Overall this is a good purchase. I can feel the warmth as soon as I put on the jacket, but I don't get hot. It breaths well. The sleeve length is on the edge of being to short for me, but I have long arms. I do think the zipper needs to be heavier duty. The zip in option would be great too.

got this for my girlfriend. she digs color. fit is better than most outdoor clothing (i.e. usually too baggy and not flattering for a lithe girl of 100lbs).

This jacket was the ultimate purchase, not only does it look amazing, it's so functional. It's the perfect blend of lightweight and substantial... It's not heavy or bulky but it is still warm. The only thing that I would change is the sizing, I put in the measurements and it advised me to purchase a M, I went with my gut and got a large (even with slightly exaggerated numbers in the height and weight section) a medium would have been too small, so I'm happy with my product and even happier I didn't use the size guide!

Excellent coat for light and heavy weather. Dries quick when wet. Also very comfortable

I bought this from the local TNF store so I knew what I was getting. Overall a great mid layer for warmth. Not wind proof so you'll have to wear a shell on the wind. The quilted stitching is very light weight, not sure how durable it will be. When I hold the jacket up to the light I can see right through where the stitching is which means there would be heat loss at all the quilt seams. Some jackets offset the cells so the seams don't run all the way front to back. But all in all I like the jacket which replaces my Redpoint jacket. Chest pocket would be nice.

Great fit, very warm for its weight. Unfortunately, too fragile of a material for someone that does more than sit in a chair. Maybe mine was just defective. I might try again. I loved how it looked and fit.

I work outside all week long and have to dress up in laywers. When I go out I like to feel comfortable and not so bulk as I feel all week long when working. This jacket fit me well. Expensive but well worthed.

Looks like a heavy jacket, but super light and great for wet weather conditions. I went with the green camo for a more urban look, but all of the color combos are pretty fly! Personally, I felt the coat was on the big side, so order one size down.

The jacket is light weight and is completely water proof. The wind is kept out and it remains warm.

Really, Really nice design. Pros- -Folds up really small (in it's own pocket) -Very Warm (Fine down to 0 degrees) -Sturdy Zippers -Big Pockets -Nice Hood Cons- -Material seems a but flimsy (thin), I'm afraid a key or a sharp corner on a table might rip it. -Stitching is good but not excellent. BE VERY CAREFUL OPENING THE BOX!!! There is absolutely nothing between the coat and the top of the box. Price seems a bit high. I guess it is new technology though.

I like the jacket but for this price it should be perfect. The size adviser told me I needed an extra small. This jacket isn't made in xs so I went with the small. It fits well in the shoulders, but a little loose in the chest and waist. I like the ultra light feel of the jacket. It doesn't feel like I'm wearing a jacket. One feature I would ad as a designer, a cinch cord for the hood. If it is windy, the hood is useless, however. It is a great jacket.

I recently had a patagonia nano puff jacket with hoodie and it really didn't help at all with the wind and environment that i was in. They made it for casual wear. i found out about this jacket a couple of weeks ago and i love it so much.. keeps me warm and is pretty tough. i wear it to work everyday and i doesn't smell bad. so overall this jacket is a great buy, for a person who loves to work and play in the outdoors

Great product received as a gift on my birthday as I tried it on zipping it up the zipper where it connected at the bottom completely ripped off the jacket, aside from that was a very nice jacket.

I love almost everything about this jacket. Very comfortable, lightweight, warm, practical, kinda stylish. But there's a total fail with the hood: When you turn your head, the hood doesn't turn. It's stiff, there's no pull cord, so you just end up with your face against the inside of the hood. Especially bad walking across the street, otherwise just annoying.

This jacket is great in regards to look and quality. I LOVE the inside wrist cuff. Blocks wind from coming up the arms. The hoody does not have a draw cord but that is fine. I love how it cradles my head perfectly without covering my eyes. The only issue with this jacket is that the small is a little big. Sleeves a bit long and it is overall a little baggy. The XS however fits good in regards to the sleeves, arms, chest, BUT so tight around the hips. Patagonia XS jackets fits very well however the ones I like are a bit more expensive.

Thermoball was not advertised as slim fit. This information should have been included in the description. Disappointing Zappos!

Great product love the thermoball 5 foot 10 200 pounds large fit me perfectly.. had horrible experience with customer service I ordered this item originally and they run out of my size. Tried to get another and they wanted to charge me more money for same jacket but different color. And manager would not help me out even though they ran out of my size the first time.overall great jacket horrible customer service experience with manager.

1.Would like to have more pockets inside for traveling. Passport/wallet zipper for security. 2.Would like to see outside pocket for iPhone accessibility to take pictures-easy access...Velcro? 3. a detachable hood or folding hood in collar. Other than that Jacket is lightweight-very compatible for traveling. Meanwhile-Bought 2 in 1 for now.

My husband loved everything about this jacket except it was too tight in the arms. And he is averaged size, not overly muscular. We even tried going up a size, but then too large in the body and sleeves too long.

Great jacket, just didn't work for me so I had to return. They use OnTrac to deliver to states in the west coast, like Arizona where I live. OnTrac is horrible all the way around, and they ended up delivering my package at 9:30 at night. I'd rather spend $5 on shipping if you use UPS. I tried the jacket on, decided it wasn't for me, and dropped off the package at USPS on 12/6 to return. The package isn't supposed to get to the destination until 12/20, even though I'm returning it to CA from AZ. Get this jacket, just not from this website.

Disappointed to order this and find out it was much tighter then a previous version I had in Medium. I wore a medium in a non-hooded version last year and found great use for it. I ordered the hooded version for xmas and the slim fit design is not practical nor comfortable for outdoor activities. Layering with a sweater underneath would be challenging. Slim fit design makes the jacket to tight in the waist and lower back.

Bought this for my son and it was a really nice jacket but didn't seem to fit him as expected. I tried it on and it was way too tight! Much to my surprise it is a "slim fit" jacket. There is a tag identifying it as such. Unfortunately the website does not correctly identify the fact that these are slim fit jackets only. I called North Face to find this to be true. Unfortunately I do not want to order another hooded jacket for my son to find out it's a slim fit as well so I am returning and buying another brand elsewhere. Nevertheless, it really is a nice jacket otherwise. I would recommend the jacket but maybe order a size up if your body type dictates.
