The whole idea, from what my mind would comprehend, of buying an 8" boot is to have ANKLE SUPPORT!!! (Or protection). I fractured my ankle while wearing th 6" version of this boot and thought... "Well, while I heal and get strength back in my ankle, I''ll get the *" shaft to support the joint better". Nope! Think deerskin glove soft leather. You'd get more support by wearing two pair of socks. You'd could get mosquito bites through these shafts. It would be nice if they at minimum had a fiberglass or kydex stay of some sort sewn in. Great for watching football in your lounge chair, just be careful not to blow out your fibia when you have to walk to the kitchen for more Cheetos!

Found these boots to be too large, ordered the wrong size twice and gave up, for now. I may circle back and try again. I think they are sharp looking and would probably buy arch supports- if you need that extra support.

Fit great and classic looks, they do the job.

The shoes feel amazing. I love the smell of the real leather. And from day one they have been comfortable. With just a little breaking in they are absolutely perfect.

First time putting them on felt wonderful and it added a couple of inches to my height.

Very comfortable boot. I wear them everyday, all day. I wear a 4E width boot and these are EW width and fit very nicely

Incredibly fast shipping. I received the shipping confirmation yesterday and received the item this morning. Didn't think that was possible as I live in a rural area that is not known for speedy delivery.

Although it's about half size larger maybe because i used to foreign sizes but still comfortable am not going to return it, Am very happy with it it's just an awesome style, It's my first purchase at zappos i think i will be a long term customer saving a lots of time going every where trying to find the style i want.

Zappps is great . Olny complaint is the boots them selfs , thier Cheap pig skin boots . They don't provide good ankle support.

Just so we're on the same page, Wolverine, "extra wide" is not 4E !!!!! These are too narrow for 4E, so if that is your width buy a size larger (and look like Bozo the clown) or look elsewhere!

This boot is made of low quality materials especially the leather. The boot is not fitted well, as it contains a lot of extra volume. In boot fitting, it is incorrect to go down in size to try to make up for extra volume in a boot/shoe. If you have a thick foot this boots might fit it, but otherwise avoid these boots. There are boots of better fit and better quality at equal or lower prices out there.
