These feel really nice for hiking boots. I bought them primarily for walking the city streets with the dog in the early morning winter hours. They have great support but are not heavy. I think they will be plenty warm with some wool blend hiking socks also. I usually wear a 9.5 in athletic shoes and got that size in these as well. Fit is great, lots of room in the toe box. If you have a really narrow heel these might be a bit big in that area. I wore them to work for 5 hours yesterday to break them in. No blisters and my feet felt good after I took them off. Overall I'm really impressed with these boots.

Unfortunately these shoes are so uncomfortable. The tongue gusset and rivets hit at my ankle bone and the back of the boot digs in to my ankle. I love the style but couldn't wear them for even a few minutes, much less a hours long hike.

I was looking for something waterproof but these are a bit too stiff. Also too wide for my foot even with the ability to adjust the lacings.

I normally wear an 8/8.5 and I purchased these in a size 8.5. I wanted to love these because the color is really unique (and they're from my hometown) but they felt super bulky. The fit seemed appropriate: a size 8.5 felt comfortable and also gave me enough room to wear a thick sock inside. However, my feet felt gigantic inside of these! It seemed like the heel stuck out in the back, at an angle even, making them longer than they really need to be. It was weird. Also, because of that angle there was a spot about halfway down the back that dug into my ankle a little bit. It wasn't that bad while walking around my house, but I imagine it would have sucked on a long hike (and probably also a short hike). The ankle support felt really good, and I loved the look and feel of the material, but these were too clunky for me so I ended up returning them.
