Customer Reviews New Balance Veniz v1

I was surprised that these shoes actually caused pain just from trying them on. I've never had any shoe instantly hurt my foot. It wasn't because they were too small (these were definitely a full size smaller) there was something about the shoe that hurt the top of my foot. They are very lightweight and sort of felt flimsy. Again, I'm surprised because New Balance usually puts out quality shoes. I'm a New Balance fan! Not sure what happened with this design, but I consider it a flop. Returned.

I like New Balance shoes, and have always had to purchase 1/2 size bigger than my usual. i did that this time and had to return for a full size larger than my usual. I was looking for a comfortable shoe for a big train trip upcoming that would look smart casual. my only problem is the aglet (shoelace plastic tip). It looks like they are wrapped in white, but I can't get the white plastic off. looks silly on the end of a black shoelace. so i guess i have to buy replacement laces. see pictures

I ordered the Veniz v1, looking to switch it up from the Zante v1 I had purchased 3 or 4 years ago (?)... I recently got the Veniz in the steel/arctic fox through NB. It fits great. I also ordered several other NB styles from both NB and Zappos and this was the only one I decided to keep. Fit my foot like it was made FOR MY FOOT. I started taking a closer look and comparing it to my existing 3 or 4 year old NB Fresh Foam Zantes and realized - it is the EXACT same shoe - down to the little detail markings. The Zante v4 looks different, which would be expected. I haven't ordered that one to see how it compares with my Zante v1's, but nice to know I can basically get the same shoe in the Veniz v1. NB is very consistent in their sizing. Womens size 8 always fits. this style is a little narrower in the arch and heel with plenty of room in the toe box, which works well for my foot. I have ordered so many shoes to essentially come back to the same shoe! Zappos pricing is cheaper than NB, so I will order more colors through Zappos. Zappos makes it so easy!

Ordered these as a second choice and kept them instead!

Great shoe. I purchased just to walk around in, not for training or anything, and it works perfect for my purpose. Stylish and comfortable!

I absolutely love these shoes. So comfortable and lightweight, and they look great. I originally ordered a half size larger than my usual (which is what I always do with new balance, but I ended up returning those and getting a full size larger. I love Zappos because that process is always super fast.

I was glad to find a shoe that look so good. I was disappointed when I tried them on and they began to hurt after having them on for only a few minutes.This was even after replacing the inner sole with my normal support. I am disappointed that I have to return them.

I was looking for a style that was not just black, and these are perfect, with white & black tweed in the front. The fit was great, too--comfortable from the first time I wore them (which is for walking only). This was after ordering and returning many shoes!

Without a doubt the most comfortable out of the box shoe I have ever put on! Put them on and no breaking in period at all. So lightweight and very comfy. I'm on my feet for at least 8 hrs. a day and these shoes are great...I may just have to get more colors!

Hands down - the most comfortable shoes I've ever worn. They are so lightweight and comfortable, I forget I'm wearing them! I bought a second pair in another color, and even sent a pair to my sister.

I really love this shoe! I wear them for my outdoor runs (around 3-3.5 miles 3 days a week) and to a bootcamp/cardio class with lots of side to side motion, lunges, weight lifting, etc... and this shoe has been a champ for both. Good arch support, adequate flexibility in the sole and room in the toe box. I'm half tempted to order a few more pairs for when my current ones wear out. I was a huge fan of the Nike Free 5.0 and these have been a good substitution for me as that exact shoe is no longer available. Side note: I have two pairs of these shoes. The thunder/gray and the pink/black. Ordered the exact same size in both but the pink/black actually felt just a hair bigger/longer. Still a very comfortable fit but just thought that was odd.

Ridiculously amazing sneaker. Comfort right out of the box. I use these only for my indoor treadmill use as the bottoms will wear too quickly outside. Exactly what I wanted and needed. 5 stars all around.

Not that comfortable

I love the comfort of this shoe, I wish the sole was a little thicker so my scrub pants didn’t drag the ground when I wear them! But overall very stylish and comfortable.

Nice shoe, I like how it doesn't make my foot look huge. For me, it ran 1/2 size smaller than what I generally wear in running shoes.

Agreeing with a lot of other reviews....it's a full size smaller. I liked it, will return for a larger size

I am a runner and I have purchased other styles of New Balance in the past. After reading reviews on Zappos and other sites these shoes seemed to have a decent rating. I purchased them in March and began training for my half marathon (light running, mind you.. longest runs were 5 miles). No more than two months later there was a hole in each shoe at the big toe. I've purchased MANY pairs of running shoes over the years and none of my other shoes have ever gotten holes in them before I put them away due to too many miles. This was a first and I was highly disappointed. I will not be looking at New Balance for my next pair of running shoes. As for the fit and comfort, I highly recommend. Maybe they're just not actually built for running?

Ok, so how the heck can you stand a shoe that squeaks so much? I ordered 19 pairs of athletic shoes to try on (love you Zappos!), and this is the only one that made that rubber squeaky sound on my tile and wood floors. So loud one of my cats followed me around the house. Maybe she thought it was a mouse or bird?? Aside from the squeak, these are light weight and comfy. But even without the noise, I'd have to send them back because of pronation.

I liked the look of this shoe but once it arrived I was not happy with it on my feet. The toe was too pointed and that left my toes squished. I also am not a fan of this stretchable material for the top which lends no support on the sides of my feet. I felt like my feet were slipping around. I sent these back and went with another brand.

I wanted to love these shoes, but they have a weird ridge on the outside- it’s almost as if the arch is in the wrong place. I ordered two pairs because I love the way they look and wanted them to fit, but the ridge was super painful in both. Very disappointing, returning both pairs.

I ordered these as a possible replacement for my Vazee Rushes. They were comfortable, but I didn’t like the look compared to the Vazee Rush and these made my size 10 feet look like boats. Returned.

The sole was thin and spongy and I need more, so I will use these elsewhere besides work.
