I read the reviews before buying these shoes. I typically wear an 8.5 AA so all the medium B width shoes are usually too wide for me. So when several of the folks complained that the shoe was too narrow, I took notice. These shoes fit me just as well as my narrow 8.5 Lowa Renegade backpacking boots. I love Lowa and I'm thrilled that these shoes. I plan on hiking in the Cinque Terra this fall in these shoes.

I wear a 10 narrow, and these fit like "narrow"--my narrow heel doesn't walk right out of them. They're very comfortable, and it's great that they have GoreTex. It's too bad that there aren't more shoes and boots available in narrow, medium, and wide--obviously, these shoes are too narrow for some reviewers with medium-width feet. With the scale of internet purchases, why aren't more manufacturers targeting all three widths???

If you need a shoe that runs narrow, this is the one for you. I loved the way these shoes fit. I struggle finding shoes that fit as I need a shoe that runs narrow. Unfortunately I wasn't able to keep the shoe as it hit my tailor bunion at just the wrong spot. The shoes are made well, have good support and are stiff to help support your foot in rocky terrain. I found them extremely comfortable except for the whole tailor bunion thing!!

I purchased two pair of these shoes as I wasn't sure which would be best for me. I started with the size 39.5. These fit me perfectly so no need to try the smaller size (38.5). These are very comfortable shoes from the first moment I put them on. I really like the wider toe box. Laces stay tied and are plenty long enough to make tying shoes very easy. The understated color will be perfect during our European vacation. Returning the smaller size was extremely easy. I highly recommend these shoes and Zappos!

Worst performing boot of all time. I bought these boots before a world-class hiking trip to Tenerife in the Canary Islands. While the scenery defies description, I was unfortunately more focused on not breaking my neck. I suspect my Toms and some bedroom slippers would have had at least as much traction as these cheap soles that felt like walking on plastic.
To add insult to injury (and possibly criminal liability) Lowa scams an extra $40 or so bucks out of buyers for the great Gortex scam. To suggest that these boots are suitable for anything outside of a level fire road is setting hikers up for serious injury. If Gortex was actually useful in keeping feet dry, I'd still choose not breaking my neck over having dry feet. There was literally no surface, dry or damp (I cringe to think what would have happened in any condition that actually came close to "needing" Gortex), where these boots can be trusted to perform. I slipped and slid across one of the world's most gorgeous hiking venues, sustaining mostly superficial injuries, with the exception of whatever it is that I pulled behind my knee. I returned them immediately to Adventure 16 upon my return and recommended that they take them off the shelves before someone gets seriously injured, or worse. Shame on Lowa. Worst. Boots. Ever.

No, it's a sad state of affairs for women looking for a high performance boot.

I have the high top Lowa and these are the same great fit. I have a long narrow feet and Lowa always fits. Although these hikers do not have a vibram sole, they do have a gripping sole. They are much more flexible and would not be good for rocks. There was no break in period and I hiked in them immediately without any blisters while wearing my wool hiking socks. It rained today and they kept my feet completely dry. I usually wear a 9.5N in an athletic shoe and I bought the 9.5 and they fit perfectly. There is also room in the toe box and the laces are round and heavy duty. These are light enough for multiple miles hiking, but I would wear my high tops for serious mountain hiking. The grey color is a good neutral and dark enough to not show too much mud.

These are very good shoes but they run narrow in my opinion. I ordered one size bigger and they were longer but they did not seem much wider. Otherwise I give them 5 stars.

I ordered several different pair of shoes for a European hiking trip. These fit the best and were comfortable in every way. The toe box was roomy but the heal narrow enough for my skinny foot.

I wanted a hiking shoe as opposed to a hiking boot. Lowa hiking boots in a 9N are perect for my feet. The Lowa GTX Lo did not have a narrow in size 9. But based upon the comments I decided to order the Lowa GTX Lo in a 9 regular. The fit is a bit wide, but a heavier hiking sock makes the show work okay -- and I tighten the laces as tight as possible. It is not too clunky either.

Normally, I love Lowas. They have a good wide tox box, but a narrower heel fit, so they fit my awkward feet really well. This is the first time I tried a regular "low" style hiking shoe instead of a hiking boot that comes up the ankle. The shoe itself was comfortable for my foot, but the tongue of the shoe is really hard and inflexible that just walking a few steps in the house and up a couple of stairs felt like it was cutting into my ankle, which would never do for real hikes. Had to go back.

The fit is just way off. I love the LOWA brand and typically they fit my feet perfectly. These were too narrow. My foot felt jammed in. I'm a size 10 so I tried a 1/2 size up, but the 10.5 didn't solve the problem. These are just too narrow and small overall, leading to an uncomfortable fit. I'm returning both sizes and trying a different style.

I am disappointed these didn't fit, I don't think the size down will work as they were borderline narrow in my size. I couldn't believe how long they felt and kinda looked. The construction is beautiful and they supported my high arch. I love the rich colors too. I may have to try the size down if they reappear. Oh, the other problem which I also had with a NB shoe like this. My heel slipped out. I have never had that problem in a shoe,

This is my second pair of Lowa shoes. I like them because I have a long narrow foot, really an 11N, and the medium width in Lowa is narrow enough for me. Most shoes of this type don't come in Narrow, I've found, and this works. Also, they're long enough for my feet in an 11 (or 43-1/2, which I think is what the box said).

This is a great mid-range WP walking shoe. I like the subdued colors. My dress shoe size is 5 1/2. My heels are narrow but no foot issues. The size 6 fit well with cushioned socks. They neither seemed too narrow nor too wide. Although I like the Lowa Levante, I decided to return these in favor of Adidas Outdoor Terrex AX2R GTX for a trip to Europe.

I ordered a 9.5 which is a half size too long. I'm going to try in in a 9 even though I'm afraid the tapered toe won't leave room for my toes due to a bunion on my left food. Love the ventilation and the fact that it's Goretex waterproof. Color is also nice.

I have been looking for something with good support and good grip but not too "hiking boot" looking, to wear around town as well as walking on trails. I ordered these because I was happy to read the reviews that they suit narrow feet, and they do , except in the heel which is a bit loose on me. But the look and the fit are otherwise so great that I am keeping them. They fit my narrow feet with just a relatively light Smartwool sock. You do need some protection by a sock because the tongue is a bit thin- that could so with a little more padding at the front of the ankle. I also tried Adidas Terrex GTX which looked and felt very bulky in contrast.

I think I read Lowas were good for narrow feet but the 9.5 was way too loose in the heel and by the time I snugged them up enough to fit in the toe, the tongue was all crumpled up, which seems like it might become uncomfortable on a hike. Anyway, the loose heel did it for me.

Had to change my mind- when I first tried these I thought they were great, but after wearing round the house for a while (with Smartwool socks) I got a blister on top of the joint of my big toe- I think the Goretex lining might wrinkle, or the fold in the fabric at the very bottom of the tongue must be rubbing. Very sadly returning them.

Nice shoe but not as hefty in the support area as I expected with Lowa... will most likely order more of a hiking shoe next time.

Wanted to love them. They look really good and not bulky. Unfortunately they don't provide enough arch support for an overpronator like me. Plus after a couple hours of wearing them around the house my feet started to feel tired which is strange since I own a great pair of Lowa hiking boots that I adore. Returning this one.

I ordered a 9 and it was too big. Th was was my usual size. Then I exchanged for an 8 1/2 the customer service rep went over the exact measurements so I would know how much narrower and shorter the shoe would be. Well the 2nd size arrived today and it was bigger than the 9! My foot fell out of it when it was tied up. I think many have had to return the shoes also. Both pairs of shoes has obviously been returned before.
