I purchased the men's gotham jacket 2, last week for a last minute decision that I made to go up to Yosemite to see the snow. I didn't really do much research about the jacket except to read the online reviews. I do want to write about my experience with this jacket. I am 5ft 11in, 160 pounds. I got the small jacket which fits perfect, doesn't feel big or bulky. I tend to run cold during the winter, so I was a little worried that this might not be right in the snow and only 18 degrees and the nights around 10 degrees. I did put on some thermal underwear underneath my jeans and flannel shirt. I started my morning in Yosemite at 5:30 AM to take this picture and the jacket worked great, I had no issues and felt warm the entire day, I even continued to hike for another 8 hours around the valley and the Jacket kept me very warm throughout the day. I plan on keeping this jacket and using it for years to come as I explore more of Yosemite.

I usually wear a size medium, but this jacket runs a bit large. I'm 5'9" tall, weigh 170 pounds and the size small fit me perfect.

Bought this coat for a trip to New York. Kept me nice and warm. Was nice to stay dry when the weather got crummy.

I bought this jacket for my husband. He rarely shows any enjoyment on new clothes, but this jacket was a HIT!! He didn't want to take it off. He kept walking around the house looking at himself in every mirror admiring the jacket!

I use this jacket in Michigan, I bought it for the winter so I can walk my huskies. I walk them over ten miles a week and I must say grabbing this jacket just feels right warm, comfortable, lightweight, stylish. Awesome jacket! I would recommend to want one going into the cold climates, however that being said you can wear a t shirt and this jacket in about 35-40 and it's perfect for a walk. Colder then that I'd grab a light sweatshirt or a undergarment to keep warm. Yesterday I was on a hike and at 4 miles I was very hot the jackets inside was pretty wet especially from the rain, and it dried within a few hours.

Hands down the best jacket I've bought. I've researched and compared down filled options for about 6 months and kept coming back to this. I almost went with a much more expensive "brand" but couldn't doubt TNF value. Not bulky at all in fact it sits closer to the body than some of the other down NF options. Nobody is giving enough credit to the built in face mask. It's just fit enough to stay put but not tight enough to be uncomfortable. Pull it all the way down and protect your neck without having to fully zip up. Guys with cool hair prob not gonna use it as often as us shaved guys. This is an absolute no brained purchase at the current sale price. I stuck with my normal size even though others say to size down. I tend to run hot and just didn't want a snug fit with a down fill. Fits perfectly for me. 5'9" 190 lbs. with the large size. The hood has pull strings so it doesn't open as large as one of the other reviews said. Fully zipped up and fur pulled forward with the hood tightened and you get that similar tunnel protection from wind that the higher cost brands like to highlight. I'd buy 3 of these before buy 1 of those from the $900+ companies hands down.

Now that retirement is here, the gift of The North Face Gotham Jacket III was a most welcome surprise. Its versatility will open the door to new adventures. I prefer rib-knit cuffs and rib-knit hem, but there are few jackets that have them. This jacket can also be worn at formal events such as church, et cetera. This is my first North Face jacket, and it won't be my last one.

My son asked for a North Face coat so being that his grades are A's and B's I felt he deserved it. He said that all the popular kids are wearing them. It's cold here in Virginia and my son said he feels well protected from the harsh weather. This coat will be very useful at the bus stop for him. He also said the coat is stylish and comfortable.

I use this jacket when the weather drops below freezing and the windchill gets below 0 degrees. It is amazing because it is a single jacket compared to buying a fleece, down jacket, and shell combo that would end up costing nearly triple the price. On top of that I was able to buy it on sale so the value was outstanding compared to the other comparable jackets.

This was a Christmas gift for my husband. His son had a North Face coat, he tried it on, and fell in love with it. I would recommend this coat to EVERYONE who wants to stay warm and dry. He's walking to dog more just so he can wear the coat. It was worth every penny.

I bought this for my brother and loved that it fit true to size. He's wearing it to a trip in Lake Tahoe and this jacket will be his key piece as it keeps you warm without having to over-layer. It's made with super high quality fabric and I feel like he won't need another jacket for the cold weather/snow for a long, long time.

I recently started my chemo treatments and needed a jacket that was going to keep me warm there and back and for all my other doctor visits and appointments. This jacket has done the job and then some. I never have to worry about feeling cold at all. I do wish the pockets were a little deeper, but there's so many that I can fill them up. I did some research about what type of jacket to get before buying this one. I love this jacket and am so happy I made the purchase.

This jacket is replacing my ultra warm down coat/jacket. I waited until this NF jacket went on sale in January and jumped on it. I've had it for 6 months or so and keep getting compliments from complete strangers when I wear it. I got the fire engine red one in the large size and love it. It is not bulky, I have 35/36 inch shirt sleeve and this jacket accommodates my long arms with ease. Love the hood and how much more warm it offers when needed. I'm amazed as to how comfortable I feel wearing this jacket. It just seems to fit me like a warm and comfortable old glove that hugs me in it's warmth. Such a nice feeling. Oh, and I know this is a bit of of an odd comment, but the plastic zipper is the easiest zipping zipper, I've ever had the pleasure to work with. No more wrestling zippers. If I had one idea for improvement, it would be to make the outside side pockets deeper, as my cell phone continuously falls out when I'm sitting in my car. By no means a deal breaker. Thanks North Face for making the Gotham III with such integrity, color selection, warmth, and North Face quality. This one's a keeper and will probably be an unsightly mess before, years form now, I go looking for a suitable replacement. Ha, with the Gotham III, I laugh in the face of NE winter.

I bought this jacket for my teenage son who has an allergy to the cold. I am very happy that it keeps him so warm! He loves the style, multiple pockets, and built-in neck gaiter. We looked at several other companies, but came back to The North Face because your products are so high quality.

I bought this for my boyfriend and he is obsessed with it. We were at a football game I was bundled up and freezing and he was comfortable in just his jacket barley layered. I am now looking into buying one for me. So lightweight and fashionable. Super comfortable.

I dont consider it a gift because I bought this jacket for My Son. He loves the jacket. He wanted 1 like Mine but not as long so He picked out this 1 and He is exremely happy and so am I. I know its expensive but You must pay if You want good quality and when it comes to Your Children no price is to high. He waits outside every morning for His bus and it is very cold at 7 a.m. where We live so this protects Him from all the elements. It gives Me piece of Mind knowing He is warm. Thank you northface for making such a warm and great looking product.

Aside from it running big, I'm 6'0 and 160lbs, I'm surprised for a M it was just a little too bulky. Easy return label came in package so I'm waiting on small size. Easily the highest quality and warmest jacket I've ever worn. Finding the face mask built into the hood was a HUGE bonus.

Great winter coat! Been outside all day in the wind and cold a was toasty warm. North Face products are expensive, but you get what you pay for and I’m hoping for 4 or 5 years of being warm.
