Hoka Stintson ATR's have been a live saver for me, a hallux rigidus runner. Sadly, the changes that were implemented in the Stinson 4's changed all that. After trying and returning the 4's and giving the Bondi's an unsuccessful whirl, I still am running in my year and a half old ATR 3's, holding my breath that when the Stintson 5's release, that the design will go back to it's roots. I am hopeful, because I simply cannot run in any other shoe because of this darn hallux rigidus and my limited dorsiflex range of motion. Thank you for reading my comment.

These are very expensive shoes. I love how cushy they are but they are NOT lasting. I also rotate these between another pair of shoes for my shorter runs. THEY ARE CRACKING ON THE TOP! Seriously, for a $159 sneaker I expected more durability, especially because they are all terrain! Can’t say I will buy again.

For a while I thought I was going to have to give up walking due to arthritis in my big toes. The previous version of this shoe, the Stinson 3, basically saved my life by shifting my weight off my toes. The Stinson 4 is NOTHING like the Stinson 3. I had severe pain after a one-hour walk in my new Stinson 4s. I don't understand why Hoka would make such a good product in the 3, then redesign it to be worthless. Not to worry. I found a couple of pairs of gently used or unused Stinson 3s on ebay in my size and bought those. I'm good for a couple of years now.

Not as much cushioning as previous versions and in 2 months my feet are hurting- I usually get 1 years out of this shoe... Disappointed

Great looking and lots of comfort. Unfortunately, for me, the toe box was not deep enough to accommodate my arthritic metatarsal joint. Also, the tongue has some padding that rubs against the toe. I normally wear Altras, but their quality has decreased so I wanted to try something new. I will have to keep looking.

I have purchased 2 pairs of stitson 3's in the past and loved them because of their fit and all around construction! I and am so unhappy with the latest version. In addition to running with this shoe, I also hiked in it. This shoe is too flexible and has a much greater heel to toe drop which puts strain on my calf. The toe box is also way too wide. I am very disappointed and wish you would bring back the old version.

The heel was way too long. I reordered and went down a half size and the toe box was too short and the heel was still way too long. So returned them too.

I'm a nurse and am on my feet all day. These shoes came highly recommended by other healthcare professionals so I decided to give them a try. I am very disappointed. My feet hurt every day. There is no cushion in these shoes and I got the "plush". I continued wearing them hoping they would get more comfortable. I have had sketchers that are way more comfortable than these for a fraction of the price. I wish I would have returned them.

I underpronate and appreciated the was this shoe was constructed in the older models. I bought several pairs and wore them out. But with this latest model they changed the shoe significantly and made it much wider (even in the normal sizes). I can't wear it anymore so I have changed to a Bondi (which is not ideal either but I sized down and they at least don't feel like clown shoes on my feet). I wish you'd make the old model available for purchase.

I wore the Stinson model for years saved me from my agonizing plantar fasciitis once they change the model to the ATR 4 it's a totally different shoe does not work for me any longer I can't even walk in them no less run . Not as much cushion as before lower heel and toe box too tight. I'm totally heartbroken don't know what I'm going to do now .any suggestions for a similar model to the old Stinson

This has been my lifesaver for many years, now that they made the front so much wider I can't wear it anymore. No stability around the front of my foot. It's like an old fashioned snow shoe!

I have worn Stinson for years and never thought I'd change. I bought the new shoes and they are much too wide in the toe box. I developed blisters from sliding around in them on trails. Why did you change the cut? I can't lace the tight enough to work now. SO BUMMED. Bring back the old design please.

this new line doesnt compare. they are not as cushion-y (not as helpful for plantar fasciitis) & they are now too wide in the toe box area. very disappointed.

They changed the stability from moderate to neutral and I got a full blown plantar fasciitis flare up. I've worn nothing but Hokas for 4 years since a back injury and have loved them. The Stinson 3 had the cushion my back needs and the stability my feet need. Please bring this combination back!!

I have been buying the Stinson model for years and I have loved them until the Stinson 4. I have always loved them because they were so comfortable, felt like I was walking on a cloud. This Stinson 4 is so uncomfortable and the toe box feels like there is absolutely no cushion. It actually makes my feet go numb. I also don't like the change in the appearance of the sole. Yes, it's not as thick in the toe box (which may be why there's no cushion there) but it's super wide and I do not like the appearance. I emailed the company but there's apparently nothing that can be done for me since I have worn the shoes and there is no manufacture defect. Unless of course it's a defect that there is no padding in the shoes.

I have been a longtime joyful wearer of the Stinson ATR 3 (at least 8 pairs). I trail walk 3-6 miles a day and these shoes are (were) the cat's meow: a lightweight, cushy workhorse platform shoe that doesn't bow to abuse. I ordered the ATR 4 without knowledge of the "updates". I thought I had accidentally ordered an elf shoe: awkward upturned toe, too wide and dreadful color. They went right back and now I am at a loss for what to buy.

Ridiculously WIDE! Why can't Hoka make a narrow shoe.

I own two pairs and have really tried to like these because I cannot find the predecessor style anywhere. These run really wide, are unattractive on, and seem to lack the plush padding of the earlier style. I only wear Hokas so I will try a different style but it is discouraging when a great style is "updated" to a less satisfactory one. Not everyone has wide feet!!

I do not like these shoes at all! So wide that they look like clown shoes!!! I would send them back in a minute if I had the box! After wearing them the first day I developed sciatic pain in my back which my chiropractor feels like is caused by the shoes. Sure which you did not change ths design.

Very disappointed with the new Stinson ATR 4 .I have been a Hoka devotee for 7 years and this particular model has always worked great. The new 4 is completely different lacking the support and cushion I love and the new wide toe box left my foot moving around too much.I returned the shoes and am scrambling to find the ATR 3.

Fits well. Great construction. Cushioning is perfect. Only prob is that it rocks too much frpm toe to heel. I returned them and plan to order Challenger.
