a very small price to pay for an overall basic but well made attractive shoe. I’ve worn birks for 25+ years, but never in a full shoe like these and I really love the comfort.

I have the tall version of these boots. I must be between sizes as the loose fit in the tall boots doesn't bother me. These are great everyday boots and that is just what I am going to do with them.

I love everything about these boots!! Nice wide ankle makes them so comfortable. I love the classic Birkenstock footbed but there is no toe bar (which is a home run for me!) I even got a color I wasn’t sure about (Truffle) and it’s such an odd brownish greenish color with the black sole. It makes me love them even more!!!

Theses boots are extraordinary. There are so comfortable, they are more comfortable than bare foot! It seems they are built the same way as the sandals, holding feet on both front and back of the arch, thus leaving toes free from rubbing, or even touching anything. The inside is very soft, they can be worn barefoot if for the lack of warmth in winter. The classic Birkenstock sole should isolate well from cold from beneath, enough to be worn barefoot in spring or fall though. They look great too, beautiful leather, great craftsmanship, edgy and bold style. I ordered them in brown which is rich and deep, gorgeous. They definitely have a strong personality, which if it doesn’t match yours may be a bit overwhelming. I can’t recommend them highly enough!

I love these. I wear them with jeans and with dress pants for work. I have bunions and needed to switch all my shoes. They are my second pair of Birkenstocks. My first were suede Bostons in a 39-purchased elsewhere. It took me awhile to get used to the Bostons but once I did, I knew I'd buy more Birkenstocks. I have since purchased Ions in 39 and returned them as they were too small. I then purchased Londons in 39 and returned them as well as they were too small. I decided to give these a try and ordered them in 40. I don't know if my Bostons are mis-marked and are really 40s or if it there is the difference between the soft suede and the harder leather, but these are perfect. So much toe room I can wear my toe spreaders. I didn't have any break in period. Very pleased with both this purchase and Zappos customer service. Even more pleased that by changing my shoes and adding toe spreaders I am able to avoid surgery. :)

Love the boots! Am keeping them! A little difficult to get on but am hoping the leather will stretch and loosen up a little. Using a shoe horn helps! Super comfortable for everyday wear! Don't make my feet look like duck feet!

I have always worn a 39 in Birkenstock’s and ordered same size and it fits perfectly. Comfortable and I think I will wear these often.

I was having problems with plantar fascia and pain and decided to commit to wearing only Birkenstocks. Within a month or so of wearing a night splint cast and wearing only the Burk’s, the pain went away. I started with sandals and as the colder weather arrived, I added the Isley and these pair of boots to my collection. Love the Birkenstocks ( almost as much is my sweet girl )… They saved me!!!

I was looking for something that was very roomy in the toe box, easy to get on and off, and as much like going barefoot as possible. And kind of cute/casual. I wear Teva sandals most of the time, but needed something for cooler weather. I tried two pairs of these - the first pair was nearly impossible to get on, though once they were on, they felt fantastic. But I have a very high arch, and there was just no way I was going to struggle like that every time. However, the second pair (a different color - Taupe) was, for whatever reason, much easier to get my foot into, and now that I've been wearing them all day almost every day, they are softer and much easier to put on. And they are so comfortable! The other issue I had with them, initially, was that the footbed was wierdly lumpy, with what I thought was supposed to be arch support located in the center of the foot bed. But after wearing them for a few days, that seemed to mold to the shape of my sole. I really love them. The taupe color is great, too, very versatile.

Wore them for five days straight walking around Taos/Santa Fe without any problems. Very comfortable. Easy to wear. I usually wear 41 narrow but somehow these 41 “regular” width worked great. Weren’t too wide - didn’t slip around but comfortbly roomy. I love them and have had compliments from strangers.
