I use this pack for travel to work site, it carries all my essentials, including work laptop ( large toughbook),iPad, chargers, set of clothes, winter gear ( toque and gloves) and man soap. I really like the intergrated strap to lock down laptop in the main pack, and the dual sleeve in the back area holds a tablet and paper work nicely. 2 mesh pockets in the main opening flap also make it easy to find charging cables or snacks! The out side has a perfect located pocket up top, I usually store my keys or wallet, I wouldn't suggest this in a high theft area as it is pretty easy to access. The pack is soild and one of the best overbuilt packs I have seen yet. That being said it does come with some weight so if you are looking watching those grams for packing, try it before you buy it, Timbuk may have other suitable. Have noticed some wear on some of the edges and folds that are exposed to abrasion from wear and tear, nothing major to report but the black has turned sort of white in those areas. Other than that they have stood up well as I am told I'm hard on equipment:)

I've used this bag for a couple trips now and I'm happy with my purchase overall. The bag looks great, can hold most of the things I need, and is pretty comfortable. However, there is something I'd recommend Timbuk2 to address. The primary issue I have is with the internal cinching straps. The place they are anchored within the bag pull at the outer shell in a way that makes the laptop zipper almost unable to use. (ie- If you cinch down your clothes Inside, you'll have a hard time zipping and unzipping the external laptop compartment to almost an unusable state) I usually travel with my laptop, so this becomes annoying unless I unload or release the internal straps.

Asia Strong I'd simply would like to give a genuine compliment to Timbuk2 and sincere recommendation to anyone considering their bags in general and the Wander Backpack Duffel in particular. I researched a large quantity of premium branded backpacks and luggage on the market and I can wholeheartedly confirm that this company creates distinctive and contemporary bags that are durable, efficient and distinctive enough to garner plenty of compliments. In addition to the bag being incredibly handsome, the stregnth and high quality finish of the materials reflect the superiority over other bags in its class. I can confidently make these claims following 6 months of overall use including its first global trip from the US to Thailand. Following multiple plane and hotel stops in Seoul, Bangkok, Chiang Mai and Phuket, the bag was absolutely bulletproof - literally not a scratch on it. Its so roomy, utilizing every millimeter of space with discrete zippers and hidden pockets all over the bag. It was the perfect carry on that stored a few days worth of clothes and even shoes and sandals at its zippered base along with my 15 inch laptop that resided in a dedicated sealed area in the back of the bag. Overall its tough, water resistant and greatly efficient, I highly recommend it for all types of global travel. The only con with the Wander Duffle bag I can convery are the often mentioned waist clips that rather easily come loose. I resolved that issue and its rarely happened again, however, I do remain aware that its possibility. I must add that I was also in the market for a sleek and contemporary 27" piece of luggage and would have easily chosen this item from Timbuk2 also, however, I didnt care for the style of their 27 and 30 large luggage. Their standard luggage appears highly functional but does not have the same sleek and cutting edge look as most of their other beautiful bags. My hope is that their designers rethink the exterior designs of their luggage.

It was necessary for us to have an additional bag for our heavier winter items and this one did the trick! We were able to pack it all the way out AND still carry it on the flight with us. It's simply perfect! And it's our FIFTH Timbuk2 purchase in four months! We tossed all of our bags and now have a collection of different styles for the family!

I travel often and like to pack light for trips that average 5-7 days. I've been wanting a carry on bag that I could use as a back pack and could also fit under the seat on the plane. I was able to do this with this bag. I was able to pack an extra pair of shoes, three sweatshirts, 6 t-shirts, 6 pairs of underwear and socks, shorts, sleeping pants, laptop, beats wireless in charger, laptop charger and plug in, phone charger, big bag of m&ms, several cliff bars, sun glasses, water bottle and other things. The compression straps held it all in and I was able to fit under the seat on the plane. Wales around easily as backpack and handles made it easy to pick up. My only con would be that I have to undo the compression straps to open the top. Made it difficult when I tried to get something out quickly.

Using for multi day travel. The bag is Made of tough, high quality material, keeps it shape (not floppy like some bags), and plenty of external pockets to put smaller items in.

I bought this pack off the shelf at MEC in Canada prior to reading any reviews. It checked all my boxes with the exception of having a waist belt, and I loved its basic sleek look. When I got home I ended up reading online reviews and was worried at the mention of the shoulder straps popping loose and the obvious concern of the unattached sternum strap falling off and getting lost. I liked the bag enough to stick with it and after a 5-week trip through Morocco where I was on the move constantly, I am here to report back! This pack work perfectly for me. I loved all the features, found the zippers easy to use and it was a dream to pack and unpack. The exterior held up well to being thrown into dusty buses, the shoulder straps were easy to slide into storage and never once came undone unexpectedly. I will agree that the sternum strap is a design flaw. There isn't anything to prevent them from sliding off when you unclip the shoulder straps, but I found a work-around that worked okay (not great) for me. When I knew I was going to store the straps I clipped the sternum straps together and slid them all the way to the top of the straps where they would stay in place. When I reconnected the shoulder straps I just had to reach up, unclip the sternum straps from one another and slide them down. It definitely could use improvement, but that worked for me. The other thing I was concerned about was not having a waist strap. It ends up that in spite of feeling like I had packed too much, my bag weighed in at less than 20 lbs and even after buying a few trinkets along the way, I never felt like my bag was uncomfortable to wear. There were a couple of times we walked over a mile in our packs and even then it felt fine. I think that if you aren't carrying really heavy gear or camera equipment, the size of this pack actually works fine with just the sternum strap. If this bag had a better sternum strap and maybe the option of a waist belt and I might have to declare it perfect!

This bag is simply amazing. I don’t know how I ever traveled without it! I use as a gym bag daily but it fits perfectly as a carry on bag when I travel. Lot s of well thought-through pockets. The side pocket works well for shoes and they fit easily. Buy this one - you won’t regret it!

I don't typically write reviews for products, but I was really impressed with this bag. I bought this bag for a week-long trip to Guatemala. I didn't exactly pack light, but there was plenty of room for a week's worth of clothes and an extra pair of shoes. I even had enough room to bring back stuff I bought while on my trip. I didn't have any issues with the straps and I carried it on my back for long periods of time. It also was small enough for carry-on. Highly recommend this bag for backpacking trips.

A fantastic travel bag. Fits an amazing amount of gear, stays comfortable when carrying and fits the overhead lockers on aircraft perfectly. Comes with loads of pockets and sections to separate clothes, wet/dry, etc and to carry all those small items as well as the great rear access zipped area for your laptop/surface. For a great price and even looks good enough for me to get a couple of comments and questions the first time I used it. Cant recommend highly enough.

The Wander Pack is great for domestic and international travel. I have used it on multiple trips to Africa and India. I use it as my carryon luggage and it fits easily in the overhead luggage compartments on both large international flights and smaller domestic flights. The top, bottom and front compartments are useful for organizing my packing. The rear sleeve is very useful for carrying my laptop. The bag has withheld my tough use of it; especially given I have carried books and notebooks in it in addition to clothing. The four front straps are helpful in cinching the backpack closed to compact the bag. Also, I think the Wander Pack has a great look.

I am very happy with this back pack overall for the price I paid. The cost and purchase process was fantastic. I couldn't believe there were no mentions of an laptop compartment. I only noticed this 5 minutes into playing with it. Once it found it i was fully in love with this pack. Its the perfect setup of pockets and sections.

I bought this for my sister. She flies frequently and is rather rootless at the moment. She is able to fit the bag under the seat in front of her on a plane. One of her favorite features is the shoe storage pocket. We've both owned several Timbuk2 products over the last ten or twelve years and have never been disappointed by the usability and durability. She is a very short person and still reports that the bag is comfortable to wear.

Took this bag on a trip to Scandinavia. It was very handy to have with us. We had multiple bags and the one thing I think this bag would benefit from would be hooks to add a shoulder strap to carry it as a duffle or take our messenger bag straps to use it as a duffle.

The way the straps locks are designed, when there is no weight applied to the straps, they get loose frequently. The other thing is the extra support straps (from side to side in front), are not properly secured, so they end up loose also. Other than that desing flaw, this backpack is perfect. I would love to buy another one, if they change that strap design.

Premier Review of Free Product(What's this?)
The Timbuk2 Wander Pack is a great multi-purpose backpack for Pacific Northwest dwellers or for anyone who needs a backpack that can take some exposure to the weather. It is water resistant, so it performed well at keeping my gear dry on a 30 minute walk to work in a pretty thick drizzle. It's not waterproof so I wouldn't count on it to keep things bone dry in a downpour but it is good for basic commuter duty. I also really liked lower compartments ... good for segregating dirty shoes or a swimsuit. Both me (5'6") and my husband (6'3") were able to adjust the straps for a comfortable fit. I use it for a gym/commuter bag and love that I can easily fit my gym clothes, gym shoes, lunch, and laptop. Would also make a good weekend bag. Only complaint is lack of a mesh outer pocket for a commuter cup or water bottle, but there are plenty of places on the bag to clip one on so it is not too big of a deal.
I'd also recommend:

I packed for 4 days to an out of town Baseball Tournament for my kiddo. And it had plenty of room for more days! It was also light weight after packed! My 8 year old thought it was so cool! I would have to agree with him! It will be my new go to for short trips!

I was very impressed with the amount of pockets and the sturdiness of this backpack. The zippers are well made and strong to accommodate any stress put on them from over packing. The material was heavy in thickness but not in weight. Very strong and durable. The pockets were great because you could put certain items in easier access so you would not have to dig through the bag to locate them. The straps were very comfortable and did not cut into my shoulders. The only downside was the secure strap across the chest cut into my breasts so for a woman with a larger chest this would not be comfortable to use and the fact that the backpack was "boxy" almost like a carry on piece of luggage for a airline flight.

I have tested it out as a future diaper bag. I can fit so many things into it! I seriously will not be getting an actual diaper bag, considering the space and various compartments. Im not even sure how many different compartments I counted. It is definitely 7 or more. If I had this bag when I was in school, I would have never needed another bag. It is quite lightweight, considering it's size, and can be stored wherever one would normally store backpacks (closet, rack, shelf, etc.,). I love the compartments that are small enough for just bottles or extra pacifiers. I would highly recommend this backpack. It's truly amazing.
