I love the Ventrix series. This is the second one I purchase, the other being the same in full black. What I love the most is its versatility. I can use it as my only jacket when temperatures are above 40 degrees, and as a layer for my windbreaker when they drop below 40. It's easy to pack and recently became the only jacket I brought to a national park trip through Arizona.

Brought this for my son. He wanted something light which could fit inside his school bag. This is perfect for him.

Haven't had a chance to ski with it yet, but what I can tell is it's exceptionally comfortable. I compared it to the Arcteryx Atom LT and found them pretty similar in terms of style, fit and comfort (although I liked this hood better). Give this cost significantly less, the Ventrix was a no brainer.
Note: I usually wear and L but had to go to XL here.

This is an amazing jacket. Just warm enough but never gets "too hot." even when exercising. It is nicely form-fitting, but not tight. I have never had outerwear that remains so comfortable over such a wide range of temperatures. I liked this so much I bought 2 more for my family!

Bought this after looking at the packable puffy thermoball jackets that literally every person has. I liked this more, it has more of a matte look and isn't shiny like a lot of those thermoball jackets are but it is just as warm. I like the different look over the thermoball mostly because it doesn't make me look puffy, it is just as warm and it is matte so it doesn't have that sheen to it. Overall I am very happy with this jacket and wear it constantly.

I'll admit I was skeptical of the Ventrix at first...Patagonia's Nano-Air line of breathable, synthetic midlayers is great, and these seemed to be following the same thought process. After getting the Ventrix to use as a "beater" jacket, I have to admit I was pretty blown away, and it easily usurped my go-to pieces like the Nano-Air and, dare I say it, even the Atom LT. The fit is excellent for us skinny guys, and it layers easily. The giant chest pocket is perfect for a + sized phone or other goodies, and I can't say the same for similar jackets with minuscule pockets. I've used it primarily for backpacking and ice climbing, and it's excelled at both. The breathability of the jacket is phenomenal, stretch fabric and durability are great - I've had zero pilling in over a year of heavy use - and it takes a DWR re-treatment very well. Ventrix is easily TNF's best line of apparel in a long, long time.

Used this backpacking through the Lower Buffalo River Wilderness in late January. Temps ranged from highs in upper 40s to lows below freezing. In camp, I wore a merino wool hoody and the Ventrix jacket and was never cold. I could easily wear the jacket for the first hour or two backpacking without becoming sweaty. After that, I stowed it for the rest of the day. DWR finish and synthetic insulation was welcome when I refilled water bottles from waterfalls. Water beaded up and the jacket quickly dried. Couldn't do that with my down puffy. Bottom line - a great choice for exertion in 20s to 30s temp. The breathability was noticeable - nice not to get clammy.

I've been in all places of the US, Colorado, Oregon, Washington, and currently Virginia. With that, I'm always on the look for warm gear for my different outings and this North Face Ventrix is the perfect midlayer for a cold winter day or just a casual jacket for walking around town on a more moderate winter day.

I have a pretty solid build and unfortunately NFace hasn't not fit great in arms and shoulders. This piece ROCKS.. Super lightweight, blocks all wind and definately breaths cause I run hot for sure. If you don't want it I will take it, very glad they found an SUV in a casual athletic jacket. Well done North Face..

I'd been searching a long time for a good midlayer that is the right balance between warmth, breathability and wind protection. This jacket really checks all my requirements. I used it over a baselayer in 15-20 degree weather, kept me toasty warm while walking my dog. Needed an outer shell below 15 degrees and windy conditions. On a strenuous hike above 30 degrees, this jacket still kept me on the drier side.

I use this jacket over typically light layers and it retains a decent amount of heat. By itself, phenomenal, with a light windbreaker or even rain jacket over it, it's the perfect piece alone it paired for colder weather. I personally move around a lot and enjoy a nice walk on cold days and I've already found myself sweating under the jacket when I take was about 32 Degrees out and winds hit maybe 17mph.

I used it to go skiing on snow, and it is very comfortable, it does not interfere in anything, and it protects very well from the cold.

When I first bought the Ventrix hoodie jacket, I fell in love with the Ventrix tech. I was using that jacket for causal wear, but then went on to buy the Ventrix Jacket (no hood) in grey. Since then, I have bought 3 more of them and wear them in rotation. I recently bought another one in the Citronell green/grape leaf color since it was really bright for when I run outdoors in cold weather (to allow for traffic visibility). The jacket is very lightweight and keeps very warm in cold weather. When I'm running, it performs really well at keeping the cold out and allowing for heat to accumulate and dissipate at the same time. I also really like the different textile that was used on the forearms which adds to its durability. At work, when it gets really cold (I work in the lower level basement of a building) I can wear this jacket and keep my forearms moving on the table while working on the computer with having to worry about damage to the material. One of the only disadvantages of the jacket is that it is not the best for wet/rain weather. In very light rain its okay, but if its a down pour I find this jacket getting soaked. Overall, the Ventrix jacket has performed excellently to my expectations and needs and I find it to be quite stylish and convenient to wear for the winter. I would highly recommend this jacket for anyone looking for a light weight, stylish jacket for the winter or for anyone in need of a performance jacket for outdoor workouts/sport.

I bought this jacket at a NF store as a mid layer for skiing. I wear a base layer compression cold gear shirt, this jacket and a Gor Tex shell and was nice and warm the entire day. It was 30 degrees and snowing today. Thinking that I could push to 0 degrees but nothing over 40 degrees with this current set-up. I am 45 years old, 170 pounds, size medium on fit chart. I purchased a small because like I said it's a mid layer for me. It's snug in the chest area but allows great arm movement. Probably good for climbing as well?
