These Merrell's felt great right out of the box. I never write reviews but I just spent an hour shoveling a 12+ inches of wet snow and my feet are warm an dry. These things are great and they look great too!!!

I really wanted to like these shoes. They fit perfect from day one, felt amazing, looked great, and offered great traction.
They are waterproof, however the tongue is not! That did help them breathe and wick away sweat though, something other waterproof shoes don't do well. Also if left untreated the leather will swell and start passing moisture through the seams.
Not an ideal shoe for working in wet areas.
The thing that made me hate this shoe is the rubber stitched around the toe.
Ripped on the side of one shoe within a few weeks!
I'd also recommend:

The Merrill insoles were too firm in the arch — painfully so, even for someone with good arches like mine (neutral support is what I typically look for). But I swapped them out for more neutral insoles and it worked great. Wore them hiking in the snow in Colorado. Waterproof, as advertised. Comfortable. Love ‘em.

This was an excellent boot to go with if you want versatility. I'm using mine in a rugged dry dessert environment with some rainfall in the cold seasons. I needed the water proof to continue packing light, and not have to carry my daily wear and a water proof packed aside. This boot worked exceptionally well and much lighter than expected. It's a very flexible boot and gives me a lot of stability. Even when I have the laces worn loosely I still feel well planted. If you need something versatile, comfortable, flexible, light, and durable I really can't think of a better boot. 10/10 recommend.

These shoes are the most comfortable Merrel's I've had and that's saying a lot. I don't know about the durability yet since I've only had for a week. They provide great ankle support and look sharp. Great shoe so far!

The Annex Trak Mid Waterproof is a great shoe. They are surprisingly light, despite being rugged and durable. They are completely waterproof, as advertised, and are as comfortable as you can expect from a nice pair of boots. I'll be using them mainly for snowy conditions, and so far they have held up astonishingly well. I highly recommend them.

Great all around daily wear boot. If you're used to wearing boots, these are a great find! Coming from shoes, they felt a little constricting at first, but two weeks in and they fit like a glove. Amazing craftsmanship in a very attractive package, well done.

I'm a believer in Merrell and I have several pairs of shoes and boots. These are by far the best I've owned. All day comfort out of the box. They feel rugged and should last a long time. I use them for riding boot on my Enduro motorcycles and my feet stay dry in light rain. Light rain on a bike is a lot of water thrown on your boots. I have not worn them in warm weather yet. I have other boots for that.

First pair of Merrell shoes and definitely wont be the last one!
Really comfortable. I wear them every day to college and later on the weekends go for a bit of hiking (off the trail). They still look like they're brand new!

Shoe is a bit wider the I would have expected. I have to make sure I snug up laces for it to feel secure. But overall shoes are comfy and holding up nicely as with any Merrell I've purchased. Great products, keep it up!

A great pair of boots, solid construction, the sole is great. I bought the blue ones, Sodalite they call it, and they have a dark, rugged look. Good arch support and heel cushion.

These things are great. They are incredibly comfortable for a work shoe, not stiff and rigid like others. You can still tell they are high quality. Purchased for work but I plan to wear them for a while before getting them dirty!

This company continues to focus on top quality products, design and materials used. The shoes are comfy from day one. And I expect them to last as long as the other Merrells I have tortured in the past. Thanks guys!

True to size and very comfortable. This is a great walking/hiking shoe, sturdy yet lightweight. I love the extra big hooks on the top, easy to keep laces fastened. The red laces are a nice accent but not overly flashy. Can't say I have any regrets so far after a few weeks of owning them.

I've been wearing the Annex shoe for a few years and really love it. Tried the low cut first but like these better. t's my everyday shoe and it holds up well in dry and wet seasons here in Chicago. I'm on my feet all day in retail and gives my aging knees and back great support. Even better once I added an orthotic like insert. After about 6 months the leather had separated from the base of the shoe. And after a year the back inside heel has warn out. I would say expected since I wear these just about every day. Will be ordering a new pair very soon.

Overall I'm extremely satisfied. But I want to say this to Merrell. Do not discontinue this shoe. Almost all good boots and shoes that are made with quality and attention to detail. Usually last the customer 1-3 yrs. and by the time they wear down and the customer orders more. . The company has discontinued the products. So please don't screw up and quit making these. These boots have no break in time. Great tread. All the seams appear to be put together in a very durable fashion. They're casual enough to wear with everyday clothes. But durable enough to tackle anything I throw at them. I work outside of the United States often. So finding shoes that can stand up to long work days. And wet muddy conditions for extended periods of time Isn't easy. If I had to give a tip to improve anything. I would say merrell should add another 1 to 1.5 inches to the neck of the boot. It would make lacing and tying them easier. And further reinforce the ankle and lower leg. I am very happy with these boots. I've had them about 3 weeks now. Also about sizing. This is for future customers. I wear a size 10. But desperately needed boots. So I ordered a 9.5. These boots are causal enough they'll stretch some and conform to your feet without a great deal of discomfort.. So if your size isn't available for order. Going a half size smaller isn't that big of a problem. I've worn rocky boots. Georgia boots. Red wings. Chippewas. Wolverines. Justin's. And almost all of them have sold out in the last 5 years. And a lot of their boots have became substandard to what were used to wearing from them. I discovered Merrells about 2 years ago. And I haven't looked back since. I hope someone in senior management reads this. And doesn't let these boots ever become discontinued. They should be a cornerstone of your company. Just like the chameleon shoes.
