Close, but no. Aaarggh! Will someone please make a barefoot ballet shoe, without stiff material that jams toes, that does not have an insert that raises the heel? Merrell used to make a shoe like that. This is close, but ultimately a failure.

Finally a supportive flat that doesn’t squish my pinky toe!

I have a low arch, so I found these plenty supportive. The draw back - and reason I intend to return - is that the vamp comes up too high and digs in as I walk. If the top had more give (maybe larger) or if I had more toe cleavage (like with Born's flats) I don't think this would be problem. But, I'm unsure that going up a half size will help since they might just end up loosey goosey overall.

I love these shoes, but the vamp is too high and hurts when I walk. I gave it 1 star for comfort because of this.

I'm not sure what others are experiencing, but these shoes are awesome. They are the most comfortable shoes I've owned not the add they're quite esthetic. They are wider than expected but I have wide feet so it works for me. I also had to downsize by a half.

These shoes are nicely made. The right shoe fit but the left pushed in on my bunion. These shoes are very roomy in the toe box and are true to size. Very sorry the shoe just hit on the wrong spot on the left foot. Non bunion feet should be fine. High quality, they would wear a long time.

I live Merrell shoes, for the on-my-feet-all-day comfort! But as a college professor, I tend to wear the not-so-dainty slides and mocs as my winter closed-toe shoe. Ive started buying flats/ballet slippers for how pretty they look with leggings and skirts, but no arch support. Imagine my delight to find that Merrell is selling ballet flats! Imagine my disappointment to find how painfully tight these are on the top edge of the toebox! But...but...they're so cute and so supportive! But...but...I can't walk more than 10 feet before the pain stops me! Finally my clever husband suggested I modify the shoe insert. We've started with cutting down cheap store inserts, to see if this works. Yes, I can now wear them, but of course, now they're too long, I guess, as the shoe slides around on my foot. Haha, I may still have to exchange for a smaller size!

I love(d) Merrell, and so I gave them the benefit of the doubt and ordered these even though all the reviews said they were not good. They are just not worth the cost. There is absolutely no arch support, which is the main reason I like this brand. And there isn't very much cushion either. The toes also lift up in a way that puts pressure on the ball of the foot and looks awkward. Sadly, I'm sending them back.

These are cute! I got the red color and it’s a nice, deep red. First few wearings were pinchy and I did get a nice blister on one foot- but I probably shouldn’t have tried to wear them all day for the first time. I put a blister cushion in the heel and they’re we’re fine. They’re cushy in all of the right places.

Very comfortable but a little big for my 8.5 -9 foot !! Ordered the 9 !! Returning

These flats are better than I'd hoped for! I have bunions but a narrow heel, so I've tried just about every "ballet" flat made. These fit my foot perfectly. Love the sporty look--the removable foot bed is a nice bonus.

Love these shoes. I usually wear an 8 1/2 but these are too big ... getting the 8

I like these shoes and am on my third pair. My son's dog chewed up one pair, so I ordered a replacement pair. (same color). I am ordering a pair of black this time. I wear custom orthotics most of the time, but they don't fit well in these shoes, so I wear the shoes "as is" which if fine for a few hours. Very little break in time. Shoes should not need to be broken in.

Wider than expected. Not attractive. Good quality shoe though.

Very stylish, very cute shoe. They are a little stiff but the foot bed felt comfortable. Will give them a try.

I normally take an 8 1/2, but the Merrells in that size were way too tight in the toe box, and the high vamp cut into the top of my foot. Going up a half size to 9 is much better, but a bit loose in the heel area. The vamp is still a bit tight, but feels like it will loosen up with a few wearings. I am also going to put in some insoles so I can wear them without stockings or socks, so that will probably take care of the loose fit in the heel area. Love the look of these shoes, and the fact that the flat sole that is truly flat!

Really cute, but the back came up too high and was too stiff on my heel for my liking. I’m sure a little break-in time would have increased the comfort, but I just don’t have the patience for it. There was a lot of squeaking from the sole with every step, like wet tennis shoes on a dry floor.

I have a pair of Merrell Captiva boots that I loved, so I ordered the same size in these shoes and was ready to love them, but they don't work. My biggest complaint is how tight they are on top--they cut into the top of my foot very uncomfortably. I would size up, but as it is I have at least 1/2 inch of extra space in the toe box, and it makes my foot look longer that it is. I bought these in both red and black because I was expecting to love them...I'm wondering if the top part will stretch at all, but really, I probably just need to return them. Sigh...

So cute, I wanted to love them but so awkwardly proportioned. The toe portion was strangely long, the heel made my ankles rotate inward, the heel came uncomfortable high. Great idea, just not there in construction.

I wanted to love these, but I couldn't. The biggest drawback was the lack of support. And, the right shoe was not made correctly as there was something sharp that dug into the side of my foot. I had to send them back.

I really, really wanted these to work. I have a pair of Merrell Plie flats from years back that I needed to replace. Naturally, I thought that Merrell might have an adequate replacement. I received these and tried them on - the sides where are too tight and the toe cup cuts into the top of my foot. Sadly having to return these.
