This is my 2nd Northface coat purchase, which to survive Chicago winters. Had my first for 7 years, so hoping the same for this new one. Initial impressions, itll meet these expectations!

I really loved the quality of the coach. If it fit me well across the bust I would have kept it. I tried one size up from it and that was awful the same didn't fit across the bust.
I would definitely keep this if it hadn't been for fit.

I use the jacket to brave the cold New England winter. The harbor breeze sends a chill down my spine and wearing the jacket helps with me not freezing to death.

As a tall woman with hips, i hate wearing men coats. They are unattractive and bulky. Because i am 6'1 it is hard to find coats with long sleeves. This coat fits me perfectly. The sleeves and length of the coats has surpassed my expectations. I love the lightness of the coat and it covers my rear. There hasn't been much wind and rain in NYC so i can't make an evaluation on those features as of yet.

I've been eyeing on this jacket for quite some time now, when I saw this on sale, I couldn't resist. Somehow I've convinced myself that I "needed" this. No regret so far. I'm quite petite, 5'1", between 95-100lbs for reference. I was debating between S and the xS but after reading some comments, I went with the Small and I'm glad I did. I like my jackets to have a bit more room when I layer clothing underneath. Felt like if I ordered xS, I would feel like I'm suffocating if I layer or wear a thick sweater/hoodie underneath it. Small felt perfect, would still be warm enough if I wear something thin under. It hits below my knees ('cause I'm short), but I personally like it; gives a bit more warmth. I like that you can take off hood/faux fur but I like the look of it so I'll most likely keep it on. Thing that I don't like is the lack of pockets. There's one on each side (exterior) of the jacket and one in the left side (interior) of the jacket. It's also not as shallow as I would like which is a con for me. But other than that, I felt like this jacket is quite well rounded. Feels good, comfortable, and will keep you warm!

I've been thinking about getting this jacket for yeas and finally ordered it. I like the coat because it's warm yet not heavy. The outer material is good quality and the construction is good for the price. So far, I tested in strong wind and it kept me warm! I like how this jacket is slim fitting...it looks more fashionable than other down jackets. I wear size P0 or 00 and this jacket (XS) fits me nicely.
I wanted the black but didn't like the white logo sewn on the back and the right arm in WHITE thread so went with the blue. I am not crazy about any logos on my clothing so it would be nice if NF can make clothing without NF logo.

I bought this jacket to replace my 10 year old TNF 600 fill down jacket. I was looking for a warmer, more waterproof jacket, as I live in the city of Chicago near the lake and it gets cold, windy, and wet in the winter. This jacket has definitely tackled the erratic weather of a Chicago winter. Even though the down count is less than my older jacket, it is SO much warmer. The jacket works best for me when the temp/windchill is in the 30s or below. It's almost too hot when the temps are in the 40s or above and I'm walking around outside or running errands indoors. But, again, the point was to be warmer in the more extreme cold, so the jacket has accomplished that. I am also keeping an eye on the amount of feathers that have been coming out of the jacket. I had on a black sweater and when I took the jacket off, there were a bunch of small pieces of feather fibers all over my sweater. It's not enough quite yet for me to return the coat, but I will be monitoring it. Finally, I bought my usual size, which is a small (I'm 5'5" and 130lbs) and a medium and I stuck with the small. The jacket is definitely more fitted than my older TNF coat, but I am able to wear a fairly thicker sweater under it without a problem. Overall, I am extremely happy with the purchase and will be keeping my fingers crossed about the feathers.

Bought a bigger size than I need cause I wanted to be wrapped in a huge down blanket/jacket feel when it's really cold out and make sure it goes over anything I have beneath it. Just does that. So that's a win.
One thing that makes me crazy about it though and makes me consider returning it, is the snaps which hold the hood to the jacket. The hood is attached with a zipper. Then the outer edge flaps of the hood tuck under a piece of the jacket and snap in so it's nice and flush against your back when not wearing the hood. Each flap attaches with two small snaps. The idea is that the hood should stay snapped in at ALL times unless removing to wash the jacket. They are well placed but not nearly strong enough to hold the hood into place. They are constantly popping open and then the hood hangs down in a most annoying way. No matter how many times I re-snap the hood to the 2 snaps on each side, they pop open when I put the jacket on.
Still on the fence on how to handle this matter. Just may be a deal breaker.

I bought both the WOMEN'S ARCTIC PARKA II and the WOMEN'S OUTER BOROUGHS PARKA for outdoor sports events in upstate NY and Michigan. I have an athletic build and am usually in between a Small and Medium (5'3" 135 lbs). I tried on both the Small and Medium in both parkas. The small fit but was a bit snug and would not be able to wear anything heavy under it. The medium fit nicely. The Arctic Parka is a little more stylish while the Outer Boroughs is a little more bulky and heavy. This may not be an issue for taller women. Both are 550 down fill but the Outer Boroughs seems heavier. Have not worn in cold weather yet so can't comment on wind/water proof or warmth.

I love the coat however it runs small. I usually wear large, but thus coat I had to return and get ab extra large. I had to get a grey because the taupe was no longer available in xl.

Heavy coat. Certainly will keep one warm. Buty mine arrived smelling like cigarette smoke! It's going back!

I love this coat but have to send it back because it's too small even though I ordered a size up. There is no way I could wear a medium or heavy sweater under it. Also, the collar is really tall on me and very stiff so there's no way I can fold it down. I think that would drive me crazy. If I order another size bigger I think it will be too large in the arms. I'm really disappointed! It's really cute and feels like it would be really warm.

Received this jacket couple of days ago... I was looking for a jacket that kept me warm and at the same time stylish. This jacket did that, very warm and it does not feel heavy on. I'm 5'4 so it is a little long, for me I'm not use to long jackets but I will definitely keep it.. I would recommend buying it... especially since it was on sale as well...

The jacket is great. It is warm and a nice length. I'm 5'1" and it comes above my knee which is great for this cold weather. I would recommend North Face to anyone.

Nice coat. I tried on many and this was the winner. However when I put the hood up when the jacket was fully zipped, the snaps would often pop open.
I was also a little disappointed with the faux fur - not very bushy.
The mechanism to tighten the hood was also irritating.
If the hood doesn't matter to you, it seems to be a great coat. I use my hood a lot, so a good design is important to me.
Sad to return.

I like the look of this coat, and it is warm, which is what I really needed. I bought it to wear on my winter walks in Chicago. However, it runs small. My chest and waist measurements are right in the middle of the range for Medium, and my hip measurement is smaller than the Medium range, however the coat is very form-fitting from top to bottom. With just a shirt on, it was comfortable, but with any type of sweater on, it is not comfortable and feels too tight. Aside from fit, it's a great coat and I'm sure I will get a lot of wear out of it when I get the larger size.

I loved this! It was stylish and warm. The belted waistline is darling and flattering. Lots of great features like the inner sleeve cuff. I loved this but had to return it because of you zip the coat all the way up the neck was so stiff I couldn't move. It was very uncomfortable!

New Taupe Green is a nice color-- pretty much khaki green. The hood is great- actually stays on your head and doesn't fly back with the wind. I wish this parka was longer. It hits mid-upper thigh, and would be warmer if it hit mid-lower thigh/knee.

I am a medium in North Face, but this medium was too snug in the chest and the arms. The sleeves were also too short. I will be exchanging for a large though because it's a super cute coat.
