I have worn the Lowa Renegade for years. It was the first boot, low and high, that did not require a long break in time for me, basically none. And although my feet may have changed with age I couldn't believe how bad these felt. I finally measured and found the ball of the foot area to be about and 1/8th or so of an inch more narrow. Why do shoe makers change a design that works! I will try a wide but I have to say its so disappointing.

I have the Lowa renegade boots and love them. The shoes are NOT the same: incredibly stiff, and pretty heavy. Must return.

Walked 5 miles the first day. The shoes were a little loose in the heel. I think the shoe laces were stretching out. Nonetheless they were comfortable. Using my own orthotics fixed the loose heel problem. Style wise they are a bit dull but comfort on a long hike comes first!

I have been trying to find a pair of hiking shoes that fit me and my orthodics. These shoes feel great but unfortunately my orthodics don't fit in the heel and are too far forward to which makes my toes hurt. The larger size didn't fit my foot. Don't know what I'm gong to do. I haven't return them yet because so far they are the best fit. Haven't worm them yet.

I already have the ‘ankle’, higher version of this shoe, which, by the way I love. This one is another winner! I need something rugged like these shoes/boots to hike in the mountains of Colorado where the footing is far from stable. I wore these all day yesterday up in the mountains for the first time and my feet felt WONDERFUL after being in them all day. Because of the uneven terrain I size up so when I travel downhill my toes have room in the shoe/boot. These are the perfect shoes/boots to hike in! Did I mention they are waterproof? A plus!!

This is my 2nd pair of Lowa Renegade GTX Lo. My old ones fell apart after 10+ years, so I can't complain. I ordered many other companies' low hikers in addition to these Lowa's, and Lowa "won" again. They just FIT my picky feet and work out of the box with no break-in. I hike exclusively in Lowa Renegade GTX boots, primarily the Mid, but I also like to have the GTX Lo. I am disappointed that Lowa removed the top grommets, which made lacing up easier. I hope they bring that feature back for this model. Yes, they are heavy compared to some others I tried on, but I can't pass up comfort in a sturdy hiking shoe. My husband has 2 pairs of the Lowa Renegade GTX Lo and loves them, and he has the Mid boot as well - I guess Lowa just works for us both.

I have narrow feet and this worked for me. Length was fine. Had room for my orthotic supports even with thick socks.

Lowa makes great shoes that are extremely comfortable out of the box. This one didn't fit quite right though. Even though my toes were in the right place and the size was right, I found they slipped a bit in the heel. *With Lowa, I wear a half size larger than my normal shoe size with an orthotic.

I just needed to retire my old Lowa Renegade GTX Lo - the soles finally gave out in both heels after YEARS of use and many miles on sidewalks and quick hikes (I use the ankle boots of this model for longer hikes). I am really disappointed in this upgraded Lo model. Yes, my feet fit in them, but for some reason, and I can't pinpoint it, within a minute, they are not comfortable and both knees start hurting. My old ones were so comfortable. In addition, I HATE the lacing on this new model. I much prefer the metal eyelets for the shoelaces. This new Lo model is sturdy and industrial strength just like my old ones and like the ankle boots, yet Lowa cheaped out on the eyelets. Because of the foot and knee pain, I need to return these. I now need to start over in trying to find waterproof and sturdy low hikers that are comfortable that I can wear anywhere and use on travels when I need a good shoe for concrete/bricks/cobblestone streets but don't want to wear my regular ankle boot hikers.

These just didn’t fit quite right—they kept slipping in the heels. Don’t think they’d work well for hiking. I have the mid height Renegades and they are amazing. (Actually on my 2nd pair)

I wear only Lowa for both mid and low hikers. This was my 2nd pair - my 1st pair finally bit the dust after maybe 10 years (I don't even remember when I bought my 1st pair). I do wish this newer model had metal grommets at the top like my old pair - that's the only thing I don't like about this newer model. But the shoes, although heavy, are comfortable and do what they are supposed to. I like to wear these when I am doing a lot of heavy duty walking on pavement or just need a waterproof shoe but don't want to wear the mid version.

I love these shoes and wear them all the time. The hard sole makes walking longer distances or hiking on uneven territory so much easier. It feels like wearing tires on my feet. Great shoes!

I bought this shoe in a 7 and 7.5. Neither worked. My feet are 2 different sizes. The 7 fit my right foot great/perfect, but my toes on my left foot were squished on the outside edge. It seems the toe box has become narrow compared to my old pair. The 7.5 seemed big on both my feet. My heels slipped and I was concerned with tripping over the front of the shoes. I returned both pairs.

Waterproofing wears out fast. One year in, and they are not waterproof. Take forever to dry. Insoles are not durable and have wear spots. Comfortable. Good traction on hiking trails. Would recommend for use in arid areas.

I put into the search bar I wanted men's shoes. When this showed up I assumed it was a shoe for men, so I ordered my usual size. However, it is a woman's shoe and sizing. This caused me alot of frustration and confusion.

Very uncomfortable, heavy and stiff. Nothing like previous Lowas I've purchased that feel broken in and comfortable as soon as you put them on.
