Best shoe for runners who supinate and need maximum cushioning. Haven’t bought anything but Muzuno since I began running 14 years ago.

I only tested these shoe out for solidness and bending. A shoe that easily bends like a noodle is no good for your feet and body. This shoe fits that description: too bendable to use. If a show easily bends more than a foot bends, then that shoe will not properly support your foot and body.

Very happy with these shoes. Awesome colors. Great fit. I feel like I can run forever in them. I have tried Asics, New Balance and Nike and these are by far the best. I ordered them on a Wednesday at Noon and had them on Thursday. How does Zappos do that? Amazing!

This is my 5th Mizuno Wave Creation. It feels very comfortable and well-cushioned during running. Compared to the older shoe, which is around 500 miles old, there is a huge difference. It fits well right away, with only a minimal adjustment period. The laces a soft and create a very solid knot, which does not untangle during a run. The style is conservative, but pleasant. In the past these shose were available at a discount if one were to shop around; however, now the price seems unwavering and quite high. Yet I'm comforted by the fact that the price will average out over the years.

I purchased these after 4 consecutive pairs of Brooks Ghost. They are quite different shoe than Ghost - definitely a bit heavier and more substantial, but not in a negative way. The support is neutral as expected. The cushion is a little more plush at the front & a touch firmer at the heel, but still very forgiving for my bad knees. I wore them out of the box for better part of a day - very comfortable. Disappointed in colors offered by Brooks lately. The Mizuno's look and feel really well made and the colors are great. I'm happy to find a comfortable shoe that looks this nice.

I have been running in Mizuno Wave Creation shoes for years. The design of this model is perfect for my feet and running imperfections. I spent a couple years going through a dozen different brands and models, and when I found this model I haven't switched since. Can't wait for my new pair to arrive.

There are many 'sock' like shoes in the market today but their lack of support & stability will show. I have an Adidas Adizero Boston which 'out of the box' felt comfy. After a couple of weeks in my Wave Creation 19, in drag race fashion, it flew buy in overall quality, features & feel. It's a keeper.

I ran on my first pair of Wave Creations in the summer of 2006. I have never looked back. This year's iteration is another winner. I am a 6' 0" / 190 lbs. runner with a neutral foot strike, and this shoe feels like it was made for me. I have trained and raced in Wave Creations for every distance from 5K to Marathon, and have never had any issues. I purchased my Wave Creation 19's in Directoire Blue-Silver a little over a month ago and have had no issues with them after 50 miles on the shoes. I switch between the WC 19's and a pair of WC 18's every other day as I train. As always, I purchased size larger then I wear in other brands which just seems to be the norm for Wave Creations.
Other reviewers are complaining that the shoe has too much cushion, which is kind of funny because the Wave Creations have always been promoted as Mizuno's neutral, high mileage, cushion shoe, "Designed for a smoother, long lasting, responsive ride with a soft underfoot feel." Which in my opinion is exactly what you get with this shoe.
Highlights of the 19 over the 18:
New sock liner is great. Tongue is integrated in to the liner so it does not move as much during a run. Shoe Laces: the 19's laces did not have to be shortened unlike both pairs of 18s I have. Out of the box, the 19's are still long enough to double knot, but not so long that they are underfoot when you run.
Overall: Love this shoe...

I have worn a size 13 my entire adult life. These fit true to size. I haven’t run in them yet but I did wear them today during a boot camp style class. They felt great!

I can not deny it, they are super comfortable and supportive. But how did they get there you ask? They widened it from the 18s, changed the tread pattern and also added more cushioning in the forefoot. It took me a solid month of running to get use to them, as they seemed quite heavier and larger than every previous model I've had. I started with the Wave Creation 8, and I average 2-3 of each model number a year. I use to love how firm, narrow and fast those older models were. I still love the WC19s as their wave and drop from the heal is far superior to anything else from other brands IMO. IF ONLY Mizuno would come out with a HERITAGE line (a la Air Max 95s??? or something similar) to keep long time customers happy!

I bought these for my boyfriend. He usually wears Asics but had been having issues with them wearing out too soon. I can say that he has had these for a few months now and they are comfortable and holding up. He will definitely order another pair.

2 months use now for this shoe. I have worn the Wave Creation's for 10 years because their design works for my anatomy as a heel striker with unstable ankles. MY GRIPES: PRICE-Hard to see why this shoe is priced so high. STYLE: Mizuno offers arguably better color options to their Asian and EU markets (they sell out fast) than the odd color schemes they offer to their USA market; this is offensive. AVAILABILITY: While the Wave Creation was once easily found on the shelves of the major mall and running shoe stores, no one is carrying this shoe anymore. (Fortunately, Zappos is offering a 30 day tryout and return; but this is a trial program.) INSOLES: Are harder to remove and replace on this issue 19 than on prior issues--which is important to keeping your shoes fresh. LACES: The issue 19 laces are spongy and more difficult to loosen and tighten than on previous models; which is important for most runners. All of this makes me wonder if Mizuno is serious about marketing this shoe. Given the above, I will be looking for alternatives to the Mizuno Wave Creation, as I believe the future of the Wave Creation is uncertain.

I had to return these shoes. After wearing them in the house for a couple hours to test, I developed blisters on top of my feet due to excessive tongue material bunching up. The tongues are sewn-in with this version and do not sit flat. I regularly run half marathons and have been a loyal Mizuno Wave Creation fan until this version. I hope the next model eliminates the bulky, sewn-in tongue.

I've been wearing Mizuno running shoes for years. My last few pairs have been the Wave Creation. I just recently upgraded to the 19, and now I'm getting blisters. This particular version of the shoe has too much cushion. This is causing my foot to sink in and move around a little more than normal, which is giving me a blister just behind the ball of my foot where it meets the arch. I've never had a single blister with Mizuno shoes until now. I can't run more than 4-5 miles without getting a blister now. This particular version also runs a little hot compared to previous versions. My feet definitely feel warmer than before. I've also tried many types of socks, including double layer and smartwool. None of those have helped keeping cool or prevented blisters. The problem is definitely the shoe, which is very unfortunate. My current runs are about 4 miles for short/recovery and 9 miles for distance runs. I have about 50 miles in these shoes so far. I would avoid this model until they can improve these issues.

I really wanted this shoe to work, having only great success with the Wave Creation line since the Wave Creation 9's. I have tried the Wave Riders however they always seemed too cushiony with not enough spring in the mid-foot. I believe Mizuno must have had hundreds of complaints for too much cushion stiffness in their previous models. But this is what Wave Creation enthusiasts enjoyed about the shoe-line, a snug glove like fit around the top of the foot, wave-plate under the heel with just enough hard rubber, enough cushioning in the forefoot that isnt spongy. This is why Mizuno went with ultra cushioning of the shoe with way too much padding around the ankle, and sponginess in the forefoot. It's really a let down. I had to return my pair and was lucky enough to find a new pair of Wave Creation 16's. It's really a shame because Mizuno 13's to 18's seem to have the same type of "stiff" cushioning level. Also the color schemes were much better. The 19's also feel too heavy and don't allow good foot extension through my stride. I agree with the other reviewer on the level of softness of this shoe. I didnt even own my long enough to get blisters. I just knew i had to return these. I wish there was a way to persuade Mizuno to revert their Wave Creation construction back to the look and feel of the 14's-18's for the next model. If they do that I will look forward to purchasing the Wave Creation 20's.
