Wow, Dr. Martens really has gone downhill with their quality. I’ve been wearing their shoes for 20 years, and these are by far the worst boots I’ve seen from them. The style is cute. But, the quality is poor. Extremely stiff, plastic-like looking exterior. All of their boots do require a break-in period to become comfortable and look better, but I can’t imagine how long that might take with these. Going back.

I am usually a size 8 but they were too big so I ended up getting a size 7 which fit perfectly. I love these boots, they didn't take any breaking in at all and I wore them all around NYC. I received so many compliments on them and never I'd be the type to wear Docs - but I love them! Supremely comfortable and stylish. Very pleased with my purchase.

As always Docs need a little breaking in to soften the leather, but after a few hour's wear these are already feeling comfy all over. The style is awesome--professional enough for my office job yet subtly edgy. Love the brogue style and the subtle polished finish.

I wear a US women’s 6.5. I had to get a 4 in these.

These are exactly what i was looking for, stylewise. I love that they have a zipper as I have a toddler and have to take shoes on/off for a lot of classes and playdates, and can't deal with full-on lace up boots several times a day. This are the first Docs I've ever owned and I have to admit I am not happy with the stiffness and needing to break them in - I knew that would be required but they are SO stiff and it seems so unnecessary. I buy plenty of shoes that don't need breaking in, at all price points! I think they're a little plastic-y looking as well for the price, although they are marked as being leather. As for fit, I'm between an 8 and 8.5 and the women's 8 fits quite well with room for thick socks. I decided to keep them because I do like the look and I do believe they'll eventually be comfortable and durable.

I’m an 8 1/2 and ordered the European 7 which is a Womens 9. Too big, returned for the 6 which is an eight , the fit was much better, didn’t feel tight or too small. I have a wider than average foot and these work great not to mention so stylish!! Love them! And I also bought my daughter a pair !

I love these boots. They are stylish with the wing tip detail and less of the combat look of the original docs. The leather is stiff so takes a bit of time to break in.

I love these boots. The style and detailing on them are gorgeous. BUT 1) they run big (I went down almost a whole size) and 2) they are SO STIFF. Like, they're hard as a rock and I'll have to wear them around my house for bit before they feel flexible enough to actually wear outside.

I wear 9.5 and ordered th 8s. When I got the 8...it was way too big. Returned the 8s and ordered a 7. The 7 fits great.

I wanted true lace up boots and the pic doesn’t show a zipper, so I was excited to order these, but totally disappointed when they showed up and there was a zipper. Back they went! Think the photo needs to be updated.

These are excellent 4 years later. Durable and comfortable.

Love these boots! It took a bit to wear in the top, but once I did they are my favorite shoes.

I love these boots! I did as the previous reviews suggested and ordered a full size down. They fit well with ankle high crew socks. I wore them around my house for an hour and they didn't feel stiff or painful. Can't wait for the weather to get colder!

Beautiful! A little stiff at first but that is to be expected with quality leather. Love the support while the beauty cannot be surpassed.

I LOVE this style of Docs. If you have never worn Docs, there is a break in period. The leather is stiff with this specific boot. There is no arch support, so thin inserts are advised if you need them. I wear an 8 1/2 women's size and so I sized down to an 8, the fit is perfect.

Money well spent on this pair!! The leather looks and feels sophisticated.

Went to London recently and saw the latest in ankle fashion boots! Didn't feel like spending $350.00 so I came back and found these on Zappos for $120.00. Got them w/in 2 days and they are great!

Great boots. Just like the previous reviewer said it takes a bit to wear in. I found that they were bigger than my other Dr. Martens. So I had to go down a size. But i am already getting a lot of compliments on them.

I love doc martens, they are well made and always very comfortable. I bought these for a trip overseas where I'd be walking a lot - these performed perfectly. Rugged but stylish. You do have to break them in so plan for that. The only downside is I wear an 8.5 US and these didn't come in half sizes. I bought 9s, and wore heavier socks so it worked out.

I have 5 other pairs of docs and these are stiffer and larger. Zappos is out of stock on the inserts, which might make a difference. The red ones were totally uncomfortable in the same size, but looked great. I'm ordering both in one size smaller in the hope that one of them will be good.
